  1. Full disclosure: I haven't watched a single bit of the news or video on this (been working), but has their been any actual violence? All I keep seeing are photos posted of a bunch of rednecks walking around with their flags, snapping selfies, and sitting in other people's offices.

Honest question; what was the violence? What are people doing besides trespassing on federal grounds?

  2. I run a DuraHeat 200k btu propane heater in my 30x40 pole barn and it's the cat's ass. I have it tied into my main 500gal propane tank so I don't have to constantly refill smaller tanks or worry about them freezing up; highly recommend this. I also prefer that its a convection heater and not blowing hot air all over the place like a torpedo does. However, it cannot be thermostatically controlled, but it can be regulated pretty easily.
  3. I'm gonna throw another oddity into the mix, the PWS T3 Summit. 10/22 framework, toggle action, carbon wrapped barrel, perfect suppressor candidate. I built one but shelved the project (among many) for now. Still need to shim the barrel (time consuming) mount the scope, and throw on a suppressor.
  4. 0 fucks given.

I am one who actually liked watching movies in theaters, however, I certainly would prefer they just be direct to digital. In today's age, there's really no reason to push them into theaters first, that I am aware of. Let's just skip that nonsense and bring them straight to my living room. I feel like this has been a long time coming and the pandemic just forced it to happen sooner.

Hollywood has been a steaming pile of shit for years now. Hopefully this gets them back on track of putting out some quality content instead of billion dollar blockbusters which are all the same. Oh, and maybe Michael Bay will get COVID and die. That would help.

  5. I'm choosing to listen to CDC recommendations

I'm not saying they're wrong, but certainly don't take everything they say as gospel. I can't speak for the COVID pandemic, but I can certainly tell you that those fuckers were just grasping at straws with what to do during the looming Ebola outbreak a few years back.

I've found that the general public feels that 'The Powers That Be' have all the answers and guidance. In reality, you'll find that a lot of them are human just like the rest of us and often times don't have a clue what to do. If they came out and just said "We don't know", can you imagine the panic? It's often times best, relatively educated, guess.

I realize its all we've got to work with, so do with it what you will.

I never posted about it here before, but this was the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting. The guy was an extremist that thought Trump wasn't far enough to the right, but that doesn't exonerate Trump from fueling this man's ideology. He used Trump's words of a migrant invasion, and subscribed to conspiracy theories (fueled by Trump, other Republicans, like Matt Gaetz, and right wing media) that the migrant caravan was organized by opposition groups to make Trump look bad before mid-term elections and was being paid for by George Soros, who is constantly used as an antisemitic trope.

The migrant caravan was portrayed by Trump and his allies as an existential threat to the American way of life, a plot to invade the country with immigrant minorities and give them voting rights. It played right into white supremacists replacement theory, then added Soros (aka the Jews) as the puppet master pulling the strings.

There has been a huge rise in white supremecy and antisemitism under Trump, and it's no coincidence. It's been fueled by his rhetoric. He spreads fear. He creates an enemy that motivates people to take sides; good vs evil. And some people take it as a call to arms.

My dad's death was 2 years (to the day) of my great aunt's funeral.

I'm certainly sorry to hear about your situation; its awful. I'm also not condoning what Trump may or may not have said. He says a lot of stupid shit.

But, the fact that we put blame on the guy for what some whackjob did is reaching a bit and looking for a scapegoat, IMO. Did Trump tell him to go do that? No. Did he even suggest it? No. The guy was a nutcase whether Trump was president or not. He took what Trump said, and twisted it into his own perversion. I put this in line with blaming guns for mass shootings. Those fuckers were crazy before they got ahold of a gun. Quit trying to place blame on something or someone besides the individual that committed the heinous act.

there have also been OpEd's in the media that say the same.

    OpEds? Seriously?

  6. Meanwhile.. the shitter is full. Is this the head lines on Parler these days?

I count no less than 5 Trudeau books on that Canuck's shelves. I also find that a bit disturbing.

And what the fuck is Parler? I keep seeing it pop up but have no idea what it is.

  7. 1. Tacoma. Probably easiest to find but expect tater pricing. Known reputation.

    2. Wait a bit for a moderate mileage Gladiator to come up for sale. Still expect tater pricing. You might get lucky and find one in the mid $20ks, especially if you're looking at a no-frills Sport model. Unknown long-term reliability, but I think you'll be alright.

  8. Fear based media trying to control the sheep. Don't live in fear, we have rights.

And a Supreme Court conservative majority.

I don't believe anything will get through, but I'm not naive enough to think they won't try.

  9. It's frustrating that the "sane" Republicans have been willing to indulge Trump's lunacy for 4 years with this same rationale. Like, yeah, they can say it's all theatrics at this point, and Trump isn't actually planning a soft coup, and "the system worked" because the courts have smacked him down. But at the same time, this episode has caused lasting damage to our country.

We have "Stop the Steal" protests across the country. Election officials in I think almost all of these battleground states, mostly Republicans themselves, have been receiving death threats and are being provided with extra security protection. Election officials! The least controversial government job imaginable. We've got Republican legislatures proposing banning mail-in voting altogether. And we've got a riled-up electorate who's going to view Biden's entire term as illegitimate, which will therefore excuse no amount of political bullshittery and/or tearing down our political institutions in order to oppose anything he does.

It may have been theatrics for the Republican powers-that-be, but it was certainly not theatrics for a lot of Trump voters.

    But Russia

  10. I'm over the wind this year. My house is on the East side of a large field and just gets obliterated by 55mph gusts on the regular. I spent several hours the other day chasing polycarbonate panels from my new greenhouse all across the county.
  11. Currently have a Large BGE. Does a great job but its a lot of babysitting. I have intentions of buying a Pitboss KC combo platinum series and building a whole outdoor cooking station sometime in the future. I'd like to integrate the pellet grill, my Large BGE, a mini BGE, my Blackstone griddle (loooove this thing, BTW), and a discada cooking station. Will not be a small project so its gonna be awhile.
