  1. I'm always impressed with high quality wraps like these, looks like they have the process down to a science.
  2. Don't worry, I have you covered with the trunk mount.
  3. I defintely agree some RAID is better then no RAID, but along side Jone's post, I like to focus on the disk substructure as a whole. Everything from drive to controller, and as minute as stripe size.
  4. Spend the extra bones on two 10K+ (SATA) or 15K+ SCSI drives & controllers, you'll saturate most integrated bus chipsets quite quick - giving up most of the RAID benefits. Dare I even bring up Solid State...
  5. Welcome to the AR world, keep it clean, keep it oiled. YHM produces some decent equpiement, tactikool or not.
  6. Just don't take to much of those stock options.
  7. They have range control (old timer in a shante) who checks your pass. They dont sell admission at the range so you have to use the wildlife's website to print up a pass. Theres a cease fire after so long which is mutually agreed upon by the shooters, walk out and place your targets as all bolts are locked to the rear and shooters step away until an all clear is called.
  8. The longest Ive seen is Thunder Valley by Cambridge. 1000yd...kinda pricey...but looks like a well kept range
  9. They don't have any outdoor rifle, just skeet/trap/ehaw stuff. There are two sides to the indoor, 6 or so lanes for rifles, 6 on the other side for pistol. I'm fairly sure the pistol lanes are a tad shorter. Delaware State Park has a great outdoor rifle range, think its 100m? Pay per day, sub 20$
  10. Building yet another AR from a spare parts laying in safe, anyone out there have the hookup on the hotness?
  11. Optics are like scotch, you want top shelf taste - open your wallet. There are alot of brands out there, but I wouldnt buy one without comparing to a top shelf and seeing how it holds together based of some assesments from the field. Everything starts off with a purpose - knowing what you'll be doing with your weapon and it's capabilities should be major factors in your purchase.
  12. I started out with an old clunky M9, while I have moved to an XD9 - I felt the FN was comfortable. I really give a thumbs up to Jone's post. Raptor Jesus on Meth can get some from the trunk mount....
  13. You know - I had read about the M110 in Army Times and asked the retention Officer and NCOIC who came from 101st and said they were using the "new" M14 in training. I guess they come complete from Springfield with bipod and optic out of box? Final qualification is appearently done @ 800 to 1200 meters - which I'm pumped if theres any truth in that. Either way, if there's an excuse to get range time I wont even care if they give me a m16usket. Rear Echelon Functional Area = ftl
  14. Just got word my airborne slot had to been ate up since my new orders were cut to Benning, but I was able to slide into a SQDM slot. They are fielding the new M14 which is suppoused to be the hot shit when situations arise. Only bummer is they arent field serviceable, but I guess that is a sign on how tight everything is.
  15. All for a lighter rifle in a 6.8 or .308 config - the added weight from the mags would be worth the power trade off in my rear echelon opinion
  16. They make great trench rifles, very low/no maintaince rifles.
  17. Most of the $ you pay for accurizing is in the labor -- truing everything, lapping, crowning, making sure everything is absoulte center. Most of your working tolerances are set in the thousandths. I like the Remington trigger so I rock it @ 2 & 1/2 lbs. The barrel is swapped over to a cryoed Krieger 18", stock is changed to a bedded McMillian. It's sort of a dyno queen that makes it out once a blue moon, but it's nice to have incase the zombies come and theres an opening for platoon snipers
  18. AMEN. I bought a bare bones 700 off of gun trader and sent it out to Mike @ Tac Ops -- I paid a pretty penny (x,xxx) but there's a target with a 2" center to center grouping shot from 750 yards off a bipod and sandbag. Before sending it out, it was around 1-1.55" groupings @ 100 yards on Federal Match 168 gr BTHP.
  19. Yet there are numerous stage 3/76/etc 50 trims putting 350-400+WHP down on a variety of small displacement engines in the 2.5 and above pressure ratios? On a .63 or .82 AR turbine, and sub 800$ price tag, it's a cheap and effective turbo.
  20. For 800whp worth of prolonged E85 use, that's some serious injector/pump/etc.
  21. Ahh, I don't speak Ford well. A well built pair of T3/T4 50 Trims could put you in the zip code, response and spool should be quick enough for "street" duty with a manual trans. 800 whp is alot of airflow, even with good heads you'll most likely be running a decent amount of boost -- nothing some race gas can't fix
  22. It's rare you find one, my guess would be due to the size, but Aeromotive makes their Stealth Fuel Cell's with the pumps built in. I would strongly consider Bosch 044's...they are legends when it comes to pumps. Either way, opt for in-tank if possible.
  23. By connecting pins 87 and 30 on the actual Fuel Pump Relay, not the speed control relay, the pump will engage regardless of any outside influence (theft deterrent, PCM line driver, etc). This is how alot of us drain the tank for race gas. Here's a VIN 1 diagram (has the SPD Control relay) to add to Rob's.... http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/2077/001yde.jpg
  24. Try using a jumper wire on the Fuel Pump Relay (to the inside of the FP SPD Control Relay), might help sorting things out... Edit: Pin 87 to 30
