Congrats again Brian and great job on that intro story. Well done!

Life isn't equal and fair and that's okay. I'm not in favor of it being so either as that means there are people working hard or leveraging what Thier family and past have brought to them and others who feel they are somehow magically entitled to the same for no reason. This isn't a socialist country and life isn't fair. Again that's okay. Go make of life what YOU can with what opportunities YOU have. Don't tread on what others have because you think everyone is somehow deserving of things that aren't theirs. Not every kid shoukd get a trophy or be made to feel it's equal to come in last as it is first. That's part of the pussification of America. Yes, I sleep well at night and don't go around playing a victim all butt-hurt about what my nieghbor has and I don't. San Francisco values can suck a dick like many of them enjoy doing. well little by little they are. just look at the restrictions NY and CA have going for them. Obama's an idiot when it comes to understanding the crime / gun / shooting issues. he's a legend in his own mind who can't lead half of the people in Washington. he'd have been fired from any other company for such inabilities. it's already happening. America is filled with pussification and leftists that are promoting the gov't will save everyone. add in a large group already living off gov't programs as their main-stay of life and another large group who think they are entitled to everything on the backs of others. I'm no longer surprised when I see people struggling and others completely lost with no clue how to help themselves. Let's see if Obama and his buddy in Chicago will actually go help his home town inner city people.

Sounds pretty cool...pun intended. Am considering the install of an x-pipe or something to offer a nice lower tone but don't want any drone in the cabin. Local friend that was at the track day is getting something done in a week or so and will listen to his. Anything aftermarket for this platform is over the top crazy expensive.

Just pointing out the facts. Although blame is fairly applicable considering in society parents are the first line of responsibility for their own kids. Maybe not the case your world though. Fact remains we have a couple adults go to the zoo with a handful of kids including a 3yr old and no one watches what he's doing even after he pitched-a-fit about wanting to actually go in with the gorillas. Now I know who does that. Thankfully "God" was there to watch over the kid. But hey, let's blame the zoo not the parents. Welcome to 2016 in the US of A. Guess I'm not surprised given the father has a history of bad decisions as it relates to LEO's and the mother who had four kids with such a role model. Bad decisions seem to surround that household. Too Soon? http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_EoGBQPLscoU/TVDHqg1w_jI/AAAAAAAABKo/3nAr0m-lanE/s1600/KeQxO.jpg Save

No, we're here because two parents, three if you count the other mom that was witnessed with the mom in question, weren't paying attention to their 3yr old at the zoo. You're correct, a toddler of that age lacks the capacity to realize the obvious thus why it's the role of the parent to actually parent. They failed to do so and I hope their kid realizes that when he gets older. I hope it sinks in that a beautiful animal was killed as a result of their irresponsibility yet mom went back on social media to say "accidents happen.' One would think a little empathy for the Gorilla would have been noted and perhaps some more heartfelt gratitude to the zoo employees who saved their son. Parents fucked up and zoo will flip them some dollars to go away and give Darwin another shot at them and their kid. The exhibit is already under renovation and has been. Hard to bet on a game played last season.

To the dumb ass mother and father. You're correct, won't likely change their method of parenting. Darwin is pretty much given another shot. We already invest in education and libraries. We lead horses to water but we can't force them to drink. These parents aren't in a bubble and life isn't keeping them from picking up a book on how to parent. There are countless tools already at the fingertips of those you think are victims of life. They aren't using the tools they already have. That has to come from within. Agree, it does work. Nothing in that recipe of success has changed. Something along the way did change though and now the people who once aspired to be those engineers would rather sit on the porch and collect a check. Social programs that don't have the recipient put skin-in-the-game do nothing to help. They only foster lazy people. Don't think so. The accounts of those around her pretty much told the story that she wasn't watching her kid. The fact that he ended up in the mote is proof enough too. If you don't think it's about the money then lets see if they simply settle for the cost of said out of pocket for his medical plus a little something extra for their time off work. Yeah...... Lawyer likely took 33% or so. At the end it and in reality she was 100% fine. Drama from a drama lama bitch who gamed the system. You'd have to know her. She's a turd. I could only hope she has a seizure. That's another story man. In the end she's a classic example of a scammer. I don't need anyone to tell me to let my food cool before popping it in my mouth. If I do so it's my fault and I'm not suing anyone. So to answer your question....NO. Common sense not a legal disclaimer is all that's needed. I don't know any restuarants that tell their runners to let the food sit and cool outside a nice steakhouse that does so because steaks are best served that way. The Careful it's hot is again, common sense at play not instruction. I'm 110% on these statements too as I used to work in that industry doing Labor Analysis working along side Dennis Lombardi during my days in Architecture. Ops managers and trainers at Applebee's or Pizza Hut are not letting food sit purposely. Yes and it's not bigger it's Bugger Covered glass that is typically dirty on both sides. It's no where near as nice as looking right at the animals. already addressed. the tools are already present but not being used like they need to be. Chicago murders aren't a result of poor schools, those rats killing other rats are just thinning their own herd of people who have zero interest in bettering themselves. Some do but the gang bangers and hood rats don't care. Their mama's are just waiting for one of them to get popped and then they will sue the cops. IMO the National Guard needs called in and the streets cleared of the trash dealing drugs.

says a lot that so many came forth so quickly to have the parents held accountable. that front end pro-active education is called parenting. the mom and dad in question are not filing suite for anything but money. Just watch. This story has been played out over and over again. glad you see my point. Thus why the parents filed and so many others do just the same. They are playing the odds and the lottery is stacked in the favor of rewarding their stupidity. I'd call $150k big and that's chump change in a case like this. That's the figure my sister got for a whack on her head. Don’t need to. Considering filing a case against the next restaurant I eat pizza at and burn the top of my mouth on or the next place I take a spoonful of too hot of soup and burn my tongue. People need to use some common sense when handling hot beverages. Blow on it and test it out before you take a sip. Don’t multitask with hot liquid in your car when you should in fact be driving. Glad the case gave you employment. It’s the American Way anymore. Exactly. IMO if a dumb-ass sticks there hand under a mower and tried to file a lawsuit I’d ask the judge to make the plaintiff stick their hand under there again so the won’t ever forget how STUPID they were. So now the Cinci Zoo will likely have a bugger ridden plate of glass in front of the gorillas because baby mama and daddy were stupid.

Welcome to CR where discussions happen.....and anything is possible. In this case when 100-200k people sign a petition within days, I'd say it's pretty clear I'm not alone in my stance. Dude the system is ringing the dinner bell and has for years. That's the reason why this country is filled with people quick to lawyer up and sue. It's out of control and we don't need a CR discussion or a University Study to see that. The Gorilla enclosure there has been under renovations for over a year. The way the fucked up system works though is they will likely toss money at the parents to make the matter go away and both the parents and the lawyers know that and want that. No one here wants to go to court, they want the money. Again, no University Study needed. I know how it works Kerry. I've been around it on both sides with a number of our friends and my wife who worked in it for many years. The bullshit you're eluding to does exists but the reality is the vast majority of legal matters are about money and settled with dollar signs. The real issues such as Kate's Law and others that actually do mean something get dicked around with so much that they never happen or if they do they get jammed in with other BS Stuff. It is for many. It's actually the lotto system. Believe me, I absolutely plan to sue if given the chance. My own fucked up sister that I hate with a death wish sued Service Merchandise, a retailer here that has since gone under and was awarded $$$$ for a shelving system that fell on her as she reached for some goods. You can likely even look it up. she was a dumb ass and did it knowing if it fell she'd sue. We even talked about it. I also remember when people burned themselves on coffee and just cussed at themselves and when parents actually parented. I remember when doctors didn't get sued over everything either... No, it's not just emotion, it's all the BS You see out there like this. There's so much regulation and requirements to protect the "Masses" because of a few idiots. We'll discuss more on that in another thread I'm sure. Lawsuit abuse is crazy today. There are all kinds of dumb-ass cases being filed and class action BS is out of control too. Follow the money, it's not a difficult concept.

The law supports both positions as visitors to a public venue have a duty to exercise reasonable care for their own safety and those they are responsible for as well. In this case parents can't just show up and neglect to parent their kids within what a reasonable person would do in such a situation. It is time society start putting a bit more pressure on parents these days. Just look a the shit happening in Chicago. Poor parenting is a HUGE part of that chaos. We were just on Vacation and if you look up at the pool or beaches there are signs everywhere placing a degree of responsibility on the swimmer to look after his or her own safety. If the patron ignores those warnings to me that's on them and a solid defense should they try and sue. Pretty simple; if you don't want to have your kid get killed by a Gorilla, Pay fucking attention to what they are doing at all times and don't let them break the posted rules about climbing fences or going into said enclosure. Next up.....kid nearly dies after falling from counter top in public restroom.....parent sue zoo. Solution put glass enclosure up so you can only stick your hands through two holes to get them into the sink. We need to stop pandering to the dumb-asses of the world and allowing them to prosper from their actions. In this case fuck that noise of the parents suing the zoo. Hell, I hope the zoo counter-sues them for the death of the Gorilla and endangering the lives of the other patrons and employees as they helped save the kid who the parents of didn't even know was crawling into the exhibit! Again, fuck that noise of allowing the whiners in life who claim everything happens to them get to prosper of the backs of others. Up next, little Jimmy get's a splinter at the zoo, contracts flesh eating virus and the parents sue the zoo for being unclean. Personal responsibility has gone out the window and it's to the point where people actually believe they can do no wrong and now we're paying people to be bad parents. Maybe the parents of a toddler should turn their backs and let their kids stick a pen into the outlet at the airport where his brother is charging an iPhone so they can sue the airport. Brilliant way to hit the lotto! Here's one of my own pics: http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/The%20wilds_zpsxy7i52da.jpg Save

I don't recall seeing anyone here saying they are happy the kid was injured. Really.... I'm moving on the from the empathy part as to me it's a given that no one wants to see the kid hurt. you're a lawyer so it's more fitting for you to feel that way. I don't because I think there's already too much litigation in the world. Not your or even my wife, but plenty of lawyers are up for any type of litigation as that's how they make a living. I never said I wasn't open to hearing experts on enclosures discuss this one but I"m more open to hearing experts talk about the parents and how they could be better parents. Just pisses me off that the world seems to always point fingers and look at others vs looking in the mirror where the real problem often is located. Yes, some kids are more active and curious, but then their parents need to perhaps be even more attentive. This mother obviously has some work to do on her parenting skills and perhaps needs to actually interact with her kid a bit more so he's not off on his own to slide his way into an enclosure. According to what I heard/read the father was there, so where was he when all this happened? I clearly remember both my kids at age 4. BS that they don't understand the importance of anything at that age. They ABSOLUTELY do if the parents actually teach them. Here's a series of each of my kids at age 4: Notice the "interaction" of mom and dad with them. Daughter not crushing a crab or climbing in water Daughter NOT riding her bike in street Daughter taking pics like dad and not chasing the ducks/birds Son respecting a fence and not climbing through it - Moms still attentive Son Petting a Shark Son Petting a Snake In the yards of just about every responsible parent as the last time I checked, it's NORMAL and CUSTOMARY for GOOD Parents to keep and eye on their kids, insure they are taught not to cause disturbances, not to run through zoo displays and generally interact with their kids and raise mindful and respectful children. No all along the bike trail on 315 you have dangerous currents and dams that have taken many lives. You have lots of cars to get hit by and rocks to fall on and from too. Not to mention Antrum is an old quarry and has some pretty deep areas. and likewise the zoo and other patrons have an expectation that parents bring approapriate levels of responsibility when their kids are there. If you haven't raised respectful or attentive kids then you best be sure to hang onto them and actually PARENT vs no even noticing what they are doing. The Key word highlighted for you. Parents need to prepare for their trip to the zoo, make their expectations with said kids clear, be responsible for their kids and maintain their good behavior. If they aren't able to do that then they should perhaps let little Joey watch animal planet at home. Even at ages 10 and 13 my kids are well aware of expectation when we go out whether it's to the zoo or simply dinner. and there are clear signs at the zoo in Cinci that warn people to stay out of the exhibits, not to climb or sit on fences and that these are wild animals not to be fed. I have pics of them as the signage is often funny. Perhaps I'll dig up some pics for you. Overall though to your point, most all zoos including Columbus have rules that state: For your safety: No visitor shall go over, under, between or otherwise cross any guardrail, fence, moat, wall or other safety barrier, or seat, stand or hold children over such barriers. Again, it is all about expectations and responsibility. Mom chose to participate in going on a zoo excursion and she is expected to be accountable for her kids actions and responsible for when they act up. Nice try back at you.

I think the empathy part for the kid is a given. Really, it's a waste of time to go into all that. Seems we're both enclosure experts. Reality is though that the enclosure isn't something my kids "interact" with. They know and were taught not to run into the flowers, shrubs, etc. at the zoo. Their mom and dad also did a great job keeping an eye on them and insuring they didn't cause a disturbance or run where they weren't supposed to. We actualy kept an eye on them and "interacted" with them. I don't have protective railings and glass walls keeping my kid from darting into the street or keeping them from jumping in the river when we're at the park or falling into the lake as we jog / walk around Antrum Lake. In the end we don't live life inside protective suites. Dangers exist and present themselves daily. Parents need to parent more. People need to stop playing victims and the system needs to quit pandering to those that clearly do. Now excuse me while I let my kids get bit by a giraffe as they feed them lettuce at the zoo so I then file suite against them to pay for their college.

Somewhat. I sprayed our candidate signs placed in our yard last election season when someone was running around stealing them. Mine only got taken once but I was so hoping they would come back for the second one. Maybe this year.... :bangbang:

Meh....I've been there, in fact was just there this spring. Don't have any photos or videos as the exhibit wasn't active when we were there but here's a video showing it. It's a great and much more user-friendly exhibit than ours. Columbus is nice but there are many others around the country that have way better viewing than Cbus Zoo. https://youtu.be/meh6W-JaEqU In the end, it's sad that this mother didn't keep an eye on her own toddler. Someone could have easily snatched and taken him out of sight. Instead baby mama is likely going to get a settlement for being stupid. Such a great system we have. It encourages stupidity and leads to ruining nice things for the rest of us.

Nice! Great car to do it on too as it's already sweet!

Get even with them vs catching them. You might just end up doing both. I think it's safe to assume that if they come ring the bell they would likely take a small box that was labeled as if it was shipped to you by Cincinnati Microwave/Valentine One, someplace like that right? :ninja: What you'll need: Small Box Small piece of wood or something to mimic weight of a detector or valuable Newspaper & foam packing peanuts Packing Tape Make up both shipping and receiving labels on your PC Urushiol Oil Extract (Blended up Poison Ivy Plant); see below That last ingredient is easy to find and easy to make. Gloves - wear both long/wrist length latex gloves then garden gloves over them. Any type of eye protection just in case it splashes Old Blender from New Uses/garage sale Cheap kitchen strainer from store Paper Funnel from Nappa/Paint supply Store - toss away Old Milk Jug or iced tea gallon size - latter is nice and heavy and the lid secure - product keeps upwards of 5yrs. Cheap plastic spray bottle - be sure to label it! Poisen Ivy plant - doesn't take much but get young thin stems and leaves as they blend easier. Get about 12-18" of it. Bucket to put the plant in when cut Alcohol - large size (used in clean up of items if you decide to keep them) - I tossed everything Go find some Ivy. Chop it and place it in a container or bucket for transport. Simply blend it up with about 16-20oz of water for several minutes in the blender insuring that it's as chopped and fine as possible. Strain it and pour through funnel into the gal size jug. Add more water as the concentrate will go far. Now you have your Urushiol Oil Extract. Fill spray bottle with blend of this evil concoction. You can clean up things with Alcohol then with soap and water or IMO just toss it all in the trash. The idea is to wrap that block of wood or rock or whatever that is your fake radar detector loosly with newspaper but do use clear tape as you want them to unwrap it. Crumble more newspaper up as it will be used to stuff or cushion things inside the box. You can use packing peanuts too or in place of the paper but paper works really well. Carefully and Lightly spray everything "inside" the box. The paper, peanuts, the item, everything. Let it dry. You can spray it again and again to insure the oils and evil spray is all over the inside good and strong. Seal up the box, affix your labels and leave it on your porch. Give it a couple days and look around to see if any of the neighborhood kids or neighbors have Poison Ivy rash on their hands, face, etc. http://www.audizine.com/forum/images/smilies/evilhappy.gif Save

x3. I'd LOL if someone tried to sue me for that shit

Sorry but I don't call giving someone a hall-pass on parenting of a child being open minded. Again, I've cited the law and the basis for my opinion. I can't speak for others but just looking at the response to the matter I'm not alone. TONS of what's wrong in the world today is due to lack of parenting and responsibly by people who call themselves parents yet they hardly fit the description of one. Time for them to wake up and realize these things don't "just happen" to them they happen "because of them." ^^ this.
