  1. If you are looking for all out speed in a fwd hatch, you bought the wrong car. The gti is always in the fastest half of it class and has always been the best all around hot hatch. Expect this to continue. The new golf will be out the following year and is all new, not just a small refresh like the current car is. It dates back to 2006 in the states. The gti is as fast or faster than the awd wrx even with its 60hp deficit in most all competitions i have read. Straightine is different if you are concers with et times. What does a new wrx trap?
  2. You poor thing...
  3. Its understandable. Besides the fact i dont fit in them, buying a used subaru is not something i would ever do. Their resale is crazy high msking their value ( to me) quite low. It dosnt buy me much. More can be had from other makes. Good luck in your search, as it will be uphill!
  4. That is HOT. A few more... http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/A4SHO/jettacoupe.jpg http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/A4SHO/redcoupe.jpg
  5. Yep, and they would have left your heap in the dust around Hocking today! PS I like my new coilovers better than the Bilsteins!

  7. Quite harsh for someone trying to help... 100% agree
  8. I would have no problem driving my car as long and far as I can, which hopefully will be deep into the 100k range, hoping for 200k. The difference is that I bought it new, and maintain the hell out of it. In todays world of 15k oil changes, there is no way I would buy a car with 100k on it unless you follow El Karacho's point below. I don't think he is saying that at all. See his above point. I agree that finding a well documented car can be done, and I would purchase said car, but its not the norm.
  9. I want a 13 gt500 so bad. Would love to pick one up in about 5 years.
  10. Soft break ins never end well. At least on vag cars.
  11. Sounds good. I think I am going with factory specs besides front camber, which will just be split. Thanks
  12. Yep, you are right. All the info online was so ambiguous. Dumb. Thanks.
  13. People are still able to get over -2deg of camber up front without plates, so I won't be doing that any time soon.
  14. I haven't read anything that said camber wasn't adjustable. It does yield more when lower, but I think its still adjustable.
  15. Caster is not adjustable, and we have a ton of it supposedly. I read that regarding the toe. So I have heard, but just looking to learn.
  16. These are daily/occasional autox/track day settings. Dedicated track day settings are far different. Thanks for the info though.
  17. I have an appointment at NTB downtown at lunch tomorrow. Now, anyone know about corner balancing?
  18. I just did some more reading, and it looks like zeroing out toe is a good place to start, and some like a bit of toe out in either front or rear, depending on the person. Stock Caster As far as camber, it looks like -2.0F and -1.5R.
  19. Right, so is that from the standard oem settings? the guys who race the gti say toe is at 0 in the front and slightly out for rotation on throttle lift off. Still trying to find good camber settings. 2.0F and 1.5R is what I have seen so far.
  20. I just installed my coilovers, and need to get it aligned. I am having a HELL of a time understanding how to read alignment specs. Degrees, inches, minutes, etc... Anyone care to explain? I am getting alignment specs saying 1/16th toe out in the rear, but aren't the specs in degrees? Are they saying 1/16th of a degree from standard oem settings? Thanks.
  21. Stern talked to him today. Never been kissed. 17 years old. Mom hasnt seen it. Getting lots more people adding him to facebook and sending him pictures etc. Seemed like a normal dorky kid.
