HD won't work in external drive. I made a bootable Linux USB stick and it also won't boot. I bought this last Christmas. Do acers only last a year ?

This is normal for New York. They are full of angry people. Must be from all the rats that co-exist in all their structures.

So I have an Acer e5-511 laptop that I reinstalled windows 10 on yesterday. That worked fine. I installed all the needed custom apps and all the windows updates. I rebooted and it went to the desktop without a problem. I shut it down and went to bed. Today when I turn it on it says No Bootable device. I am guessing the Hard Drive MBR is corrupted after I shut it down. No big deal I go into BIOS and it can see there is a hard drive there. I setup the boot order to boot from the physical hard drive last. CD-ROM and USB are at the top. I put in my trusty Hiren's boot disk CD but it refuses to see it and tries the HD and fails. I go back into BIOS and there is an option F12 for boot menu that I enable. I reboot and go into the boot menu but it sees nothing not even the HD. Okay so I make a bootable USB Hiren's stick. Reboot F12 it doesn't see either the USB, CD, or HD. I try my Windows 10 CD and it does boot from that. I try the Win10 repair option but it doesn't see the hard drive. Same deal if I try to just reinstall windows 10. At this point I am puzzled so I take apart the case to get to the hard drive. I made sure the tiny ass ribbon cables are connected to the motherboard. Put it all back together and no dice. Just to rule out bad media I test booting my USB and the CD on another desktop and that works fine. What is wrong with this laptop? Did the HD die and also something with the motherboard not booting to other storage options? Any other ideas I should check?

Sounds like you want a work from home job so you can be with your kids. Do you know any other languages? You can be a interpreter for a decent wage. If not you can try medical transcriptionist. If you have some computer knowledge and skills some call centers will let you work from home. Many choices out there if you look.

School is a great option if you can stick with the extra hours. 1 hour of in school lectures = 2 hours of studying at home. You will not save any money in the short term. Depending on your career choice you might come out ahead in a few years. You also run the risk of getting a degree in a field you will not enjoy. Pick your poison carefully. If you can't handle school you need to either work 2 jobs at a time or do something illegal/shady. I DO NOT condone either of these choices. One is low risk and low return and the other is the complete opposite. Don't ask me about my personal experience because I won't tell you. Either way you won't have free time. Serious question what is more important to you, family time or money? Only you can answer this.

I never thought I would side with this guy but life always throws you a curve ball. You tip because you like the service. You tip because someone drove to your house. You don't tip because someone is making a low wage. To answer OP question I've never been there so no idea. If no one served me I wouldn't tip. This is the same reason why I almost never tip when I get carryout. Only a few places will I tip on carryout and that is because their food is fucking awesome (Hass on sawmill for example).

I will donate you bullets but only if you come up with a 5 paragraph sob story of why you need them. Also while we are on the same subject someone approached me at the gas station and had a sob story of how they needed to see their child and didn't have any money to make it. They didn't want to walk in this cold weather and snow but it was imperative they get to see their kid. I told them I just spent all my cash on gasoline and left them there. I must be the bad guy.

I am trying to close an LLC and have not had good luck with using the yellow pages. I've called 3 different lawyers and only one has returned my call which turned into e-mails. A few e-mails on updates have not been replied. Calling the guy back and leaving voice mails also no response. Maybe this time of the year is busy? Maybe he is blowing me off? I've been trying since November. Anyone know of a lawyer who can help me out? I have cash to pay for this and I am ready to go.

I tried my amazon firestick and XBCM. It ran okay. Most of the TV or Movies I wanted to watch would stream but would buffer often. So in my experience it worked but not well. I just run a plex server and "acquire" what I want and stream to my stick. That seems to work as long as I don't pause the stream. In my living room I just use $200 Microcenter PC and windows folder sharing with zero problems. VLC.exe is all I use on it.
