  1. If we are fortunate enough to win the NC, all three QBs will be revered in Ohio State lore forever. Braxton: the fallen hero. We'll talk up how great he would have been had he not been injured and there'll be cases made about how he would have gave Mariotta a run for his money for the Heisman. Everyone will just assume that Ohio State would have done really well had Braxton been at the helm. In this vein, everyone will universally agree that we beat Virginia Tech with Braxton as the QB. JT: the rising, shining star. We will probably embrace him more than the other two for the simple fact that (1) he was so absolutely lights out great this season and (2) he got hurt. "If not for JT," we'll say, "then we probably don't win the NC this year." Cardale: the savior. When all hope was lost with JT's fractured ankle, Cardale came in and saved the day. What did this kid do? Oh, nothing, other than never have a start or even meaningful game time action only then to be thrust into a rivalry game when the outcome is still in doubt, then play against Wisconsin on a huge stage and not only have to win, but win convincingly to keep the playoff hopes alive, then for an encore go to SEC territory and knock off the SEC/CFB kingpins in Alabama, and then to beat the juggernaut that is Oregon and MM. Think about Cardale's resume for a second. Think about what it must have been like. Dude was likely munching on Doritos on the sidelines of the Michigan game when JT gets hurt. Even if we don't beat Oregon, this season has been an overwhelming success for so many different reasons. I feel very fortunate to be an Ohio State fan right now. Our future is very bright, and our recent past has been something of legend. I don't mind whatsoever puffing my chest out a little bit.
  2. You guys who know the pro/draft stuff, let me know if this sounds right: Braxton sits down with his inner circle. If they decide that his best chance in the NFL if as a QB, then he either (a) transfers to a school for a more pro-friendly offense or (b) competes for starting job and then transfers if he loses out. If, though, they decide his best chance is to be as a receiver or something other than an QB, then he stays at Ohio State and embraces that role there. Does that sound reasonable?
  3. I think I will watch game at Bar 145 in Grandview. Anyone want to join?
  4. Mods/Admins, please feel free to lock this thread. v9.0 is operational.
  5. IIRC, Ohio State was the home team in '06, but chose to wear the white unis because they had done so well in the white unis in previous trips to Arizona - '02 against Miami, '04 against Kansas State, and '05 against Notre Dame. They were the home team again in 2007, but opted to wear red because of getting manhandled the year before by Florida wearing the whites.
  6. Nice. Expect a call from me in the spring. Fortunately, we also have a SUV in the household, so I don't have to worry about driving it in inclement weather. (As an aside, I live so close to where I work that Uber-ing it is a very viable alternative.) However, I did have it out last night, and I was surprised how it made it up an inclined alley covered with ice very near my house. Agreed. It's not like it "hits" really hard at any one point, but it pulls robustly at just about every point.
  7. So, Schlabach spends an entire article finding ways of antagonizing Ohio State/the B1G by claiming to apologize for his antagonism. Solid troll, Schlabach.
  8. Closer to $40K. Yeah, no lube for previous owner. I got this at a phenomenal price. I think all the planets aligned for it to happen. Or, this car was used to murder someone and that just hasn't shown up on the Carfax yet.
  9. Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding was viewed by like 1 billion people. Josh: "OHIO STATE AND BAMA WAS WATCHED BY 14 BILLION PEOPLE WORLDWIDE AND BEYOND"
  10. It's a 2014. It has 15K miles. Yeah, the white exterior - black interior is exactly what I wanted. There for a hot minute, I considered going with an oyster (white) interior, but I know how that turns out: looking like shit eventually even with light wear and tear. (The oyster interior was on a good deal M5 I was looking at, but the one I got turned out to be an even better deal.) I'll try to get some interior shots. Right now, with the weather, I'm not all that motivated to play photographer.
  11. I share the same sentiment about car colors. No pictures of the interior yet. Black interior with dark wood trim. Interior is in immaculate condition. Whole car is, really. Also, to add, I'm particularly pleased with it's stance. Very aggressive, but not too much. I don't feel compelled to lower it at all. Also, the car sounds great. I know a lot of F10 M5 guys have complained about the lack of exhaust note at WOT, but I think it sounds fine. I might become bored with it eventually, but for now I don't have any issues with it.
  12. Those white unis for Oregon look great. I'm not sure how I feel about the black number on the shoulder pads. Oh well, at least we aren't wearing the retarded Tron numbers-for-visually-impaired neon-green buckeye leaf abomination unis.
  13. I was thinking this same thing and was hoping they'd just allow both to wear home jerseys.
  14. Thanks everyone for the kind words. I had a chance to open it up a bit yesterday. I'm impressed with how hard it pulls at freeway speeds. I love it so far. It drives a lot smaller than what it is, and it feels really planted to the road. The steering is about as good as anything I've ever owned (and this despite the fact that a lot of car pundits have taken the F10 M5 to task for its lack of steering feel, etc.). I've taken particular pleasure in the fact that I can get the back end loose with some throttle. (I haven't had that since the Z06, and I forgot how much I missed it.) There's something invigorating about having a car right on the edge of being out of control. Let's hope my next thread isn't: My Daily Driver Found Its Way into a Tree
  15. :o Thank you! Also, I contemplated the manual, but this particular M5 (an auto) was such a good deal that I couldn't pass it up. And, like you said, the autos are faster anyway.
  16. Huge thanks to Jordan at JET Auto for helping me find my next daily driver. I ultimately decided to go with the M5 after determining that I likely would be left wanting by the performance of the 535i or 550i. Go big or go home, I guess? In any event, I'm very happy with the purchase and I'm enjoying the car so far. Car already has it's first mod: I swapped out the stock wheels for 395M's. Next up: probably some light tint, and maybe at some point an intake, exhaust, and tune. http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh186/tilley614/M51_zpsd133b474.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh186/tilley614/M52_zps4730b8cb.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh186/tilley614/M53_zps3ca723e5.jpg
  17. So, I now know what the rest of CR already knew: Jordan and JET Auto are phenomenal. He is easily the best car salesman with which I have ever worked. For the sake of reference, I've purchased at least 20 different cars. On this occasion, I bought a 2014 M5. Jordan was so much better than any previous salesman that it's kind of sad, really. He was great, treated me more like a colleague than a potential buyer, and never pressured me to buy. He got me the car I wanted at a phenomenal price. The rest of the staff at JET are equally as awesome. Here's the bottom line: the next car I purchase will be from JET Auto. That's probably the highest recommendation I can give - that they've definitely earned my repeat business. http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh186/tilley614/M51_zpsd133b474.jpg
  18. On watching the replay of the Oregon-FSU game, I've managed to get through the first quarter. Some thoughts: -FSU was actually gashing Oregon for fairly sizable runs on a regular basis in the 1QTR. Specifically, it looks like they were just running some basic sweeps - running to the outside of the tackles. -FSU looked shaky in 1QTR. Miss-handled snaps, Winston kind of flailing around at times, etc. They didn't look very sharp. -Oregon didn't look exactly sharp either in 1QTR. MM missed a couple of throws (one of which was a sure TD, and he overthrew the open receiver) and Oregon committed a couple of silly penalties that kept FSU's drives alive. -Oregon's hurry up is like the ultra hurry up. They don't just run it to keep you in a base defense - they run it with the apparent intention of making you have a stroke and die.
  19. I'm going to watch a replay of the Oregon-FSU game. I watched the replay of the Ohio State-Alabama game yesterday. I'd also like to watch a replay of the Michigan State-Baylor game. Also, been reading that Baylor was acting like whiners that whole game, that Briles is insufferable, etc.
  20. That is crazy. Also if Oregon wins, they will have beaten like 7 top 15 teams, or some crazy shit like that. It would be a really good resume. Michigan State's only losses? Yup, you got it. And guess which two teams played for the first NCAA championship in basketball in 1939? Yup.
  21. Yup absolutely - dumb of me to forget them.
  22. Oh give it time, my friend. By kickoff I will be whimpering and panicked. :fuuuu:
  23. What the hell? Beyond their punter, there wasn't anyone on Alabama's team that was clearly superior to Ohio State in the same position. Cooper is all world, but we made him look fairly average last night. For the sake of the (dumb) argument, I wonder which 6? All these guys would start at Bama right now: - any of our 3 QBs - dontre Wilson - Jalin Marshall - Elliot - Devin smith - Thomas - Corey smith - Darren lee
