    VW TDIs

TDI's are cool. I remember when they first came out and the timing belt had to be done at 30K miles, until enough people bitched up a storm and they came out with a 60K belt. Front strut bearing plates will be shot, they are never solid on these things. If you can move the suspension up and down more than an inch I recommend replacing them. Any other car it would seem horrible. A little less than an inch is normal. Since nobody actually drives these things the aluminum intakes get INCREDIBLY clogged up with carbon buildups, like when you pull the intake tube off the intake manifold, you may be able to just stick a pencil through the hole through the middle of the buildup. It's crazy. Otherwise, they aren't that bad. People like to hold onto them until their repair bills surpass the value of the car, then they dump them. That's the unfortunate thing about them. Most of them you will find are 1 owner cars usually, but they have more than 150K miles and need service.
  5. That thing has been beat on...jeez.
  6. Eman is almost that low with the Miata. Looks good IMO, not my favorite body for the Golf, nor do I really care for Alloy wheels on a white car, but hey.
  7. You could man....what will it take to put you in that car? LOL
  8. Yeah, Ford does not use those from the factory just fyi, makes you wonder why they were changed before 64K miles if that is how many miles this truck has....
  9. Welcome fellow MR2 owner! Annnnd that Probe is pretty neat to say the least.
  10. That scion is pretty neat, welcome. Plus anyone crazy enough to have a G60 Corrado has got to be a car nut.
  11. Have the seller write a bill of sale, you will be fine. There is writing in fine print that if you just bought a car from private party you are ok to get it home. They should have the title notarized with their part filled out before you get there. Then upon inspection that there is indeed a notarized stamp on the back where they fill out the seller info. You hand them cash.
  12. Saw this car over at qsl friday night
  13. TSB or Recall on front ball joints, guy here at the shop had them done around 10K miles. Moisture issues....
  14. Might drag the Porsche 951 we have for sale over, just for shits.
  15. After a MR2 Turbo and a WRX? An SRT is going to feel like a turd lol. They are fun for about 2 seconds IMO. I drove one on a fairly often basis and it was entertaining, but I would not own one. 95% of them are beat to hell (sorry Paul).
  16. No it's not good at all, hence the massive recall that was the largest in history since Toyota has so damn many cars on the road. Also, to save money they use a lot of the same parts across their entire line of vehicles which is why Toyota is still doing pretty good for itself. Ford should also be noted for using parts across their models including Mazda, BUT they feel the need to change everything every 2 years. I agree there is a "major" problem in the sense of being a life threatening problem, yes.
  17. Hard to duplicate problems that aren't there sometimes, not Toyota's fault that American's are so damn greedy for money. No, I'm not saying there isn't a problem, but I'm skeptical of how HUGE the problem is.
  18. There has been a black Hayabusa sitting at Kenny and Henderson the last couple days in front of the dent doctor building (I think that's what it is) at the Southeast corner....looks somewhat stock.
  19. House down payment, no debt here...
  20. It's the classic "when was the last time you saw one of these?" Better off selling at a collector auction IMO, better opportunity to have a couple people fight over it and maybe get the price up there.
  21. I'm pretty excited, I'll be over there b/w 12 and 1. Probably with the Pat's and Erica.
