Ok, I've been wanting to get into video editing for awhile now. Mainly to try and make some cool videos of cars and such. So, I bought a new Sony DCR-HC30 Digital video camera, Mini DV, Can record directly onto memory disk (256mb), all kinds of neat little things. Anyways, I'm having some problems getting the vids from the camera onto my computer. First of all, do I need any special type of software/hardware to be able to take the footage off of the tape, and put it onto the computer? So far, I have been unsuccessful at doing so. Also, I can't seem to get the stuff off of the memory card onto the computer either with the supplied software and cables. The computer can't seem to 'see' that the camera is there. It came with a simple USB transfer cable, but has the option to buy an I-Link(?) cable(Whatever that is) Do I need to buy the I-Link cable to be able to transfer the footage? I skimmed through the manual looking for something that might explain it, but it's either not there, or I missed it. One of my friends, said that I needed a special video card to be able to transfer the stuff. Also, I installed the software on my stepdad's laptop, and he's claiming the software wiped out all of his USB ports. I found this hard to believe at first, but then realized, that maybe that's why the computer couldn't see the camera on my computer. BTW, What kind of tranny is he running, and who built it? I know the vipers run T-56's, but the highest HP rated T-56 I've ever seen is built by G-Force trannys, and that was only rated at 900hp. Anyone know the answer?

Hey Ant, I've heard people say to stay away from those, because they fall apart or something. I was told they're made out of cheap plastic and that's why. Just a heads-up. But I, too, looked into them for my T/A to set it apart a little bit. Get that hood on there! That'll make it different. Leave it red too, for the holidays. smile.gif

A guy by the name of 'yellow snake' on here has one. '98 I believe. He's rarely on here though. Not sure what all is done to it. I've heard it's got a 200 shot on it though. Not sure if there's any truth to that.

Maybe he did actually have his lowbeams on. My mom gets brighted all the time in her mercedes, even though she has the low beams on. They're just really frikkin bright. The highbeams are like instant sunlight.

My mom's B-day is coming up and I always get her the same boring stuff. But this year I had the idea to get her a gift certificate to get a massage or something? Any good ideas on where to send her? haha! funny you should mention this. My friend tried to 'drift' his RWD car the the other day, and NAILED a 1.5' tall boulder. Totally fucking up his rocker panel and taking his passenger rear tire, and bending the suspension so that the tire is pressed against the rear inner fender. I had to go pick him up because the car was barely driveable. I think the suspension might be fixable, but I see no way to get that dent out of the rocker panel. It amazingly did no damage to the door, so I think he said he's gonna put sideskirts on it now to cover it up. I'd hope he learned his lesson, but I from the way he talked, I don't think he did.

My dad has a Colt AR15, and mentioned the other day that he was thinking of getting new 'A2 Uppers' for it while the assult weapons ban was lifted, since he figured they'ed be cheaper now. He mentioned that they used to be pretty expensive. I was thinking of getting whatever 'A2 uppers' were, for him for Christmas. I need to know some things about AR's first. What's the difference between Pre and Post ban? What can you do with Pre-ban stuff, that you can't with Post-ban? What all is included in A2 uppers? Upper receiver? barrel? whatelse? What's a good place to buy this from? How much am I looking at? Thanks.
