  1. ^^^Probably the best bet then!. My dad made a pine tree 'fence' on 2 sides of the back yard when they moved in 15 years ago...They are probably 30 feet tall now, but it was an awesome move. Looks way better than any fence. I think he got them all at Oakland Nursery. I think they 'warranty' them for a period of time too. Some WILL die, whether it be in one year or ten. It happens. Just be ready for it.
  2. I typically drive through the ghetto down Weber / Cleveland if I need to go to the Eastonian area. People in the hood drive like crazed lunatics, but always quickly!
  3. I didnt really read the whole thread....but that is tough one. I am not looking forward to dealing with it in 17 years. I can compare the two different dynamics though. My wifes mother and father were very strict about that (like how you are proposing) and she just did things anyway behind her parents back. In contrast I dated a girl for a long long time and when we were 17 or 18 I was ALWAYS spending the night at her parents place. I had a good relationship with her parents and I think it showed her parents really trusted her. Yeah we banged all the time there, but her parents never bothered to 'check in' or anything. Certainly could have. What I am saying is, I dont think it is bad to allow someone else to crash at your place so long as you set expectations. Otherwise, she is going to be crashing over at her friend "Jennifer"s house and you wont be none the wiser....Well. I am sure parents are always skeptical about if most kids actually do what they say they will or wont, but if they are HOME, regardless of who might be staying over, id call that a win.
  4. Looked like it was tucked right up to the floor....so anything reasonably close to that...carpet...wires ect
  5. Haha. What can I say...They are F'ing bright!
  6. Hard to see as this is the only pic I have to use... but you can see my garage on the right...you can barely see the little light I have under the soffit. It lights that whole 12x15 area beside the garage very well. I have another outside the gate to light the driveway area...Id say you ger decent light for a 15' radius if aimed right. Pretty nice. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a299/iwashmycar/405C43BD-46C7-428F-86DD-48D16F3AE412_zpsipbac3cy.jpg They literally can take just one screw and they are installed. There is space for 3 screws though if you like.
  7. Back on topic...that exhaust wont melt shit!? As "junkyard" as the car is, its a lot of work to go down in flames....
  8. Do you have lights? Random, but cheap...I have a few of these around and they work pretty well. I think they sort of look like cameras so some dumb criminal might not know any better when the light kicks on. I have had them for 3 or 4 years now and they still work flawlessly...batteries last a year or two! Just wanted to share http://www.homedepot.com/p/Mr-Beams-Outdoor-Black-Wireless-Motion-Sensing-LED-Spot-Light-MB360/205299966?cm_mmc=Shopping|Base&gclid=CjwKEAjwucmoBRDmysGsgbDr5j0SJAAxL9ab1tNsIekK3qLcjBMs4f9tyFfX9KSeyUlQPEZgQFXfxBoC2Mnw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
  9. Yeah geesh. I would have driven up to the side of it and just laid on the horn until they were out of the way.....but I bet he didnt see him at all. Dude in the car was probably also like WFT...why arent we moving!
  10. good. i am glad they didnt salt.
  11. Random idea...can they use 2, 2-bolt flanges?
  12. They wont last 20 years. No new cars will lol
  13. Good think I planted all that grass seed. :fuuuu:
  14. I think he was saying that in regards to Sully mentioning Sprint.
  15. Its hard to beat VZW service. The Sprint cut your bill in half thing is pretty intriguing, but at what cost (service wise). We pay ~156/mo for my iPhone, wifes S4, and 10Gigs to share at VZW.
  16. I have (had) 2 similar tubes on mine which protect the cats on each side. They dont seem very strong and I snapped off the mounting bolts when I was adding skid plates. Havent had them on since. You can either ditch them, or just coat them. I highly suggest Fluid Film...just spray everything down with it and it will stop rust from continuing. If you really care you could wire brush and repaint first.
  17. Looks like just the truck if you ask me. :fuckyeah: Id never get an FJ with 3 kids. I will never have 3 kids. Ive had one for 9 months now and I am still on the "never again" boat. I couldnt fathom getting a family of 5 into an FJ with the suicide doors in any parking lot. Its hard enough with a diaper bag and one kid lol ...but thats why we got the Rav4 too! I secretly pine for an 80 series Land Cruiser, but I dont want to depend on something that old when I am so used to a newer truck. To add fuel to the fire: 18 grand for 80K miles and a ton of good mods - http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/vehicles-sale/315050-2007-titanium-18-000-80k-miles.html (I know it isnt close to him, its an example) One in Columbia SC - 100K for 16.5. - http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/vehicles-sale/365146-2007-silver-4wd.html Richmond - 125K for 15. - http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/vehicles-sale/345066-2007-silver-fj-16500-a.html
  18. I'm sure you could spacer lift a Highlander and toss a set of XDs with Trail Grapplers on it. They are like the Ed Hardy t-shirt of wheels.
  19. Wont be disappointed if he can find one. There are plenty of FJs under 100K for around that price. Just gotta look. 18.5K should net around 80K miles with a good deal. The manual ones are full time 4WD and automatically come with the locker. ATs are part time (rear when in 2HI). The Manual ones thus always feel more planted to the road. If he's on the book, check out the NCFJ page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ncfjcruisers/ I've wheeled with many of those guys and they may be able to assist. Good people 4Runners can be great as well. They are not as capable out of the box, but they have many perks. You have to think of the FJ as almost a 2-door. Also no auto opening rear windows (they sell an electric ram kit). Have to crack the rear glass to get any good airflow through with the windows down, when in contrast the 4RNR has power rear glass (along with the rear side windows)
  20. That is only in Canada http://pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=OH edit: i missed someone posted the site already
  21. Dat R title brah http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121073
  22. I think that Wheel Wax is worth it. Apply it a couple times per year and they are noticeably easier to clean / smooth It worked wonders on my old car with the notorious 'BMW' brake dust. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a299/iwashmycar/Mini/0225098.jpg
  23. Got a quick wash and vac in. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a299/iwashmycar/0F0DE823-F949-42B2-99EF-2EC11C3331E5_zpsp3ckx505.jpg
