    You going to have it running by next summer? I can tell you I won't be in the 14's anymore and the white whale will drag that dorito down the track! Like I said, props to mazda for making it work, it's a neat motor in it's own right but it just can't compete with the technology thats behind the piston engines, I.e. make enough power, tq, mpgs, emissions, etc.

    I notice that motor like most doritos is not installed and thus not running!(Sorry, had to take my stab, waiting on litany of 14 sec slow mustang jokes).

    I can assure you those are some of the toughest 4cyl's you'll ever find, but if you mistreat one like any motor it won't last. I've seen people drive them daily making 400+hp all the time. Shit like this can happen.

    Adam is being sarcastic. Props to mazda for trying to make it work for as long as they did, they'll be fine as long as they keep building cars with a soul like the miata and ms3.

    Roush was in mid 11's, Cuda was lifting the front end to high 9's, GN was around 12.0 I believe, didn't catch the other cars. I did around 8 passes and had enough time for probably 30+, I think Jones made over a dozen.

    Don't forget the dickhead working at the tree mouthing off to people like he's some boss. I was livid when he mouthed off to me, I didn't pay money to them to have some employee at like an asshole torwards me.

    I saw a few raised eyebrows when you'd come off the line...lol. Of those 5 passes I made they were so close together in every category it was scary....e.t., mph, 1/8, 60ft, all within a tenth every pass. Now I just need more powa!!!

    You missed out, great turn out today and I was really impressed with the white whale....that thing fucking moves out!! I think of the people he mentioned in the other thread that should beat him only a couple did. Phil even was out to bench race everyone from his parked car!!

    Nope, a few were slower than me but I have few excuses like stock suspension, tires with sidewalls as hard as steel and my chinese intake which probably robbes power.

    True story.....:dumb: I'll just have to wait a little longer to take another stab at the white whale. Also in other news: I am consistent as fuck at drag racing......consistently slow but consistent. 5 passes of 14.4@98mph!!!:fuuuu:

    QFT!! Why doesn't mazda keep the car going with the 2.3t motor from the ms3?? It seems to be a good little engine.

    Yep, I have an uncle with an s10 right now that wants another small pickup but wants better economy, I asked would he go for a diesel and he said hell yes!

    I'm in the market for a daily driver right now, though I can't buy new right now I would be getting a diesel for sure.

    It's time we get some diesel power plants to make these trucks purposeful again. Cummins has been testing out a new small 4cyl diesel which I would believe dodge would get that have been getting over 28mpg in a titan tester and the motor only makes 20/ft lb less than the v8.
