  1. Man those welds Ray posted make my head hurt. JEEZ.
  2. Erica is having the same issues with her's. She is on her original one still. We are going back this week after they attempted to "update" it with no change in performance.
  3. Interesting, I have a feeling this will last like 10 seconds. If the police HAVE to show up to EVERY meet, it's kinda lame. Especially for people who need to keep their driving records clean for their automotive job. Something a lot of people don't think about when being stupid. #1 complaint at the CSCC Automotive Dept. "Man I wish I could land a job in my field, but I can't becuz I acted a fool in a parking lot"
  4. They aren't going to let that go for less than like say 5-8K. Not really a poor mans car....
  5. I caught this on Speed channel the other week, I think you can watch a huge chunk of it on streetfire. It's most excellent. Great documentation of a form of racing not many people get to see.
  6. 12 qts of Synthetic, plus filter, plus labor. $209 seems a LITTLE high, but not crazy.
  7. Common stuff we have seen are rear wheel bearings, rear axle boots, front suspension issues, valve covers leak, rear main seals leak. We work on quite a handful of these things, also the suspension issues come if they have hooptie wheels on them, which the S models do. I believe they have the 18" Turbo Twist wheels? Otherwise they are strange to work on with how you access various parts of the motor. For Example having the top half way down to take the panels off to get to the top of the motor etc.. They are quite fun cars, I know a guy with an automatic one that gives the 911 guys a run for their money at the autocrosses.
  8. 12K for a car that has trans issues? Little high me thinks..... Car isn't even close to being worth 20K anyways, tough to sell cars that are modified like that without a full build.
  9. I saw this car near University City a couple weeks ago chillin' in the parking lot with someone in it. I had the MR2 pulling into Subway, car looks neat. Typical drift scene look, not really for me but I'm sure it's fun to drive. Welcome!
  10. By definition of Grand Touring I would rather have the Maserati over the Jaguar. For a fun factor I would rather have the 911 hands down, but it has no trunk space as mentioned before. But for money and reliability I think the M3 would be hard to beat, plus they are the easiest to work on of that lot.

THAT is not a fun job..... Tornado!!!!! Pep and I may be out in tha 2
  12. What is so wrong about the SVT Focus? It's sort of neat for what it is, I mean the man is asking for experience, not to be talked out of buying one... They are pretty solid car and have a really loyal following, so with that being siad they are generally well kept. The shop services one very regularly and the only "big" issues we have had is that when the valve cover decides to leak and you don't catch it it destroys the seal for the t-stat housing on the driver's side of the head causing a coolant leak. This problem is common for a lot of Focus's. It has also had 02 sensors and the car is very sensitive to bad PCV valves since they are down underneath the exhaust manifold where there is a lot of heat, also the rubber hose off the PCV. Other than that is has been perfect, the owner daily drives the car even through the winter with a set of winter tires and autocrosses it now. They are pretty nice cars for a Focus, Ford definitely spent most of their time with these, because these are one of the few Ford's I sort of like working on.
  13. I'd be curious to see a number as well.
  14. I woke up, looked out the window and the head hit the pillow again.
  15. Dunno, Josh is in town BTW Eman....
  16. Crossle is the manufacturer of the Formula Ford my Dad and I autocrossed when I turned 16 for 2 years. Everyone pronounces it wrong though haha. It was a 1982 50F chassis.
  17. Should be there in something....
  18. 944's are OK, but make sure the timing belt has been done recently, holy shit are they expensive. The water pump alone was like $400 plus for the part. The cost is way higher, although they handle like a mid engine car. Mazda Miata Non-Turbo Z32 300zx C4 Corvette FC RX7 in nice shape FB RX7 Datsun 240Z 3rd Gen F-body BMW Z3
  19. Oh that's right Joe was selling that car for a bike or something. Maybe I met you at the Porsche Club autocross? I can't remember... Nope the facebook person is Robert Canter with a red MKII and bronze wheels just like yours haha.
  20. MKII MR2, may be able to find a turbo in that range...
  21. Welcome fellow MR2 owner! I think you just sent me a thing on facebook lol.
