I wasnt planning on taking the heads off i dont think I have a mass air conversion kit but dont want to put that in at the same time but i do want to do a cam but have no idea how to install a cam haha i guess ill just need some help......

right around 36 pounds for each upper and lower combo so thats roughly 72 pounds of high grade mustang aluminum ha

whats wrong with the oil pan gasket? I dont think im doing head gaskets and will prob need bigger intake mani gaskets for that explorer intake of mine you have right?

Well today I was going to do an oil change on White Lightning and check the plugs in the 5.0 and just a few routine check ups. I climb under the car and see that the 90k stock oil pan gasket is leaking, along with the valve cover gaskets, those of you whom have owned a 5.0 or have ever seen one knows upper intake must come off for valve cover gaskets boo to that....Well anyways I take the upper intake off and after about an hour if hiding/fixing wiring harness and cleaning up shit I remember that I had a GT-40 intake laying around along with a bunch of other goodies so I said F' it might as well pull the motor..... The car is an 88 GT 5.0 5 speed, mods as of now will be.. -Mass air conversion -GT-40 Intake with spacer ported by Gearhead -FRPP E303 cam/or somehting else -BBK 70mm throttle body -freshen up stock block -full length MM subframe connectors - trick flow double roller timing chain -24# injectors possibly -canton 7qt pan/windage tray -melling high volume oil pump -possibly AC delete -130 amp 3G alternator -electric fan I also plan on hiding a bunch of harnesses and cleaning up the engine bay so the car looks some what respectable. Im sure im forgetting some things here are some pics of what happened today....

I should of just called you hoblick, the car is in my driveway most electrical is removed and labeled, alternator is out of car as well, Guess ill search around for some help with time and go for it...doesnt sound too bad

I am wondering How much more work it is to take the engine out of a 5.0 mustang, I already have the upper intake off and the car is a 5 speed car, I would like to take the motor out, put a new oil pan and gasket on the car, is this easily done or is a pain in the ass, I have an engine stand and hoist.... Just wondering if i should thorw the new intake on or pull the motor and clean it up while the intake is off that being said, does anyone have the mount thing that bolts to a mustang 5.0 intake to pull the engine out?

I am replacing some stuff under the hood of my 88 5.0 and my stock alternator bracket is all jimmyed up, anyone have a stock foxbody alternator bracket laying around? Let me know asap Thanks
