  1. So tell us.. how much was the bar fine? Did you opt for long time or short time.
  2. Sorry, I don't have an adjustment that will fix it. But I do hear you guys are working on a drug to patch the cracks, but side effects are worse than the cracks. A surgery will come later to remove the broken pieces, but it wont fix the underlying problem. Oh well, I guess I will have to fix it right, kind of like going to a chiropractor.:grin2:
  3. That's a hair on the large side. lol
  4. There was no signed waiver.I never would have guessed that the guy would be dumb enough to drive that truck on my drive.Thatis what I get doing business with contractors in knox county. I hope we can work this out with out going to court. I don't want to hurt the guys business at all. I would like to just my drive fixed.
  5. So here is the deal. The kids are getting antsy with not much to do out here in the sticks. So I decide we are going to put a play set in for them. The problem is we live on a hill, so we hire an excavator to level out yard. During the excavation we had many tons of clay removed from the yard. The contractor could have taken the dirt out through an empty lot next door, but he decides to back a 26,000 pound dump truck onto my concrete drive. According to the excavator the truck weighed 26,000 empty. It holds about 5 yards I think. Top soil weighs about 2400# per yard. That is 12,000# load plus the truck, that is 38,000#. So I get home and notice the driveway has 3 cracks. These two are the big ones. They are about 1/4" wide and 3 feet long. The other crack is very fine and barely noticeable. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k25/straightchiro/Picture.jpg So I call the guy and tell him he broke the driveway. He proceedes to say to me "I am not sure what you expect, we had to had a dump truck up there". The contractor goes on to say the he "is not responsible for the damage , you must have had a bad driveway". I called a concrete contractor out and he said it is about $1500 to $2000 in damage. So is the contractor responsible for the damage or not? He had other avenues to remove the dirt beside my driveway. We also were not informed he was going to put the truck on the driveway, and no damage waiver was signed. I have not paid them the balance of the job yet and will not until all issues are resolved. On top of the now I have a lake in my back yard because they did not do the grade right.

No way... get it while you still can!!
  7. I love being self employed, I can control my tax expenditures.
  8. What is this place coming to when we have a Jon & Kate thread?
  9. http://www.10tv.com/live/content/local/stories/2009/03/20/story_tickets.html?sid=102 Between shooting people who don't deserve to be shot, the beatings, the tazers, and quotas, I wonder why police in general have PR problems. We have become a police state little by little in the past 40 years. This problem will not be getting better until the public opens its eyes and does not allow the government to hold us hostage any longer.
  10. Wow, sorry to hear this sad news. I never really cared much for Kennys personality but I am sad to hear at the loss. My prayers go out to his family to ease the pain in their time of sorrow. This goes to show all of us that we know our birth date but not our death date. We must be prepared for the date we leave this earth. My prayers will go out to the family and friends that are suffering the loss and pain that comes with it.
  11. We live in the East Knox School district, it is not the greatest for educational standards. I am not a fan of public schools because of a few reasons. Mostly the lowering of the educational standards over the past 50 years. The school I send my boy to has a tough curriculum compared to the public schools. We have had kids transfer in to his school from Mt. Vernon city schools, East Knox , and Danville, They generally have a hard time adapting to the more aggressive curriculum and grading scales. I feel bad for those kids, it is stressful on them.

    Your 1911 of Choice

I like the kimber 1911, it was very smooth compared to other 1911's I have shot.
  13. I know 3 people that have them, they love it. They've had zero problems with the storm, other than the texting was a little hard to get used to. I am not a big fan of touch screen phones, so I got an 8330 curve.
  14. I am sitting here at 5:34 in the morning laughing out loud at the shear amount of time that all of you wasted bashing me. The funniest poster was Mrs. angry cunt. I don't use that type of language generally, but in this case I will make a well deserved exception. She sounds like a woman that really does not like her job and is a tad on the defensive side. I was actually giving credit that elementary education has to have certification, and licensing by the state. Therefore teaching in primary education is regulated. No governmental regulation occurs at the university level. I guess if she was not so uptight about what she does she would have understood that. BTW.... I make sure my kids get a good education, that is why I don't send them to public schools.
  15. Man, we can tell that tilley has some hardcore nutswingers here. I bet half of you would let him slip you one in the brown eye just to have the pleasure of saying you met the legend. What of bunch of followers around here.
  16. still up the food chain from you
  17. Says the guy who plows snow and works landscaping like an illegal immigrant.
  18. translation: you could not cut it!
  19. Seems like you must not have been in college long, just about anyone can get a job as an adjunct. Teaching kindergarten requires more certification.
