  8. Ok I know so little about skiing it's not funny, but my youngest loves the sport. So last week while taking him supplies at college he informed my that for a combo birthday/Xmas gift (2 days apart) he wants skis and boots. I guess the boots are part of the ski?? Anyway he wants something that will last a LONG time...a very good set. So before I go to aspen whatever the store is or somewhere else (suggestions accepted and needed) I thought I'd ask the knowledge base here what should I get and where should I go. He was saying yous should spend money on the boots and not so much on the skis. HELP!!!!!!! Thanks mace

  12. I'm with "z". I havae only owned 4x4 as I thought "Ohio snow". But last year I wanted to teach my sone to drive a stick and didn't want to spend over $4k. I looked at A LOT of crap, rust buckets, dash lights on and "minor problems" truck. My brother has owned several truck all 2wd and he said the same thing, if you don't do heavy 4 wheeling 2wd w/weight in the bed is fine. Finally, found a nice std. cabin,5 speed ranger, roll up windows, but no dash lights, very minor surface rust and NO minor problems. It needed tires but that was easy enough. I put 180 lbs. in the back and rode around all winter with no problems. In the spring, I took the weight out but it doesn't ride as nice Good luck on your hunt mace

  15. You cant go wrong with a cummings. I too was looking for diesels for a while and did a lot of research. The newer fords diesels unless used for long distance hauling are not good everyday, short distance driver. Didn't hear much about the allison. Good luck with your search mace
  16. I have a Taurus 738 and I have a friend who bought one used for $149 at woodburys. It shoots great. My biddy who bought the gun was in the service and has shot some hi end stuff and commented on the accuracy and smoothness of the gun. I don't get the comment "Taurus has a poor track record" I have a 99 I bought in the early 90s and have put several thousand rounds through it. Never a ftf , stovepipe, or fte. ALL guns have problems glocks, ruger, sig, etc. Google reviews here is one: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/05/jeremy-s/gun-review-taurus-738-tcp/ Just remember what's best for you is best..Good luck with your search mace
  17. Clark I just to say todays the first day I had a chance to shoot the glock and it was like butter. Loved it..Someone needs to buy the other if it's half as good as the schizo 23/32 it will be a great gun. Thanks Larry

  20. Yes my son finished his 1st year of college and is already in debt. We got exactly $0 for help. We make too much for help and too little to really pay for it, but my wife and i are sacrificing to help him. But he too is having to work and borrow so he will not think it's so easy and given to him Another problem is the cost of college it is STUPID. Now we'll talk about interest. Why are we having to pay so much, why aren't we getting a break. Why well if they didn't charge the middle class so much in taxes, yes interest is a tax, the US would be in a worse state than it is. OK i I'm off my soap box...long story short I fell you pain mace
  21. I would think the link by mojoe should be a sticky mace
