  1. Likely victor: Utah, because USC, Oklahoma, and Auburn "didn't really want to be there." :gabe:
  2. Oklahoma was also undefeated that year - and went on to get manhandled by USC in the title game. I suspect Auburn would have gotten jacked just as badly; little crying War Eagles should be thankful they got left out of the title game.
  3. Yes, but the tallest midgets are still midgets. AMIRITE? For the record, I agree with you that Boise played over their heads (no [continuation] pun intended) in the BCS games. However, in a one-game scenario, that's possible. It's much more difficult to do when week in and week out you're playing high levels of competition. You agree with me there, right? Also, awesome fact about being underdogs.
  4. Luckily, though, the Big XII is, in all of their forward, progressive thinking. ONE TWO TEAMS
  5. Josh: 1 DJ: -1,692 (most of your points were lost because you refuse to quote people properly)
  6. Remember all those times the BCS used recruiting class rankings to determine bowl eligibility? Wait, no, they used other criteria, didn't they? Thought so.
  7. Yeah, but remember the teams Boise State played during the regular season to make it to a BCS bowl? Yeah, no one else does either, but they played teams like Groveport Madison Middle School South.
  8. Nope, joke's on you: Big XII would send both TCU and Baylor to the playoff, making a Devastator-like 187-man intermingled roster featuring awesome offense sets, like Bryce Petty handing off to Boykin who then throws a pass back to Petty.
  9. What I found refreshing this year that would have plagued the BCS system was the influx of retarded teams like Marshall that work their way up the polls and into the BCS simply as a product of not losing. Remember all the years of having to hear whining about Boise State?
  10. Spurrier is probably more a of a massive troll than just a flat out jerk.
  11. Dantonio, Saban, Bellicheck - all come across as gratuitous dicks. Like, I get it, sometimes the media is annoying and you get testy in pressers every now and again, but there's no real excuse for being a dick all of the time. Guys, you're making millions of fucking dollars - quit acting like your job and your life sucks. Edit: Spurrier is in there too.
  12. WTF Ferentz coach of the year? GTFO with that shit, can't be true.
  13. ONE TRUE CHAMPIONS -BIG XII CONFERENCE
  14. I hope GT rolls FSU for several reasons. They won't, though, because Florida State will continue it's trolling brilliance.
  15. If we beat Wisconsin, and everyone else wins, I think we are in. Baylor and TCU are going to cancel each other out. TCU has been ranked higher than Baylor for a while now, but Baylor holds the head-to-head win. So, who do you rank higher in the end? Also, neither TCU nor Baylor will play a championship game, which I think is the biggest deal when considering where they all land in the final rankings. If the committee is to be believed and have any credibility, they must give at least a little weight to championship games. When they do, then that gives Ohio State the nod. Also, everyone is kind of down on Ohio State right now because of the uncertainty surrounding Cardale Jones. However, if Ohio State beats Wisconsin, then I'm sure the narrative will be something like, "See, Ohio State just reloads, look at all that talent" and "Cardale almost beat out JT for starter position after Braxton went down, so he has to be pretty good," and "Cardale is the third best QB, but he's backing up two QBs that are legitimate Heisman candidates - thus, how do we know Cardale isn't a Heisman candidate himself?!?" and things like that. Meaning, the win over Wisconsin will take away that uncertainty and give the committee confidence that Cardale can keep the team playing at a high level. If Ohio State loses, well, then that decision becomes all that easier. The committee will be fucked if Ohio State loses but everyone else wins, as then they'll be forced to pick between TCU and Baylor, and that's a no-win situation for them. Ohio State at the #4 gives the committee an "out" if you will. Also, like Josh said, this comes down to money in some respects. Don't think the committee isn't wondering how the marquee will look. Ohio State versus Alabama in the first ever playoff game has a certain cache to it - far more than, say, Alabama versus Baylor.
  16. Honestly, if my team's in the playoffs, then I want them beating the perceived best teams. That way, if my team wins it, then there is no doubt that they earned it. BTW, if we beat Wisconsin, and then beat Bama, I can guarantee you Oregon or FSU or whoever else was waiting for us in NC game would be shitting in their pants.
  17. My dream scenario: Cardale is enough of a game manager to keep us viable, our defense comes through big at key moments, we make a run and win the NC. I guarantee you all three QBs - Braxton, JT, and Cardale - would become icons in this town for different reasons. Braxton as the fallen hero (that we'd all assume would have led us to the NC had he not got hurt), JT (for obvious reasons), and Cardale (as the unsung hero that came through in the clutch for us). /dreaming Back to reality: let's just beat Wisconsin.
  18. Jive is going to cut his wrists when my mighty MIZZOU Tigers curb stomp Bama. Bloomington Indiana will then rejoice as Kings of the SEC.
  19. Tressel at Nebraska would be weird and great and terrible all at the same time.
  20. Don't make a perma ban bet. This thread is better with both of you (jive and josh) in it. Do the avatar bet and something else.
  21. Lost in this crazy season is how good Elliot has been and is as a RB. IMO, there hasn't been any drop off in quality after Hyde, which is saying a lot since I think Hyde was a stud. I'm amped that Elliot is only a sophomore and thus likely has at least one year left.
  22. The B12 hasn't played defense since the mid 1990s.
