  3. dont have pics, its a pooper. I got the number on the right side of the frame under the tripple tree. was there an xr500 back in the 70s-80s?
  4. I am working on my uncles dirtbike and i have no clue what it is. He says its a cr 500 but its a 4-stroke and looks like maybe an xr 650 or 400. Is there a website i can type in the vin number to figure out what it is. PEOI-5000718 thats what i got off the frame.
  5. sorry to hear that man. it is amazing for people like your dad to have been around that long providing service to customers like that who only went to him. its unfortunate he had to close up after all those years.
  6. Hopefully thats all it needs. fluid is clean and it recently had a pan gasket and filter put on. i just dont want to do a trans flush with the additive and have to turn around and dump it out to do the band adjustment.
  7. yeah yeah, i know. I hear it all day everyday at work. i wanted a fullsize truck and this was the only one i could get approved on by myslef so i took what i could get
  8. My transmission is acting up on on me. when taking off it seems as though its skipping or not wanting to stay in gear. it will also down shift then shift up randomly when taking off. If i let off the gas right before 1st shifts to second, there is a loud clunk also. This all happens under normal acceleration. if i get on it even just a lil it will shift fine. how do i know if i need to do a trans flush with lucas additive or the bands need adjusted?

  11. update* Its getting 50psi of fuel, spark on all 4 coils, good compression and still runs like garbage. ran for like 3 seconds then wouldnt restart. sounds like its backfiring coming from the intake. car only has 76k on it. i have no clue whats wrong
  12. i know it wont make it miss fire but getting the compression test done let me know the condition of the engine. the dead cylinders where the ones at 150. i think they where just washed down with gas. im going to do more testing this weekend on it, just wanted to see what you guys thought about it since i dont ever see issues like this with these motors. and its the 2.2 ecotech not the quad 4 2.4 which your thinking about dave

My friends girlfriends malibu started running like crap. so i hooked up my scanner and found cylinders 3 and 4 dead. i didnt have awhole lot of tools with me but i checked for fuel, and compression. compression was 180-170-150-150. I told him to go pick up a coil pack for since these go bad on these ecotecs and 3 and 4 was dead. prior to this he said the motor was knocking before it got real bad and wouldnt run on two cylinders. i didnt get to hear it so i figured it was just the engine making noises from only running on 2 cylinders. well he went and got another coil pack set up and it still barley ran but made it to my house. said it was knocking real bad and it will barley even turn over if it does. battery will have plenty of juice but it will just click or maybe get 1-3 turnovers sometimes. i personaly havent seen problems like this with these motors and before i tell him the motor is poop, i figure i would get a second opinion

  20. - estimate please and whats wrong with it - i hope its the motor not an electrical issue, head tech at work said something about an intermediate relay? - i dont remeber the code exactly but its said something about communication with the abs module - ur a jew, i thought you forgot about that
  21. Well i got rid of the all mighty colorado for a ram. I know i was warned before i bought it about typical dodge issues but now i have it and need some help. First, the trans shifts funny. When going from 1st to 2nd it acts like it cant make up its mind if it wants to shift or not, there a delay. Also, if i let off the gas right before shifting into second there is a loud clunk. Will a trans flush save me or did i get shafted. On the freeway the abs and brake light come on and the abs dont work. when i shut the truck off it goes away untill i get back on the freeway. the code says something about accessing memory from the module or something, i cant remeber exactly. Last (for right now) the wipers will stop in 3 different places randomly unless im on the last two settings for constant. Is this a wiring problem?
