  1. Columbus Pipe & Equipment for sheet scrap. They have a few 1000 sf. of floor covered in random pieces. It's all cut into square/rectangular pieces. 14ga to 1" thick, 6" square to full sheets. They also have pretty good prices carbon sheet.

Research alloys for random stuff. They stock some square tubing and sheet goods. They are very reasonable. Good prices on stainless sheet as well.

Benjamin Steel if you want to order and have it delivered and have a forklift/business address. I pay $9.50 for fuel surcharge - less than it would cost me in gas to pickup myself.

I haven't used Alro as their prices are insane unless you need 100 tons. I browse their site as a baseline and if I need something specific.

If you're near Plain City (Industrial Pkwy.) and want miscellaneous scrap to practice on, let me know.

  2. Yep and that is why I am trying to find a simple one that does not have much detail. The one i sent you thru a pm might work. Will let you know. How big can you make these ?

48" x 96" one piece. As big as you want if welded. Life size? Do it

  3. I am liking these. What kind of seat is going on them. Can't wait to see that fish.

Not sure yet. I'd have to price them fairly high to get fancy. I may just do a standard round wood stool seat.

  4. Nick, I'll buy one of those "AIR TOOLS" racks.

I can pick it up and pay you when I get your scrap from you...will be middle part of this week hopefully.

Let me know when you want to stop by. I'll burn it out then. It's fun to watch :)

  5. Awesome work!

I would be interested in a big beefy (1/8" or so) fire ring. 3 feet or slightly larger in diameter, Hexagonal or round, but would like it to be 16" tall or so. Optional would be some sleeves on the inside of the diameter to pound re-bar into. Also maybe a 3 or 4" foot rest around the top edge?

Mine would be sitting on the ground, but would consider also having one made for my father with a bottom and legs instead of rebar sleeves. Let me know sir!

Absolutely. I'll send you some examples in the AM.

  6. Yeah rebar makes it easy. V2.0 will have a welded tab about 12" up to help hammer into ground. And now that I figured out what burner things I'm using I'll bend little tabs on the base to keep it from tipping off.

I made the burners so I want to see if they hold up before I make a final design.
