  1. Are there any performance differences between the 1990 Eagle Talon cams and the 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse cams? They are both 2.0 Liter DOHC 4g63 engines and are both non turbo.

  3. What kind of a valve spring compressor would you use to take out the valves on a 1990 Eagle Talon with a DOHC 2.0 engine? Thanks!
  4. Im not trying to cause any trouble. Im just someone that likes seeing all the different cars and get new ideas for my car. I am not one of the cars that has an audio system that is turned up way too loud and I dont litter. As far as i can see i wouldnt be doing any of the things that you are posting that you dont like at the meets and I was just being curious as to if i would be allowed to come to the meetings or if you were going to try to throw me out just because I had never gotten to attend any of your previous meetings.

  6. it was a new hydralic tensioner and it was installed properly but the tensioner assembly and the idler pulleys were reused
  7. we had done the timing and everything the engine ran fine but after appx. 80 miles of starting and shutting the car off i shut the car off in london and it wouldnt shat again. when the car was towed back home the timing was found to be off at the belt again. Any ideas why it would have jumped time with a new belt, no balance shafts (the whole engine has been balanced)?

  9. The timing belt is set on my car but the spark is hitting too soon does anyone know the proper way of setting the ignition timing on these cars? My car is a naturally aspirated 2.0 Liter dual over head cam engine from a 1991 mitsubishi galant gsx. I would really apreciate the help. Thanks!!!
  10. I cant remember exactly what the talon will get but i know the ford f-250 got 2-3 miles per gallon if i was lucky.
  11. Im looking at trying to run at least one race this year if I get my car finished and broke in in time. It would be just for fun but id love to see what it is like. Im sure I could never really compete with my current car. lol
  12. I have n/a 4g63 first gen talon and was wondering if anyone knows what the benefits of removing the balance shafts are other than reliability. I am balancing the engine also so that wouldnt be a problem.

  15. If you can't figure it out you can always stop by an advance auto parts and just have them pull up the test chart for that starter it would say.
  16. I just have a quick question on how fast a stock 1998 camaro is. It is the 3.8L V6 and there is no modifacations done to it. This is a friends car and he swears it will beat a 90 eagle talon 2.0L DOHC non turbo. His car is also an autmatic transmission and mine is a 5 speed. What is the verdict? Who would win the talon or the camaro?
  17. I dont think the car is very well put together either and i also think that if the car was pushed hard at all the owner would be out a LOT of time and MONEY.

  19. My Talon has been sitting in the parking lot for about 5 months. I just have to finish the engine rebuild on my days off from work and in between the rain drops. Hopefully will be done soon.
  20. Is there any mods I can do while keeping this engine non turbo to increase performance? I'm looking at getting a turbo engine later but right now i want to keep the naturally asperaterated engine. I already have a high performance exhaust from the front to the back and im looking at a header. I am also tryin my hand at making a custom intake on my trips home but that may take a while (im not doing a half ass one either).
  21. Yes i am one of eddie's friends that works at advance auto parts. I also live in the apartment above him here in columbus. I also hope to have my car running again here in the next two weeks if possible and i dont run into any more trouble.
  22. Just posting to tell who i am. My name is Derek and i have a tan 1990 eagle talon. It is in the process of having the engine rebuilt. It is a 2.0 Liter DOHC that is naturally aspirated. There aren't really many upgrades done to it yet. My last vehicle was a 1978 ford f-250 with a 460 big block. The engine had a set of racing cams, holly carbs, edelbrock intake manifold, four speed manual tranny, the front axles were limited slip, and the rear had a limited slip. It was sitting on 34 inch super swampers, and had three inch straight pipe and headers for the exhaust system. I am now interested in putting a few mods on my talon so if anyone has any suggestions please feel free to tell them to me.
