So, I decided to repaint the drywall part of my garage, it was originally a flat bright white. I bought semi-gloss off-white for the top, semi-gloss silver for the bottom, and semi-gloss orange for a stripe. I got the fancy paint+primer stuff and went to town.....
I painted the top first, the bottom second, then masked off where I wanted the stripe and painted the stripe last.
Well, yesterday I just happened to rub my knuckle down the wall, and it "caught" the top edge of the stripe and pulled the paint back. I grabbed it and literally pulled the entire stripe off the wall in one long chunk.....
What the hell did I do wrong? Too may coats of orange? Should I have used a primer?
I'm assuming this time I need to paint the orange stripe, THEN mask off the stripe and paint the top/bottom edges (white/silver) after the stripe?
