Doesn't Lowes or Home Depot sell one of those haul away tarp-like dumpsters that you can use... http://www.wm.com/residential/bagster-bag.jsp

All this reminds of me of any number of "youths" that are shot and killed by the police and then their mom goes on TV crying the blame game at cops. That same parent never accepts responsibility for their role in the child's life to insure their 13yr isn't putting themselves in harms way by sneaking out at night with gang-banger friends robbing stores. THAT refusal for parents to parent is what is wrong with society today. Time for society to hold parents accountable for the actions and in-actions in life. Life doesn't just happen and when shit goes wrong, parents need to "account" for what happened and why and in the end own the fact that they are the parent and responsible for their own damn kids. They also need to be "taught" a lesson and held to the expectation that the event that occurred will not be repeated.

No you don't as I've already noted. There is a presumption in the law and in my world day to day that allows me to "pass judgement." The burden now lies with the mother not me or Rocky or anyone else. Until she proves the scope of the situation is different, she is the guilty party and is held accountable. There is no room for "life happens" or "kids do stupid shit" excuses in the law or in life. TL;DR - Mom is responsible for the child; should be held accountable and in the event she has some crazy circumstances, the burden is on her to prove the situation is different than it appears both in the eyes of the law and in the eyes of others with common sense.
-
I see the point you're trying to make but that last phrase is about it not being a fault because life happens isn't going to fly and that's exactly why people are in an uproar. The mother needs to be held accountable. One of the components of charging her with endangerment includes an omission of care by her. To be charged she doesn't have to proactively put a child in danger or a high risk situation but rather she can be charged for failing to do something that she was responsible to do. In the case here, the mother had a responsibility to insure a toddler who can't read nor understand the rules is in her care at all times. There is a presumption in the law that deems this the case without any additional evidence. If the presumption is shown, then the burden shifts to the defendant to disprove the presumption. In the end, she isn't going to go into court and claim "life happens" or "kids will be kids" and expect to get off. The burden will then be on her to prove she was off saving another life or whatever you want to plug in as her excuse. Until then, society has the right to hold her as the responsible party for what happened.

We don't need to know how the kid fell into the exhibit in order to hold the mother accountable. She was the one there responsible for his safety. This "judgement" as you call it, in this case, is based on the end result that a mother failed in her responsibility to keep an eye on her child and by doing so she put his life in danger. She's guilty of child endangerment and that doesn't require evidence of an actual injury only the potential for a harm or injury to the child. Holding the parent in this case accountable for the actions of her child is the answer. That is the constructive solution you seek. If she is not held accountable she will never learn. Society has a right to expect that those participating in it will learn from their McSteaks.

Well our society today has very direct rules regarding how parents are to deal with their children. Neither her or you have to agree with them but the rules are in play. You as a parent are responsible and will be held accountable if your child doesn't attend school and just the same if they fall into a Gorilla cage. Agree on the first point, not on the second. Again, parents have a role to play and they will be held accountable for the actions of their dependents and those they are legally responsible for. There is no "kids will be kids" clause in life. To be accountable means to be responsible for and answerable for an activity or in this case the actions of a child. Quite simply parents need to "parent"
-
It's not about playing the blame-game. At the end of the day, the parent is the one responsible for the child. Not the zoo or the guy standing next to him but the parent. The bandwagon you're seeing is the fact that society today lacks holding people accountable. The parent in this case has an obligation or to accept responsibility or to "account" for the actions of the child in their care. After all, they are the parent. Blame is about who is going to pay the price for the problem caused. Very few are asking her to pay the price literally $$ but there is an argument to be had there. Not one I support but some would argue that. Instead, I'd argue she should be charged with child endangerment. Until we hold people "accountable" they will not learn from the mistakes that occurred. I do think it's fair to say we all should expect those that fuck up in life at the very least learn from those mistakes and change their behavior. Letting her off with nothing more than saying kids will be kids does nothing to help her learn and thus better protect that child from her future fuck ups. Kids will be kids but adults who are legally responsible for them need to be held accountable for what occurs in situations like this. That's the role they play in the matter as a parent and guardian.

Motion sensing sprinkler String up some fishing line as a sort of web or trap etc. We have proximity sensors on the property that essentially ring a doorbell alerting me to the presence of someone so I can be prepared/alerted. Priceless to watch a 70lb Pit Bull scare the fuck out of someone just "walking" down the street (coming up my driveway) for no reason at 2am as I let the dog out the front door to piss. Kid ran for the hills. http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/patches_zpsy4ataezg.jpg

Hats off to all those we've lost and are currently serving and protecting those of us at home. For me that includes my oldest brother who is enjoying retirement and served 12yrs in the Air Force and both my father and late brother who were in the Army. In celebration we're kicking off a beautiful morning getting the smoker going and that goes with it ready. Inside are 3 full racks of pork ribs. May sound silly to include the below, but this is the smoker that my father and I enjoyed together the weekend I began caring for him prior to his passing. We had a good time sharing stories around the fire pit and devouring some good eats from this. Today's smoke is in his honor. Lost him 2yrs ago this past April. http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/Misc%20Fun/OY6A6442%20web_zpsdgccw43e.jpg http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/Misc%20Fun/OY6A6454%20web_zps8riabsjs.jpg

Is is a go or is the holiday weekend going to keep people away? Finally got a chance to get out early and am looking forward to it if it's a go.

Remove any of the crap around Benghazi and the above is still true...

LOL as last I checked the car is smart but the license and priviliage to drive is granted to the driver. Planes have auto pilot modes too but the person behind the controls is still responsible for the safety of everyone involved. Can't blame the car. Again, user-error IMO. To expect to have zero involvement while piloting a car or a plane and remain 100% safe is stupid and 100% user error. These are great systems but I don't see anyone claiming that you can relay on them to actually replace the common sense of the person behind the wheel. Adaptive cruise control is awesome but I'm not waiting for my car to slow down if I can clearly see the car in front of me got cut off and is hitting their brakes.

Trish/CR, everyone is pushed for time especially on a Holiday weekend and it's a tight time-frame, but I'd be willing to tackle a couple headlight restores for people who have clouded over messes and have their payment go towards the cause. That would make it a three-way win. I'll donate the time, effort and material costs, they walk away with fresh clear headlights and you would keep the donation. I'll toss this out there for 1, 2 or possibly 3 people as I would need about 1hr per car at my house to get this done. My suggested donation would be $50-75 per car, I'll let the person benefiting make the call. Take your lights from this: http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/Misc%20Detailing/imagejpeg_01_zpsiws8x3ri.jpg to This: http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/Misc%20Detailing/20160207_160057_zpsgk2wbujx.jpg

Tossing out my opinion in that Sony is worth the price delta if you are looking for a full range true color gamut. My 4k and 1080p came out of the box calibrated nearly spot-on. Picture is amazingly accurate. That said most will look good so long as they aren't next to a Sony.

Another bug thread for the hell of it. A neighbor of mine called me over to look at her flowerbed that was "growing" It was growing with a pretty good size field ant nest Here are a few pics and a quick video. The video is real-time not sped-up at all. They are working their asses off for sure. It's about the size of a basketball if not a little bigger. Here are a couple static shots as well. http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/Misc%20Fun/20160524_1029591_zpszuhjqemn.jpg http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/Misc%20Fun/20160524_1029461_zpsejtzsoil.jpg
