  1. The teenagers were acting in a criminal manner. As a result, it's difficult to defend them, and a bit less difficult to feel sorry for them. However, the homeowner/shooter sounds psychopathic, based on what I've read in the article. And, by psychopathic, I mean psychopathic in the proper usage of the term: callous, unempathic, calculating, and sadistic. Did the teenagers deserve to be shot? I don't know, but I know it's difficult to argue against them crying foul if they were. Did the homeowner act criminally? Again, I don't know - I'm not a cop, a lawyer, a judge, or a jury - but it sure seems like he acted immorally. From his description, he seemed to relish in executing two trespassers - which goes way beyond what I think is the spirit of the law, which is that you are allowed to defend your home/your life.
  2. Here are some others - won't give you the mascot though: Tulsa Massachusetts Stanford
  3. Tulane is one of those teams that has a mascot that doesn't end in an "S." Can you name the others? No cheating. Here, I'll do a second; add to the list as you go. Tulane Green Wave Notre Dame Fighting Irish
  4. In reflecting, it strikes me - and I've said this before - we actually managed to upgrade coaches after a scandal and a firing. Can anyone remember anything like this happening? I think the only reason why the Ohio State Hater Brigade hasn't been more vocal this year is because they know we're banned from post-season play, which kind of takes the sting out of Meyer's stellar entrance. I really, really like Meyer. I like his "fuck you" attitude, and I find his candor refreshing. Unlike Tressel, who was fine, but could never answer a fucking question directly, Meyer will just give it you straight - and I agree with his assessments. I like where this team is headed. I think Meyer and Ohio State could be on the verge of something special. Of course, time will tell. But, I like our chances - and I guess that's as much as you can ask for as a fan of a team, right?
  5. They are referring to his first year - or 2010, I think. (Not sure if those are one in the same, or even if either is accurate.) Meaning, it's not this year they are asking for a medical redshirt on, but a year or two ago when he only played like three games because of a back injury or something.
  6. Rutgers - get accepted into B1G, immediately lose. HONORING LEGENDS, BUILDING LOSERS
  7. Awesome - maybe in the next four years he can find a way to get past midfield in the second half of games...
  8. Yeah if Ohio State curbstomps Michigan - like they could have - maybe it's a different story in the AP.
  9. This was pretty good. Haters guide to the B1G for Maryland fans: http://misterirrelevant.com/index.php/2012/11/20/the-haters-guide-to-the-big-ten-for-terps-fans-guest-post/
  10. Oh wait didn't see Jason post. Sorry. This thread is now "Blogging With Johnny with Occasional Interruption by Jason."
  11. This thread is now "Blogging About Football With Johnny."
  12. Jason - I honestly think ND can hang with anyone. They remind me of the '02 Ohio State team. Wags - LOL, seriously. I often thought that when ND played Michigan - is it possible for two teams playing to simultaneously lose?
  13. I was really hoping for a Kansas State - Oregon NCG, but they both choked. Now I get to look forward to a ND - SEC game - kill me now.
  14. Jason - agreed - if it were up to me, I'd get Hyde 30 carries a game. He's big and strong and seems to get better as the game wears on. He also doesn't fumble. He kind of reminds me of Eddie George, considering his size. Craig - I was kind of disappointed by the unis. I didn't care for the green helmet stickers especially. Josh - yup watching Florida-FSU game. I'm pulling for FSU.
  15. Yup, pretty much says it all. Fuck you, CFB.
  16. Yeah, he seems to have regressed a bit the last few games regarding his running. I'm not sure if that's because of the defenses/defensive schemes that have been run lately or what, but I've noticed myself being frustrated with his play the last two weeks. And dude, get longer cleats. He only slipped like four different times. *I realize I'm nit-picking. We just went undefeated with a team that finished last season 6-7. I don't think we have a legitimate NC contending team (though I'd like our chances against ND) and I don't think we're AP #1 material. But I also heart our coach and think the future looks very, very bright.
  17. 1. Carlos Hyde should get 20 touches per game. 2. We should have won by 14+ points. Oh well, fuck it. 3. Defense played as good as I've ever seen the second half of that game. Ever.
