I looked at a 996 today everything worked except the turn signals, and each side had a different problem. 1) when I tried to turn the righ hand signal on it wouldn't catch and stay. I could hold it but the second i released it it would return to it's neutral position 2) When I turned the left hand signal on it wouldn't return to the neutral position. I'm thinking there's a problem in the column..duh So what do you think the degree of difficulty is in this repair..or what do you think the problem could be ? Thanks mace

Oh yeah the drivers head light motor needs a new gear..it works but is making a noise when it shuts. you have to pull the tab off and out it on the broken one then set and turn it..it just needs a new tab And ac works great

It's an auto with 108-109k. Runs great I'm the 3rd owner my father in law was 2nd and had it forever. Clean cleat title. The good: It's a convertible corvette My father in law replaced the top during his ownership(maybe 8 years ago he doesn't remember exactly) Tires have about 5-6k on them All 4 TPS have been replaced Serpentine belt and tensioner have been replaced(chasing down the squeak but kinda still there) Mobile 1 (of course) Tranny service just done Right front hub replaced Probably for getting something..anyway now for the bad 1226/133 (abs/tcs) error it's a right front hub(replaced) which killed the 1255 error. I'm a member of the corvette forum and they say it's a connection somewhere. It comes on after 35mph in warm weather and 45 in cold. You have to manually move the as the controls are frozen Drivers bolster is really worn Again, maybe something else but I can't remember at the moment. The car is a blast to drive. In the early 90s I have a 21/2 car block garage, we had to do a cam in my 3800 and I used 2 propane grills to heat it. Took several days to due never went through either tank but we were in shirt sleeves and jeans working in there. We were toasty warm..lol

The controls on my 98 vette are stuck in the direct blow on you mode. The knob is broken and I have tried to turn it with a pair of pliers but it will not budge. I'm guessing this is cable operated and they are somehow bound up. Can anyone give me any guides on this please? How hard is it to take the unit out and get behind it? Thanks mace

I still have a s3 that my son is constantly griping at me to get rid of. I've been looking to upgrade but not to the newest thing available. I hate spending $800 on a phone so he has shown me the 1+ at $500. I don't know, my still works albeit slow and a bit glichy at times. He has an x but he's been an apple fan boy since forever.

So my son was off work and he started the car pulled the wires off the plugs and found something weird. 3 of the 6 plug were rusted, I thought they may just be discolored so when I got home I pulled the wires and sure enough they are rusted. What might cause the plugs to rust? Would replacing the plugs fix the problem short term and yes the boot plugs showed rust in them. What do you think?? Thank you for the input

Says it's random cylinder misfire car starts but runs extremely rough ...soooo I'm thinking its ignition related. I will begin by pulling each plug wire and see if I'm getting spark on all, but after that I'm a bit lost. I would then think icm but how would I test it? Could it be a maf or would that throw a different code?Any other ideas? Thanks mace

Saw it and it drove nice but had a ton of wind noise on the drivers side, where it had been hit and repaired. Looks likeit had been taken care of . Looked at a few more vehicles , go to call the next day and it's gone. Thanks for all the help mace
