My shotgun is loaded with 00 buck and Slugs at all times. No safety on but none in the chamber. It is ALWAYS very close to where I sleep. It will get cocked if someone invades my house. I haven't shot the Sigs. Between the XDM and G23 I would pick the glock. I have a g26 for carry and a g21 for the range. Glocks just work and fit perfect in my hand. I have never had any issues, jams, or misfires. I will say I am not the best gun cleaner but they both function without error every time. They are not for everyone and there is nothing wrong with that. Do what feels best in your hands.

If you have to get a smaller youth shotgun then so be it. Guns are tools make sure to get one that works best for you.
