I know of no such .17hmr round or .22wmr round that comes loaded sub-sonic. What are you trying to do exactly? For what it's worth, I think the .17hmr is one of the greatest rounds ever invented, and absolutely LOVE mine.

Standing on a clean indoor firing line and throwing a round or two down-range every few seconds is not running a gun hard. Want to test it out? Go throw it in a sloppy mud puddle with the magazine out and the slide open. Throw a loaded mag in and drop the slide. Then report back to us on how well it functions.

I don't remember what profile barrel the Mythbusters used, but that appeared to be a sporter profile barrel, which are thin to begin with. I've seen other guns that have done the same thing. It's definitely not unheard of.

Looks like the bottom is coated in that special paint (forget what it's called) that they use on the bottom of sail boats and shit. I guess it's supposed to keep the mussels from sticking to the bottom.
