haha! I have a Barbie Vette or something that we'll throw in with the house. Has a garge and we can't leave it empty can we Save -
haha! both can cause marring of the paint. Nano pads pull and remove the contaminants and when used properly (plenty of soapy water or lube) those contaminants are flushed away/off. Contrast that with clay whereby you're just simply folding all that dirt into the clay only to then reuse/rub it against the paint further down the road. Thus could you and will you cause some marring with Nano, yes. However it's limited and if done correctly, not much if any. They key to limiting any marring is plenty of lube but also to use Iron X / Chemically decontaminate the paint before you clay. This way the particles are washed away vs simply pulled out and rubbed around. Sorry to hear about the back dude. Honestly, the best advice would be to just do the vehicle 1 or 2 panels at a time. No need to rush and try and tackle it in one day. Last year when we decided to keep our minivan for a couple more years I put it through a full correction but took 1-2 weeks to do it as I did 1-2 panels per day. Once that initial fix is done you can knock out any follow up pretty quickly. I'll PM you some more details vs cloud this thread. Save Save

they work great. I use them by hand vs with a DA as I like to 'feel' how bad things are. it's also not as messy agree.

His initial comment about a "touchless wash" is a bit unnecessary in his scenerio. IMO save your money and ditch the foam gun as the results are on-par if not the same as simply He also doesn't need to worry too much about "scratching" the car with the dirt that's on it, not only because it's very very unlikely, but he's also going to be "correcting" the car thus any harm that's going to come is going to be easily removed. He's more likely going to mar the paint during his claying process. Dawn also doesn't remove any waxes nor will it strip anything. Stick to Meg's Gold Class or another quality product. I would ditch the second rinse bucket too. Just use your garden hose to rinse the MF Wash mitt after each panel. YMMV. The next step that he didn't cover is chemical decontamination. There are a number of different products but CarPro Iron-X or a Tri-X are both really good. Both remove (iron-containing) particles but Tri-x adds a tar remover. If you don't use Tri-x you can simply wipe the lower rocker panels down with a MF Rag and mineral spirits, then simply wash and rinse. IMO this is an important step as if you don't remove those particles you'll be grinding them into the paint and your pads when you buff. Also if you don't remove or dissolve them they can lead to clear coat failure down the road as they corrode and destroy the clear. In terms of clay, that's going by the way-side with the newer They work better, are far safer, mar the paint little to not at all and can be rinsed off if/when dropped. They make them in sponge, towel and even DA Based options. IN the end you'll halve the time it takes too. If you want to know if your car needs clayed, grab a plastic sandwich bag from your pantry, put it on your hand and wipe a panel of your car while it's wet. You'll noticeably "feel" if it's gritty. I save time and money by using soapy water vs any type of lube spray. If you can't use soap for any reason, use a No-Rinse solution mixed up as a lube. Far better and cheaper. No need to wash/rinse after either. When it comes to drying the car, it's best to just grab a leaf blower vs a towel. Drying is the #1 means people cause swirls and scratches. especially on a car that's not waxed / dirty. It will also blow all the water out of the cracks and seems which can be a real PIA when you hit them with a buffer while polishing. After you dry with a blower, use a detail spray or rinseless wash solution to dampen a single drying rag and wipe it down just to insure you remove all the remaining water drops and possible dirt that has been missed. Correction wise, you don't have to wet sand unless the scratches are deep. Tape them off when sanding too otherwise you're pulling off clear in areas it's not necessary. Had to LOL at his white applicator pad comment. You'd have to be pretty strong to by-hand buff through the clear and if you did and saw red paint, you'd be calling Kevin Clifford. Sealant wise please don't apply it as heavy as he did. Especially Meg's Ultimate Wax. Should be so thin you can barely see it. Save

^^ this. cost of home ownership IMO. besides, get a reputable place to fix it and cover it for any potential future issues. that's worth the extra money.

I upgraded Win 7 when they were offering the free upgrade. Did all of our PC's and have had Zero issues. Working great.

You can text on your computer with Android and the S6. Side Sync works flawless for me and texting is one of the features I use most.

Knocked out a full correction detail and a coating on a fellow S4. It was in pretty bad shape but corrected fairly easily. Got a chance to use my new Big Foot iBrid Nano to polish the wheel face. Used the rotary setting with small yellow pad. Overall the unit performed well though. Was able to do all four wheels with a single battery and some to spare. Nice thing is the unit comes with 2 batteries and they only take 25 minutes to charge while providing over 30 minutes of run time, so I can work cordless at all times continuously. http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/OLD%20Gallary%20of%20Images/2013%20Audi%20S4/20161210_182707%20web_zpsmshvlclg.jpg Was hammered pretty badly http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/OLD%20Gallary%20of%20Images/2013%20Audi%20S4/20161210_125837%20web_zpsnnjirxdr.jpg Short video showing the swirls Turned out well though http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/OLD%20Gallary%20of%20Images/2013%20Audi%20S4/P1050225%20web%20door_zps9rfkqpq2.jpg http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/OLD%20Gallary%20of%20Images/2013%20Audi%20S4/P1050217%20web%20hood_zpsn1tdlsrj.jpg CarPro Essence polish is an AWESOME base-polish in prep for coatings and it finishes out so nicely on soft B-Pillars like this. http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/OLD%20Gallary%20of%20Images/2013%20Audi%20S4/20161210_182817%20web_zpsnuoo02zf.jpg http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/ah133/PDQS4/OLD%20Gallary%20of%20Images/2013%20Audi%20S4/20161210_170953%20web_zpsjp1u7ouw.jpg Thomas doesn't post here much but I wanted to thank him for his trust and also the referral for yet another customer! sounds like what EPL does too. The S4 in my garage awaiting a detail is a Stage II+ like mine but with an EPL tune. I still vote APR For the mere fact that they have pretty powerful well proven tunes.

until the moment one of them is involved in this type of situation. Howard is spot on. no way I'd want to be in that situation unarmed.

Welcome. Also, you'll have to forgive Clay for asking for pics of your junk. We have yet to control him. Don't take him for a ride in your van either :ninja:

^^ This. Really sad to hear. Such a great life though.

I have a very well insulated garage and am coming from the same type of unit just the old one was 25yrs old and only 120v/2500 watts or something like that. It's 24 degrees outside but 65 in my garage right now without issue. I usually only see about a $25-50mo bump depending on how often I'm out there. Again, it doesn't kick on that often and I keep the garge at 45-55 typically and it rarely needs to kick on to keep it there. When I"m out there I kick it up to 65-70 range. This one should run less as it will heat up quicker. I like that the fan won't below until the element is hot and runs until the element cools even after the element shuts down. Overall should be more efficient. They key is how well insulated the garage is. Ours is 2.5 cars, attached, with a full bedroom above it and the cieling is well insulated. We have a top notch insulated door too. Outside wall has a better r-factor than the rest of the house.

Get rid of the BMW, Pimp Machine and the CTS-V, put down a little money and buy a <8k mile one for some savings, add in a few bucks for the badges and rock the dang thing. You're not getting any younger The savings on insurance on the cars you have will make up a bit of the difference each month. Save

^^ no-brainer enhancements. Not sure what the costs would be to add a decent SC to the mix but that would round out the package perfectly.

per my call Clay, here's the heater I ended up going with. changed gears based on reviews which were solid but also the guy I have installing the new 220V outlet has installed a dozen or more of these without issue. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Fahrenheat-5-000-Watt-Unit-Heater-FUH54/202043073 You can get it on Amazon for about the same price. I'm also adding in a remote thermostat so I won't have to touch the unit itself. I'm going to have it installed outside my entry door from the garage to the house so I can lean out there and kick it on or off easily. The one I'm choosing however will have a timer on it though as I plan on keeping the garage at 55* minimum throughout the winter.

get it cleaned up before you go :ninja:

Hawaiian Vacation, what are the best spots and things to do?
TTQ B4U replied to SpaceGhost's topic in Dumpster
Helicopter tours are great. We've been to several islands on various trip and I love the views from up high. Ironically I went two year ago, stayed on Kawai and rented white 5.0 drop top and took it all the way around the island....well from tip to tip since you can't drive all the way around.
