Disregard everything said here. I called and cleared it up and the check is mine to keep. I'm still going to be searching Craigslist and Ebay for those fuckers who stole my doors.

When I spoke with them earlier today, the lady kept saying something about needing a shop confirmation because I have a rental car. I'm confused.

They wrote it out to me and I already deposited it. However, it was one of those draft checks, so it's on hold for a few days in my account. I want to call and ask, but I'm afraid it will alarm them and they'll take the money back.

State Farm wrote me out a check for the doors yesterday. Maybe someone can help me with this: State Farm called me this morning to inform me that I needed to confirm with them which shop would be fitting new doors on my Jeep. I might be wrong, but I was under the impression that they give you the check and let you go on your way to taking care of it yourself. Anyone ever have experience with this?

I wish. I highly doubt they would throw that kind of money at something like this. For now, the adjuster is coming out to my house on Thursday to "assess the situation". I mean, come on, there's either doors or no doors on the Jeep; what exactly are they "assessing"? They gave me a Mazda6 rental. It's actually kinda fun.

Hmmm. Normally, it would be suggested to look in to Obama's new home finance plan, but one of the requirements is that you haven't missed any mortgage payments in at least 12 months. I think the only option she has is to persuade her mortgage company to give her a Repayment plan or a Forbearance agreement. It may just come down that she can't keep the house. In that case, she needs to talk to her foreclosure company about pre-foreclosure selling so that a foreclosure doesn't destroy her credit.

Would you happen to know her annual income and the value of the home?

Lowe's carries the steamer, but for purchase only. I have heard that they don't work too well, though.
