  1. I would be more than happy to talk to anyone who has questions. I should sit down and write some material from my experiences, but right now time and I are not friends. Be more than happy to chat via phone or in person if the interest is there and I can get some free time.

    Ryan, glad I could help.

Over 4 points. At least I have 0 points again.

  3. He is correct, the newer ones are a bitch to break in, which is why I suggested Clenzoil and not taking it apart for the first 150-200 rounds. The older models had more hand refinements and thus were more reliable and accurate. When I say older, 7-8 years.

    On Sale at Vances...$679.99.

I think Kimbers are overpriced and in general there are better options for the kind of money you will usually spend on a Kimber but on sale it was only $100 more than the Para I was looking at and I believe Kimber is a superior company to Para...

nonetheless, great gun. I urge you to heed my advice about those magazines, though. Trust me, I would not steer you wrong in terms of a defensive weapon. Let's put it this way.... I personally never witnessed anyone with a Kimber win a competition with stock mags. Look at the follower design. POS that throws the round out of the magazine whichever way it bounces. without a polished chamber, this is BAD. Even with one, it is not great. The design sucks and puts people who don't know in grave danger. Promag, CM, Novak or Wilson Combat make great ones that work when it matters. FTF sucks when you have a nice gun, especially when it can easily be prevented.

  4. Well, Semper Fi sir. I would be more than happy to educate you on some things here and there since I learned since I was out, etc.... but I don't really want to sit here and type all night.

If you want to meet up sometime, let me know and I can give you the run down on some stuff. I have some opinions, but I was a scout and I worked in the gun industry for about 6 and a half years so I guess I do have a little bit of background.

  5. M1A or a bolt gun. I dislike the AR platform with a passion, though so I am very biased. I can respect it in the 5.56, but see no purpose for a 308AR. Have you looked at the costs of magazines yet?

Where did you take your CCW?

    Where were you stationed?

  6. In short, it is an Audi a car of a million electrical gremlins. Mix that with the fact that previous owners did some stupid stuff, like the pictured above and this is what you get. I believe the board tested bad and the chip was ok. They're already relatively hard cars to maintain and some people want to take short cuts. The proper method would have been simple, solder the chip to the board and put the board back in the case, but I guess that was too hard for some asshat to accomplish so he decided zip ties and masking take would work ok... and it did for a little while.

Let this be a lesson that if you cannot afford to do maintenance on a car, or modify it correctly just don't fucking do it. Please don't do it and save someone else the headache down the road.

  7. Tire pressure will kill gas mileage too.. they always taught in school that your tires are the number 1 most important part of your suspension

Tell me about it. I just picked up a Subaru Legacy Brighton wagon for a beater/work. This vehicle got a consistent 36.5MPG on the way back home at varied speeds between 60-80MPH (no cruise FTL). Anyway, I get home and check the tires and they're at 51 PSI! I noticed a bit more "float" than normal, but I knew that car is lighter than my other Subie, so I didn't expect much.

Talk about hyper-mileing, I think I am getting 32 at most now that I put it back down to 32.

  8. Actually, the last I heard they streamlined it quite a bit (but this Admin could have changed it)... When I was doing them for people as a business it was 3-5 weeks and individuals usually saw it in 8-10 weeks or less. They moved to HQ to KY, I believe and really sped it up.
