My heart goes out to the people that are homeless anywhere. Most have mental problems that force them to live on the fringe of society. Here in Hawaii some of the homeless are mainlanders that came here thinking it would be great to live in paradise and soon found out that it take a lot of $$ to live here. Then they are stuck, no way back to the main land because they have no money. I am looking at rentals here. Since I am a Hoale, I don't really want to live in certain area where I would not be welcomed, like Maka'a or Waiane. the best place for me and the family would be in Kailua/Lanikai area. Rents are expensive, 3br/2ba is about $2700 -$3500 per month. I know it sounds like a lot in comparison to Ohio, but Ohio sucks 6 months out of the year.

I will find out first thing this morning. I am 6 hours behind you guys right now so I have another 4 hours until the jewelers will open up. If this is real, this will be the best trip to Hawaii I have ever made!

Yea, I might as well put an ad on craigslist saying "found large diamond", as someone said before. As soon as the jewelry stores open up her I will take it in and see if it is real.

I woud love to give it back to the poor couple that lost it, but it is not like this has a serial number I can trace back to an owner. I sent my wife the pics and she was all excited about it! I was going to sell it before I leave and she was like..... "Oh no you not!"

So I am in Hawaii for about an hour and find this on the side walk. I would say 3-4 carats in size if it is real.
