1) I really can't be 100% sure the airbags never deployed, however I have no airbag codes and the airbags appear to be in place. 2) This past week I had an alignment done and the tech said he got everything within spec and provided an alignment sheet proving so. The driver's front is the only tire that I haven't replaced. There are 2 newer Continental Extreme Contact tires in the rear and the fronts are Kumho Ecsta SPTs. The passenger front was replaced last year to match the driver's side. At the time, the driver's side didn't seem to be worn down very much so I didn't replace it, but it needs to be replaced now. I may replace it in the near future before selling. I'd be happy to meet with anyone interested to have the alignment and suspension checked either at Tire Discounters with Derek's offer or at any shop of your choice.

2004 Mazda RX-8 Brilliant Black exterior with black cloth interior 6 Speed Manual Transmission ~91,300 miles $6,500 OBO Selling because I am moving to Memphis for a job. I will be back and forth between Ohio and Tennessee the next couple of months, so I may not be able to immediately show it, but I will try my best to work something out. My daily is now a Mazda 3 so the mileage on the RX-8 shouldn't change much. Pictures coming soon! The Good: (Reliability Mods/Upgrades) Front brakes recently replaced with new rotors and pads. Optima Red Top battery. Updated Mazda starter that enables quicker/more reliable start-ups. BHR Ignition System (basically LS1 coils) LINK Mishimoto aluminum radiator. 12" Inifinity Reference Sub in a custom enclosure with JL amp. New driver's side tail light - old one had a bad gasket and allowed moisture inside, damaging it. Side and rear windows were tinted about 3 years ago at 35% The Bad: I purchased it from a salvage auction in 2009 from North Carolina. It had been declared a total loss, however it was never issued a salvage title. I have a clear Ohio title without any branding. It had been damaged in the front and needed a new hood and bumper. Most of the receipts of the repairs are available for reference. The transmission is so-so. 1st through 3rd can be a little stubborn sometimes in cold weather. The passenger airbag cover is cracked. It is a fairly common problem among RX-8s. I believe a replacement cover from Mazda is under $200. This crack is not from the airbag deploying, and to my knowledge none of the airbags have ever been deployed. Driver's side front tire will need to be replaced soon. There are 2 splash guards that are missing. These are on the left and right side of the front bumper in front of the wheels. The main wheel well fender liners are in place, but these splash guards would be needed for a completed look. I just never got around to getting them.

I've used them a couple times and they have been friendly and helpful both times. They talked me in to getting a couple of my pressure sensors rebuilt, which ended up being a mistake and created a slow leak. They used the wrong rebuild kit, but fortunately corrected it the next day after I complained. It was a pain to make another trip to their shop for their screw up and wait 30-45 minutes. Also, a tire shop should be able to do alignments like all of the others. I've gone elsewhere because they can't do alignments. Why buy new tires and then drive to another shop that sells tires and does alignments, just for an alignment? I'm a one stop does it all kind of guy and trying to save a few bucks on tires isn't worth the inconvenience.

Diesel Pilot pretty much said it how it is. I graduated with a degree in aviation in '09 and I have been working construction the past 2 years while providing flight instruction on the side. In '07 the industry moved the mandatory retirement age from 60 to 65, so it essentially created a 5 year lapse in hiring. In addition to this the recession hit and just recently there was a law passed that you must have 1500 hours and an ATP certificate to fly for a commercial airline. There is a lot of speculation as to whether or not in 2012, when the lapse caused by the age 65 rule stops, there will be a big hiring boom like there was in '07. I think there probably will be, but I doubt there will be much room for new pilots to enter the industry. There are so many pilots without flying jobs right now that they will fill these openings. I know a commercial pilot that lives in Lancaster, but commutes to Dallas for work. Another pilot I know lives in Logan and drives to Dayton 2 or 3 times a week to work for 2-3 days and comes back home for about a day, maybe 2 if he is lucky. If you want to learn to fly for your own enjoyment then I say go for it. If you want to do it for a job someday I would think about something else. I instruct at both Fairfield County and Perry County airports. The 1997 Cessna 172 at Fairfield County is pretty nice and rents for $120 an hour. The 1965 Cessna 172 at Perry County is decent and rents for $95 an hour. Send me a message if you have an questions.

Nice job. Don't slice the tile in two. It won't look right. If you have an angle grinder you can buy a diamond disc that will cut the tile. Selling my Carter Go-Kart with a 6HP Tecumseh engine. I pretty much stopped driving it in 2004 when I became more interested in cars. So it sat outside under a tarp behind my parents shed until last Summer when I tried to get it going. I got it to start but it ran rough. The carb probably needs rebuilt and it also needs a new kill switch. The torque converter had locked up but I replaced it with a new one. I don't want to mess around with it anymore. Hopefully there is someone here that is good with small engines and wants to fix it up for their kids. Asking $200. Located in Lancaster. Thanks for the tip. Now that I think about it, it makes more sense that the FPR could be bad than a fuel injector.

So I have these symptoms: Hard to start. Runs rich. Engine floods easily. Poor gas mileage. Can anyone recommend a place to send my injectors to be cleaned and flow tested?

New thermal paste and rewire the fans to operate constantly on high at 12v. You can even get creative and wire a switch to the fans to run them on high.

I finished the manual swap almost a year ago, but now it looks like rebuild time is near. The project FD I bought was Mike's/Rotarded's FD. Someone along the line of ownership repaired the body damage after his mishap, but it still needs a little more body work. It was pretty much a stripped shell when I got it but I now have most of the engine bay wiring and accessories hooked back up. The interior should be back together in a couple weeks.

Tint looks good! Get a prescription from an optometrist. My dad is one and he won't even give me one. Just depends which doctor you go to.

Not 100% on this but I believe it belongs to a guy down in Ironton. He has 3 of them that he has completely rebuilt/customized. He also has 2 corvettes. All of them have a BAD prefix on the license plate.
