Let me check with my other half...

Ooo, very tempting. I'm interested although I haven't played in years... Edit: Forgot to add that I'd prefer to play on the weekend as it'll be tough to make games during the week. If the consensus is to play during the week then I'll have to bow out.

Pitt has already let Malone go as he's wanting to play the FA field. There was talk of us trading for negotiating rights , but he nixed it saying he wouldn't want to lose potential teammates. I would say he's a little pissed at Pens for letting him go. They've offered him contracts but they were much lower than what he was expecting so he basically said fuck you and left. His father used to work for the organization but left to scout for the 'Yotes, I think. All ties to the Pens have been cut, so we'll see how it all pans out after July 1st. Malone has said that he wouldn't mind coming to Columbus, but we'll wait and see...

We still have the rest of the summer to go after FA's. The draft is just one chunk of it. Umberger is decent and is an upgrade of what we have, but he's not the end all be all. And he most definitely not will not get our boys to the playoffs singlehandedly. I don't think the Jackets went after him solely because of what school he went to/played for, that's just a bonus. Great for the marketing folks. The team was doing pretty well until the trade deadline and we got rid of Foote & Feds. That took a big chunk of leadership out of the room and took the wind right out of their sails. As for Filatov, they went after the best player available once Toronto snapped up Schenn. From what I've read about him, he's not like Z attitude & baggage wise.

I loved the first one and the second, Road Warrior! I hear that Mel won't be in the 4th installment of Mad Max - that he's too old and he's focusing more on film making/directing. Would it really be a Mad Max movie without Mel? Blaspheme!

Got some rep points from the NHL thread...woo! No comment though.

What a hell of a game! I was wondering how long it would go... Back to the Igloo on Weds! Go Pens Go!

Is your copy of XP legal? Microsoft put out that Genuine Advantage stuff out a while ago and if your copy is not legit, none of the updates will install.

I'd like to live in Dublin, Ireland as it seems to be a hip place to live. Maybe New Zealand, Europe (somewhere close to the Alps, Chamonix perhaps?) and Taiwan (as my folks are from there).

Or you can hit up the dairy guys at Krogers too and ask for the egg boxes. They've got holes in the ends for nice handles.

I know, our little one is almost 3 and some of the things he says do blow our minds. It's all pretty crazy, but you do get a feel of how their little minds work which is awesome. I look forward to more of it as he grows up.

Just so you all know, it's on the 19th not the 15th. http://www.hob.com/tickets/searchresults.asp?p=2&venue=House%20of%20Blues%20Cleveland Carry on.

I'm excited about the Philly-Pens series. Should be a good one as Philly really knows how to get under the Pens skin. I would love to see the Pens go all the way, but am wondering if they can overcome Philly's hard charging play.

I think San Jose was looking for more of those intangibles - leadership, heart, etc. He also knows what his role is and is comfortable with sitting on the bench if need be. Cups are won by teams with guys who know their roles and who are wanting to do what ever it takes to win even if that means riding the pine. If that's what they really were looking fro when they got Jody. They certainly got more than enough. We really lost all that when we traded Jody away.

We live down in the Cincy area, West Chester to be exact and we've got no VS. There are other areas in Cincy where VS is available, but not in the 'Chester. Thanks though!

I've been watching all the games online since Time Warner doesn't carry VS where we live now. It's free too! http://myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=4385&part=sports

If you watched the shenanigans closely, you could see Avery's teammate telling him to stop. Pretty funny stuff. It was a borderline line call. I don't know if I would have given him the penalty. He wasn't interfering with Marty, just his sight.

Ottawa did not look good last night against the Pens. That goal by Malkin was pretty sweet! Didn't watch all of the Flames-Sharks game but what I watched was good. The Sharks looked a bit shaky at the beginning though. Kipper really had me wincing when he would come out to play the puck. I don't know if he thinks that he's in Brodeur's realm of puck handling skillz but they got to tell him to stay in his crease.

I know the R Bar right across from Nationwide Arena will probably be showing all play-off games. Mike, the owner, plays and is a huge hockey fan. They don't serve food, but will allow you to bring your own.

I don't know if we would take him back though...with what I've read regarding the direction Howson/Priest/Hitchcock are wanting to go - "win now" & keep the development of players down in Syracuse and go for guys that want to win in the big club. We sure could have used him down the stretch though after Boll & Fritche got injured.

In the West, I really like how San Jose is playing. They were tearing it up in Feb/March. And it would be nice to see Jody hoist the Cup. In the East, I'd like to see Washington tear it up. Ovechkin is the heart and soul of that team. He's unbelievable to watch. The Pens have some great young players in Crosby & Malkin. I can see them winning the series against Ottawa.

I'll probably plant some impatients around our back patio and do the whole vegetable garden thing again along the side of the garage.
