I think that's what AR guys (in particular) have been doing for a long time Buy a stripped lower receiver and you can buy every part to make it a gun, over the counter The lower receiver is what requires paperwork

The norincos are really nice @ $400.00 or so Put 100 or 200 into it and you'll have a gun that rivals a kimber - or leave as is A lot of 'professional' shooters buy and customize a Norinco and save $$, rather than buy and customize a kimber

I actually like the feel of a PPK too (which is surprising, for how little it is) Despite what I hear about them jamming...just a matter of proper break-in (i've also heard)

Already sold the turbo now that I sold the TV, here's the rest! Any T6 turbo will work - S400, TV series detroit diesel turbos, etc I'll sell all this stuff, basically...for the cost of parts. Tons of work, collecting parts, shipping costs and custom welding = free I don't think you'll find a much easier way to go about it. I tried to make this as compact as possible, so it'll work on any setup i ever went with - just plumb to it I used my own exhaust manifolds, so you'll have to make your own I about lost a damned finger grinding the hole for the wastegate in that merge transition. 1/2" angle grinders are bad mofo's! Big, new Wastegate (a cheaper one, but new...and big) 60mm i think? I have two extra springs as well, for it Merge is a flowmaster piece, with a mandrel river transition to it. All welded and transitioned pretty nicely to a T6 3/8" mild steel flange Wastegate i think is SS steel - had it custom welded to the mild Two expensive corrugated inner flexes (the good kind) 2.5 mild steel piping - assorted types....with some v-band connections You'll have to do some modifications, of course...to fit whatever headers you use I probably have some various pieces like a copper T6 flange i'll throw in Also, a 90 degree 5" downpipe (add $50 for this if you want it) So anyway, $350, $400 with the 5" mandrel downpipe The flowmaster piece was $70 Mandrel river transition was 25 The wastegate was $100 The t6 flange was 25, copper flange 5.00 or so corrugated flex = can't remember, $100 or so - might have been more and there's 2 or 3 v-bands that were 30/piece not counting mandrel 2.5" mild steel and other pieces....nor welding costs And took me a solid month to make All sandblasted inside, i tried to grind most welds clean inside, before moving to the next weld - etc etc. Not the best job, but it'll get you going quick I may be 'obo', but i thought i'd post here before i took it to TurboMustangs for sale section I suppose I could separate the flex pipes - $80.00 off if you don't want those two pieces can e-mail pics of the stuff I'm not in Columbus terribly often

If you are looking for a nice AR-15 without the markup?
baron_ replied to 1fast5gp's topic in Other Stuff
that makes a bit of sense, then I swear I'd seen DMPS cast lowers in the past, which is confirmed by that...and maybe given me a bad impression I remember quite a few friends complaining about quality with the old 'investment grade cast lowers' -

+2 I swear i've seen cast lowers that were DPMS And I find it hard to believe their price is $15 over cost. Source? It's a silly argument, though... At this point in time, it's a decent deal if you can even get one RRA is nice, though -

I don't think DPMS is included in one of those And still think it's a cast lower, produced in Becker, MN One of the ways they make 'em rather cheaply but maybe I'm wrong Still a nice gun for the price About $100 overpriced, but doesn't seem like we're going to find anything that cheap for a while -

panther lites have a cast lower, don't they? Replace it with a RR lower and you might have a nice weapon ...they were in the 600 - 650 range a few months ago ....still crazy prices I swear....with this economy....prices WILL come down -
nice guy thanks for the pistols

or C&S carbs Occasionally, I have a blowthrough 66/67 gto Blew the engine last time out - putting it back together It's not easy....nor cheap...nor reliable (yet...for me...at least...) There are a dozen different very particular factors with a turbo car to worry about....any one of which will make your engine a coffee table Ask someone if their turbo car is running....the answer is, "Well, it's a turbo car...so...sometimes" I may upgrade to a CSU carb this winter, and will have a spare 750 blowthrough carb Also have headers and intake setup for a turbo sbc But carb basics: A small carb can live on a large engine, compared to na A smallblock 500 HP engine with a turbo might need a 650 - could probably go smaller a 750 holley will support 800 or 900 HP Basically, take a holley and change the parts inside it to withstand boost (nitrophyll floats that won't collapse) and it'll work. MIght not work well. There's a page called "hanger 18" that tells you a lot of the 'accepted' modifications to a holley that work very well. Anyone competent with a holley could potentially do them That's assuming you run a carb hat. You can put a carb in an enclosed box that will pressurize the entire carb, and not need to do a lot of modifications. But they don't run as well as one with a hat. And the box is expensive...and a pain if you want to do modifications BG and Demon, I believe....even make blowthrough carbs now - new But i hear they're more of a headache than they're worth - try your own first and learn about it

I've got two guns I'd potentially trade. I don't normally sell - usually trade...or I'll end up with fewer firearms, which is not a preferable position I'll put prices to comply with the requirements....not 'deals' but i'd be fine selling them for that The first is a very nice Browning Buckmaster .22. The fancy one with adjustable sites, rosewood grips, etc etc Hell of a plinking gun. If this were a Stainless Steel gun, I wouldn't sell it (1.5 years old?) $450 The second is a Charles Daly 20 gauge field grade semi-auto. Matte finish or whatever - very lightweight and nice, fun gun that is awesome...but I don't think I'm doing any more rabbit hunting for a while. $400 It's one season old... Will trade for: Stainless Steel pistols in .38, .45, .357 Will post pictures and more info later

...I've hunted since I was around 14 I've had a mossberg 500, remington 870, remington1100, rem1187 And I settled on the 9200 Enjoy, if you buy a pump. Because...you'll be wishing it were an auto the first time you go hunting There's a mossberg 9200 combo (deer barrel) in the local paper for $400 - seems like a much better deal than a $300 wingmaster but feel free to listen to the other recommenders
