You'd be surprised what a rwd/fwd can do out there if it has tires, I found that out at my first rallycross this past year. Playing in the dirt is damn good fun though.

Late summer would be good, give us plenty of time to get it scheduled and get ourselves prepared for it. Weekday is when were most likely going to be able to get a day and likely cheaper as well. I would aim for a holiday or something that most people might have the day off anyway like "Labor Day" as they tend to not have those days scheduled and we could possible get it cheaper. http://www.Nelsonledges.com Their site still has days on weekends available in August and September and not anywhere all the weekdays are full as well. Some kind of BMW club maybe has Sep.19,20,21 scheduled and maybe we could get a day with them or something also. I have no problem with anyone from anywhere coming to the event with us, "the more the cheaper"!! Thorne, suspension not needed just run what you brung. If my old roommate Ray comes he's in HPDE 4 and could help a lot if he's willing as he's been on Nelson before and spent a lot of time on the tracks last year and won NASA HPDE driver of the year.

Though I have no road course experience yet I have years of autocross experience which I'm told helps a ton and could help in any capacity possible. From the people I talked to at Nelson before they are very friendly and probably would help with the first timers anyway so we don't have anyone driving into a tire wall their first time, and they do group people together by experience and various speed of cars. I agree that Nelson Ledges would be our best bet as it's inexpensive. When I was there the guy rented the track for himself on the 4th of July as the track had nothing scheduled and he got it for far less then $1000(or so he told me), though he was friends with some of the track people but I bet we could get it for no more than a grand or 2 on an off day or a group rate for even less on a fun day. Gray, if your going to blow up your car you might as well have a good reason for it!! :burn:

If anything a Nelson Ledges funday would be our best bet as it's only $120 per car or get in on like the Porsche club renting M/O out. The nice thing about M/O is its proximity, Nelson is a solid 3hr drive up north and Putnam a touch further into Indiana(though it's a beautiful track). Either way I will be at all 3 tracks this season with NASA for their HPDE. Anyone here a member of a club that already has plans to rent a track maybe?? I'm sure they'd be open to discuss sharing as it brings the cost down.

It's several thousand $$. Nelson Ledges can be had for far cheaper though it's 3 times the drive. I've been contemplating a CR track day like this or even a CR autox event. The local SCCA region can basically be rented for a fee and they provide everything we need though this would have to go into the works soon as getting a site to do this can be difficult at times but shouldn't be too hard if it's on a weekday.

Gallipolis is close to 2 hours away. Colby, don't take it too personally as it's easy to get off on a bad foot here. A simple "Hi, I drive (insert car and mods here) and am new here and I'm looking for some action this spring". Trust me as there are plenty of cars here that you can play with and some you can't.

I guess it's possible but I just don't see your mileage getting any better and if your wrong the consequences could be bad if your not careful with it. Just buy a beater that will run whatever so you don't have to event bother with it.

Eventually someone in the governments is going to wake up and realize the best way to get rid of street racing is give people a cheap/free venue to do this stuff. Now I am aware of all the red tape involved but maybe some way, somehow in a perfect society this could happen. What really amazes me is these people actually try to build drag cars out vehicles like Hondas and other fwd cars(that have little power), most have good suspensions and are far better suited to taking the turns than trying to drag launch. Personally I would want to utilize a cars strengths and not waste them but maybe I'm just smarter than a lot of these people.

I like how people blame OSU for not having a more difficult schedule, like it's their fault!! USC will be a huge test for OSU next year, though they don't have as many returning they always have talent. UM could be a big challenge with the spread offense especially if they get Pryor(man I hope we get him) as that kids a beast!!

You can only get faster, make sure to sign up for the Evo School as soon as it's available, you will learn a ton from it. I'll post up as soon as the registration is open for it.
