  1. Working with PI for 15 years I would say more often than not an attorney will do nothing but cost you 33% of your case. There are exceptions to this however. If liability is in question or injuries are extensive, then a good PI attorney is worth his/her weight in gold. They attorney in the end will have a better chance negotiating with doctors and hospitals to lower bills, therefore freeing up more case for the injured party (and themselves).

Just keep in mind, couple of things. PI claims settle low for the most part. Gone are the days that you would see 3x medical bills. Now cases settle in the 1.5x medical bills. Of course nothing is set in stone. Much of the time the doctors notes, accident description and supporting evidence such as x-ray, MRI, CT, computerized ROM testing are critical in demonstrating injury.

Cases with low property damage are also used against the claimant. There is a false perception that property damage equates injury (The insurance companies exploit this misconception to the juries). With the construction of modern vehicles, they are able to absorb a great deal of force without much damage. This is due to the federal bumper impact requirements. This has a negative effect though. The energy that would be absorbed through ride down is transferred to the occupants causing increased injury at lower speeds. The up side is, the vehicles now are constructed to crumple at higher speeds in a controlled predictable manner. This means lives are saved. So in effect it is a trade off between increased lower speed injuries and saving lives at high speeds.

I will add this, if your not really hurt, dont go try to make a case out of nothing. This drives up insurance cost and can lead to fraud allegations. The insurance companies take that serious and may videotape you when you least expect it. If you are hurt, get yourself looked at.

  2. The computer provides a ground to complete the circuit for the injector. In other words the injector driver does not provide 12v pulsed, it provides ground to open and close the injector. I would get a noid light and test to see if you have the ground provided from the PCM.

If you get a scope, you can pin out the injector and check the function of the injector driver.

Also check the continuity from the injector harness to to the PCM.

  3. The oil either will go on the ground, into the coolant or out the tail pipe. The best way to figure it out is a leak down test. You should be able to find someone to do that for less than $100. You could go to harbor freight and get the tester and do it yourself for about $45. The leak down test will also tell you if you have a bad head gasket. If it was the head gasket and your losing that much oil I would think your coolant would look nasty. My money is on rings.
  4. Get a coolant pressure system pressure tester and use that to look for any leakage. If no leakage use a block test to look for hydrocarbons in the cooling system. If the hydrocarbons are present then you have a head gasket that is bad. The coolant is going on the ground or out the tail pipe those are the only two choices..
  5. Good to see any company doing well....period.

However, the article is about OS vs OS not the iPhone hardware. Should Apple have multiple networks and 42+ phones then we might be able to compare them fairly. Otherwise, it's just one phone, one OS and one network vs the world. I'd like to see how one particular model of Android phone is doing against the iPhone as a hardware platform.

When I see people with smart phones and I asked them what made him choose it over an iPhone or another model Smart Phone, they most always say I'm with XXX Carrier and the upgrade path gave them XXX choices. I don't call on too many techno-geeks anymore though, so I'm sure the tides rises over there too.

I agree. If iPhone was on Verizon, you would see sales far Superior to the Android phones. Hands down the iPhone is a nicer platform IMHO.

  6. One thing i dont get, why hawwaii? i mean sure its nice and tropical but im not sure i'd like living there.

I will try to make the long story short. When I graduated from highschool my parents bought me a plane ticket to Honolulu to live with my Uncle. When I frist got off the plane I thought "this place sucks". After a few months things started to grow on me. The people are wonderful, the foods are fresh, the beaches are some of the best in the world. As time went on grew attached to the place.

Due to my mother being in poor health I came back to Ohio. If it was not for her I would have never came back. I would have stayed and hung drywall for the rest of my life.

Over the years I have made many trips back to Hawaii, each time I step off the plane I feel like I am at home. Kind of like how you feel when you go on a long trip and you come back to your own bedroom.

With each trip, iit becomes more evident that is where I need to be.

Plus, while you boys are playing winter CR here, I will be on a nice warm beach!

  7. Funny story about that place. I had one of the dancers come to the office because she hurt herself on the job. After about two weeks in the office she says to me..." You should come out (to the foxhole) this friday, I will introduce you to some of the girls" I said ..."Thanks but I dont think my wife would like that very much." She responds... "Well, you dont have to tell her!"
  8. Good. That church has been "hard-core" protesting the Foxhole for a long time. Whether they like that particular business or not, it is a legal business, bringing in tax money for the locals (see the small irony there with the taxes?).

Why isn't the church protesting every local business that sells beer or cigarettes or porn or rolling papers?

    Meh.

That church up here is led by a whack job of a pastor. I know some a couple people that go there, they tend to be extremist. Although I dont like having the foxhole around, it is a legal business. The Pastor and his crowd have even went so far as to post license plate numbers and name of people that enter the fox hole, online. That is just the wrong way to go about things IMHO.
