It's a CCW gun, designed for 15 feet or less. NO SNAG = milled sights down the slide. Plus, when you put it in someone's mouth you don't get it stuck in their teef.

All the issues I've heard of involving mechanical defects in Taurus products concerned their revolvers; I've yet to run into anyone who PERSONALLY experienced issues with their semi-autos. That said, Taurus has a well-earned reputation for absolute shitty-ness in customer service.

You've never asked me. I have seen 10x more issues with their semi auto's than with their revolvers. Neither are great, but the semi's just plain suck dirty hole.

Rock Island Armory if you're into the base model pricing. Trust me, they're world's ahead of Springy. Do not get yourself a modern GI model. They suck pretty bad if you don't know what you're doing and want to mod it.

If you can find a Colt for $599 that would be my first choice.

Keep the cash, add to it, be patient and you will find what you want. Do not rush!

If you jumped into German cars with a B5 S4, and were shocked that it was not reliable, then you didn't spend 5 minutes researching them.

 

Go buy one of the worst models for reliability, and a highly modded one, of any make, and color me shocked when it does just that.

 

Please tell me you have other examples that turned you off to Audi other than the S4.

I have owned one VW and it wasn't super reliable, either. Definitely no B5 S4, though. I knew going in there were potential problems with the S4. However, make no mistake the car failed because of Audi's inherent design flaw, not because it was highly modified. At first I blamed the modifications, but in the end it was Audi's infinite wisdom that caused the issues that made the car FAIL. I have friends who own or have owned Audi's and had issues as well. Not nearly modified enough to get out of their own way, though. Read: very near stock, stage 1 or less.

There is no doubt that if I wanted to get into a wreck with a large, heavy object and live, there is no doubt in my mind that I would want to be in a b5 or big body benz. I survived a severe wreck in a Subaru vs a pcp'd fool on a crotch rocket and it held up like a champ, too.

Every time I look around I see someone with an Audi having problems. I have been a member of vortex for years and have scanned through those threads on occasion and have seen nothing but issues for anything other than stock VAGs. I also see daily issues every time I logged into Audizine. I'm not knocking the people owning the cars, I'm knocking the cars. Their not for me and I am certainly not for them and I'm more than ok with that.

Here's a vouch for Terron. Picked up my P90 from him. Great guy, showed me what to expect and all.

Highly recommended.

I am proud of you and I hope I can make a similar thread very soon. You can spray that motor pretty well and there are some great swaps for it if you decide to keep it.

I'll swear off VAG for life. My German car fascination is Porsche, and that is all. I respect the Audi cars, but never again to I ever want another car I cannot figure out/work on myself. I kick myself every day for not sticking with URABUS. If it doesn't have a warranty I wouldn't consider it. Even then, it will most likely have problems so you better have a backup.

I tried VAG, paid my dues, said fuck a Kraut-mobile and will soon be moving on.

The fool that sent me the ECU confirmed with me it was for an S4 multiple times before I bought it and it was not. I am waiting to see what he is going to do about it. Depending on his answer, the car will be sold/traded/parted as-is.

Got myself an M box. Need to recode it to H and then we'll see what happens.

The right way to do it from there is take it to a GIAC dealer and let them put the updated tune on it. Apparently there have been four updates since mine was incepted.

According to a guy who has a time slip and an identically modded car (except he has drag slicks) went from an 11.4 time slip to 10.7 just off a re-tune and new clutch, and of course the tires.

I might just toss the chip on the board and not re-tune it. I am beyond done dealing with it and have some great trades lined up.

We have completely different perspectives on this. And that's fine, I just know what I know from what I've actually seen.

I have real world experience and you have classroom experience.

I've been hit in the head multiple times with a lead pipe and I'm still here. Yes, I probably could have been hurt or died, but that didn't happen.

I'm not saying I can't be wrong, but I have been in a lot of different situations with knives, guns, bats, machine guns, etc pointed at me and I'm still here.

If you want to just pull guns on people that's fine, but realize it can be the wrong move and realize there is always someone who can pull that trigger faster and more accurately than you can. Pulling a gun out doesn't necessarily mean you have the advantage in the situation at all. I've seen plenty of people proven wrong by this and a lot of them are cops.

I absolutely believe that. If you pull it, you should have the intent to use it. Although, if you pull your gun and people back off, are you still going to use it?

 

Let's say someone, your friend maybe, is getting jumped by 3 guys with baseball bats. Are you just going to pull out the weapon and start shooting them even if they start running off after seeing you are armed?

You know the answer to that. I wouldn't have pulled out my gun. There are plenty of other ways to deal with a situation like that than pull a gun. I'm not afraid to take a hit from a baseball bat, I've taken much worse than that before. Once they introduce a gun into the situation, then I'll pull mine unless I feel like carving a fool up. I'm not saying I am billy bad ass, but I have seen enough and personally been a part of enough to know how to resolve serious situations without the use of a firearm.

I don't mind the keyboard, especially after having probably the worst "swype" phone ever, the Cliq XT. I don't have huge fingers and I cannot use it properly, but can on other phones. The screen is ridiculously small for a touchscreen only phone.

I am jealous, I am still on 1.5 OS on this blur. I miss Nav so much!
