You'll love the 3401 or the newer version due out this summer. The megs unit gets good reviews, for like you said, what it is. I do like their glazes white/black light. I used to use the Megs version of White Wax on my MS3. Never used Chem Guys version. I'm really digging the HD Product line. HDAdapt did an amazing job and finished out like glass. No additional polish was needed. Polish and Sealant All in One I like and use is HDSpeed. Finishes as good if not better than the Menzerna SF4000 which is a benchmark, especially for German finishes which use a different clear make up. You'll like them and they are very cost effective too.

You'll be fine with a Flex 3401 as it's a DA unit and won't hologram. Has the power of a rotary with nice size orbit both add up to upwards of 50% faster correction.

which one are you looking to get Joe? Sounds fun.

WOW DUDE!! That's one of my favorites to date. This one could make you some money and get you some serious recognition IMO. They are all very good/excellent.

^^ Center channel volume would be a control available on your surround sound settings in the receiver. Check to see if your system supports individual channel volume controls. Glad you enjoy it too! I remember when I came across them and visited their location while traveling and I was like WTF how could that be so awesome for such a great price
-
Could be more receiver related. I forget the name of the setting on my unit but it is sort of a "night-time" mode which emphasizes center channel voices but doesn't then blast the sub or surround sounds as much. We use it all the time as our great room is big and open and voice can get lost and like you said, the other sounds then blast. Doesn't help much I know but it's an option worth looking into.

His life must have really sucked if that's how he wanted to commit suicide.

If you work for the dealer, get with the service manager and get them all fixed up. They may as well do a few things to it for you as an employee vs having a customer unhappy in the short term when they buy it and need them done.

Rupes do a really good job. The long throw helps correct fast and very nicely. Their 15 is a popular one. Keep in mind the 21 is a decent size throw/orbit so if you have tight spots, lots of emblems/letters you'll need a smaller back up too as you tear up pads hitting them. Nice units. I added Flex 3401 as I wanted a forced rotation unit to avoid stalling on curves, etc. Wife picked one up for me as a B-day gift. She's awesome!

Griot's Garage has more power and isn't much more than the PC7424. Autozone on Sawmill has them now. Pick up HDSpeed and some Orange Lake Country Pads. You'll need 5 for your car. Thin pads will work much better on the 7424 or Griot's units. Especially if you go 5 or 6" in size. Will finish like a mirror. Top that will some Collinite 845 and you'll be set through fall. If you want, I have plenty of HDSpeed that you can use. The Anderson's carries Collinite too. Add to the list, some CarPro Iron-X and Clay bar of your choice.

Makes cool V8 sounds and is quick but overall looks dated. Depends on what you're looking to have.

than a standard manual but then it has two of them inside. same engine power but less drive train loss thus power to the wheels or to the ground they do offer an advantage. check the weight stats I am not sure a DSG unit is a pig. you might enjoy free wheeling to save a few bucks but I enjoy 100% power delivery via full time engagement through every shift. the civil tone is a given man. kerry is cool and he buys me coffee too.

I've voided every warranty on my cars since the early 90's. Never a worry in my world from doing so. I drank your AWD German Beer and then you go all Redneck Budweiser on me. Thanks Pal! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

No, Iknow others existed but in 2016, and for what most everyone knows and calls and automatic in modern day, a TC is typically involved. I think in terms of efficiency overall it's great for a DD over a traditional system. More power, better mpg's and better performance. It's also more fun than a traditional manu-matic. Shifts done manually are light years above the average DD'er tap-shift aka tap-delay-slowshift. meh, for me it's not about a stigma around skills. for me it's about the sheer PIA a stick can be in rush hour. I drive all over the 5 states around us and then some and with roads becoming more crowded every day, I welcome the break. No defensiveness, just a chime-in on correcting the technicals of things. I see your point about removing human interaction automating things but I don't call a DSG an automatic in a traditional sense, because in fuction the thing it shares in common with a traditional TC Auto is it's ability to have a computer take over if/when needed. Otherwise, it's more a traditional manual transmission than TC Auto in the way it's designed and functions. The lazy mode or the more improved mode really. Why operate a clutch when a computer can do that and rev match for you. One still gets to choose exactly when to up or down shift if they wish which you can't do in the same way with a traditional auto. it is subjective but for me anything that is more efficient, delivers more power, better economy, can outshift most on a completely consistant bases thus allowing better overall performance, allows me freedom to control or be controlled makes what I want my car, even a DD'er turd more fun. I would agree, manual control is more fun at times. Having teh ability to have it both ways is rewarding too. There's definitely a place for the purism of it all. that day I saw you in the Jeep on 270.....I guarantee I was having more fun than you in a stick shift or the guy next to me in the Automatic Accord. An auto SHO? Please tell me your parents didn't make you drive a non-SHO. I'd have walked. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

Happy to help Shane. Yes, that's the one. Call or text me when you get it and are ready to roll. Be sure to triple check and make certain you're ordering the correct color code for the make and model of your car.

It's a solid tune for our platform so I'm sure your is too. I'm seeing a little drop in RPM/slip but nothing I'd scream over if it wasn't fixed. Some guys in the S4 world bitch about everything to the Nth degree. APR haters for not having flash-at-home. Call Jeff at Toy Barn. I'm not sure if he'd charge for a flash or even if he'll charge me to update mine. It only takes 20 minutes so bill me for 30 as we know nothing is ever as simple as we think and call it a day is how I see it.
-
Are they in beta on the update for you guys? The S4's is due out by end of month but we know what APR's "in two weeks" is like. Could be 6 months or never.

Depends on how well it drives. I've been in the Chevy's new C7's and their autos are night and day compared to what you are LOL'ing at and we have known from days past. My guess is Audi went to the 8spd for cost / efficiency reasons though. However I'm sure it holds its own. Not sure if Trey has done a ride and drive with the new S4. 6spd difficult launches are LOL

The above is a repair done by a fellow board member at Autogeek and again, such rapairs are pretty common over there. Gotta use the right product and take your time is all. Howevert if you care to see my black metallic van which has a good, better and then an above level best ranking of correction done to it you're welcome to stop by as Shane did tonight. God knows I've fixed a number of them for my wife. In Shane's case there are several challenges. Scrape was a decent gouge that has been filled with paint and probably should have been filled only in the channel it was gouged vs so far out from the scratch. leveling where the tape line is vs just the scratch is challenging. Bumper was from a bone yard and has been resprayed. Decent spray job but not great. Paint layer sprayed showed/measured thin. Color was a good match but the thickness and color will pose challenges. Touch up Paint is the $5 kind from the auto store vs Dr. Color chip and tended to glob and drag vs self level We hit it for a while with 1500 grit and nearly leveled it but the end game is going to involve ordering better touch up paint so the paint blends. Then we'll, level it and polish to match. Should be a decent repair once done. Here's an shot of a corner that was repaired by me. Wife has "rounded" every corner on the damn van. I don't know if I have a before of this one. I don't tend to document steps like some of the geeks over at AG. http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/mhv35539_zpsg3quwknp.jpg

outcome from the above posted image. It can be done. Dr. Color Chip is excellent at matching even with Metallic paint. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t12/rhowitt/Detailing%20shots/DSC_0021.jpg

Yes. In beta on a newer version too. They are actually firming up the clutch engagements as some are seeing a wee-bit of slippage due to the power many are now putting down as E85 tunes increase. Also looking at E85.

I wouldn't say it's smoother in stock form. Actually the way Audi programs it stock it's not. It's jerky when downshifting at a stoplight. The TCU Tune eliminates that. It's normal though and when creeping the average Joe doesn't like the feeling of the computer 'clutching the car' when they are expecting it to behave like a typical slushbox. I think they forget it's actually a manual transmission being shifted by a computer and what they are feeling is the computer engaging a clutch to mimic a ‘creep’ function. Most noticeable going up a driveway that's sloped or crawling up over the curb/gutter. Overall though, it's seamless in "auto mode" So what kind of transmission is it? I call a DSG an automated manual transmission as a DSG is actually a pair of multiple-shaft manual gearboxes, with a transaxle design less a conventional clutch pedal. aka a manual transmission but with full automatic, OR semi-manual control. Thus a DSG is actually the best of BOTH, a manual transmission that allows for fully automatic or a manual control of it's manual transmission hardware. Automatics using a Torque Converter use a process to change gears that's only loosely similar to a manual transmission but in the end it's NOT a manual in any way. They have a viscous coupling, a planetary gear set, and a series of hydraulics that complete the gear changes. A torque converter based automatic can't truly be a manual system as it's design completely different and it inherently loses or never has the benefits of a manual transmission; speed, light-weight design, efficiency, etc. Cliffs: presence of a torque converter = automatic transmission computer controlled shifting doesn't make a DSG an automatic transmission. At it's heart is a manual gearbox with a computer controlling it. To be called an automatic in the traditional sense, it would need a torque converter and hydraulics to make it that. otherwise, it's just a manual system being computer controlled or fully manually controlled. In the end Kerry, I can appreciate your love for a three pedal car but I think that's right up there with the love for playing Vinyl Music. May be more-true in a sense but it's a little antiquated. Even the new GM 8 and 10 speed auto's are more fun in a performance sense than a manual car. Unless of course how you get to speed is more important than the end result.
-
you can shift it manually. just no clutch to have to push and it's a very short throw get used to banging gears like you never have before Think video game fast. gotta luv the DSG Fart Sounds too.
-
I love my DSG. Love shifting gears but in todays world of daily drivers and traffic, no thanks. Also, being able to just hit the go pedal with AWD for effortless and consistent launches it's great. The stock 6spd clutch doesn't handle Stage II well either.
