  1. It was more if a "hey is there a tranny tech in here that would like to make some cash on the side"
  2. I forgot to add that 2nd gear has already been done..that's why I bought it
  3. Well the final answer is torque converter..doesn anyone know someone who would install this at a reasonable price..I was quoted $500 I'd would pay 350-400. I know you can get one for about $100.. Thanks mace
  4. Went to it the first few years when it was only body building and contained at Vets. Then took my son probably 8-10 years ago a few times but it's way too crowded to enjoy. My son is home from college to go to it. It is great for the city. mace
  5. Thanks..I didn't think it was gas related but I can't figure out why when I let off the gas, the sound always occurs. If it is a converter wouldn't or shouldn't it do it when in reverse? Man..the lst few cars have had weird problems
  6. Well I had to go to work tonight and tried something. I heard the sound got about 200 yards into the lot, stopped put it in reverse and went screaming backwards down the drive probably 15-20 mph let off the gas which is what always make the sound and guess what...no sound. Ideas??
  7. I have an 02 acura tl-s. It has started to make a weird noise I feel somewhere in the tranny. Let me start by saying it supposedly had 2nd gear done..ok here we go. The sound is a rubbing not grinding sound. When i first start out with the car cold no noise, but within 1/4 mile the noise begins. It is the loudest when in maybe 2nd ..maybe 3rd gear but can be present in several higher gears. The really weird part is it is always there when I let off the gas completely. If I accelerate slowly by keeping my foot somewhat on the gas the noise doesn't seem to be there or maybe not noticeable. I have taken the car on the freeway let it decelerate hard put it in neutral the sound goes away..put it back in gear sound comes back..neutral goes away. From what I read I thought it might be a torque converter bearing. Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks mace
  8. We have 2 rescues and they are great dogs....good luck on finding someone to foster and you have a very good soul in doing this. mace
  9. I wrestled 2 years in high school did noting spectacular, my favorite move the figure 4 which is now illegal . In my 20s wrested a bear at eastland mall and beat it. For anyone who know you cannot pin a bear as it has rounded shoulders but i had the bear down and it could not get up. A buddy of mine wrote a story on it in the company paper then begged me to put it in SI. I refused. A few months later he shoes an SI in my face with a blurb in it about someone else who had done it, with a "see I told you" mace
  10. As long as the petition signers pay for the entire thing and care for it and its upkeep..Im ok with it. mace
  11. Well the final answer is it was a frayed wire that would get hot and short out the pump. Thank all of you for the help have a good day mace
  12. I don't know if I'd call it a misfire as much as it is a sputter then die
  13. no codes...hadn't thought of the cat
  14. I have a 99 olds , while drive last week to hit the freeway (about 2 miles away) the car begins to sputter then dies, car would not restart. Get a GC cop to push it out of the way and wait for a tow. When the truck get there it starts but really won't run. I figure fuel pump, so I put a new one in. Take it on the 2 miles down the road it sputters and dies. Again it won't restart, wait for a tow but it still won't start. So what do you think..ICM? I changed the fuel filter about 4 years ago. Ideas?? Thanks mace
  15. YES stay away from ortho neuro..they screwed up my wrist, then got shitty with me. At a party last year there was a nurs talking about how big of quacks they were and what they do to make extra money
  16. If he's just starting invest in a good set of noise cancelling devices for you and the family.. I can remember when my one son began playing the trumpet...WOW the sounds he could make that I have never heard a horn make
  17. I really don't want to play psu next year
  18. In talking more to my son who took it in for me he said, and I may have missed it, he said when they tried the door lock on the door it failed to operate the locks, that's why bb feels it's not their install or the viper. Could the viper have caused this to fail? Thought??
  19. What I find interesting is it's a left hand drive car in Europe. It is a very cool find.
  20. I'd love to make it best buys problem but I didn't purchase it , it was bought by the previous owner and I don't know how far I can push them on the subject. I do have all the warranty paperwork. I do believe it is the viper or the installation of the product but they pushed it off as an electrical problem. I think it's a short somewhere like I said before, if I push it to start it will then die,I can then usually put the key in and it will start but every so often I'll put the key in, it will start then die. I go through this several times then it will start. When it does attempt to start the doors will lock and I can unlock them, but if I try to lock the doors with the viper w/o starting it won't lock them. mace
  21. troubleshooter? I have a weird problem with my jeep gc. It has a viper remote start and it began acting up,not unlocking the car, then it bgin to start it and the car would die. Sometimes it will start up the first time then others it will take 2 or 3 times before starting. I took it back to best buy and they said it wasn't the viper and it worked flawless while it was there. So any help is greatly appreciated
