Other than the Gremlin im sure you have the same or more money in the cost of building your car than two of my brothers and myself..... these three cars and the ramblermans car are mostly using factory stuff(block,heads,crank,rods,) with add ons...other than new pistons the bottom ends are stock..........my brothers AMX was in hot rodding magazine when they were there for the NMCA event early in the year.....the mag bragged how it was true muscle other than being .030 over was mostly factory stuff with bolt ons that anyone could do.......that day it ran 10.66@126 N/A @ 3350lbs....and thats with a Nos torque converter, that would be roughly 10.3s with a converter set up for the engine only.....and thats less than 5k in the engine.. Now knock it off before i go buy a newer car and beat you with a AMC powered up to date 90s camaro.....then people would love and hate it at the same time.

The gremlin and my youngest bro's spirit have t-400 and oldest bro's amx has a 904 and mine 727... The t-400's and torqueflites bolt direct to the amc engine from the factory with cases designed for amc..

it is an addiction and power cost money... We also have and had for years very good running cars using factory stuff...the gremlin we had at the odra meet has gone 5.70 using factory block,crank, and heads with a 250shot of nos.....this combo using a 200 shot is not running much better, but has the potential to handle more power....the torque converter in the car is from the old engine and is showing almost 20% slippage and ofcourse you know it should be around 6-8%

Block $4100....that is aluminum and is capable of holding big power numbers...they are thinking about making it in cast iron and the price would be roughly $2500 to 3000.... heads can be from roughly $1200 to $3500 depending on parts or and cnc work...but i will tell you what indy or elderbrock says they flow, can be greatly higher... To most people that buy the good aftermarket parts, those prices would not be considered out of line...

Im not trying to convince people to run AMC......run what ya want.... Thanks to Indy performance and others you can buy everything new....its expensive compared to what were use to spending...but its there...

By the way did you know Dick Maskins( owner of Dart products) use to run an AMC pro stock car........and he told me and a buddy of mine at a show years ago that his knowledge of building a stonger engine for chevy along with better heads derived from his experience with AMC......Mainly he said the strong blocks and the head flow.......hey but what the hell does he know......i could show you strong resemblance between an AMC block and aftermarket blocks today....thats why an AMC block can support over 1000hp without destroying itself... Trans am racing (road racing) was very popular in the 60s and early 70s....and AMC won back to back titles in 1971 & 2....and also did very well in NHRA and IHRA Stock classes and pro stock, also did pretty good in Nascar and the baja 500 along with pikes peak...

No..you don't get it...im talking about his (the LS1) up to date technologly versus the amc old school....throw the price of the cars out the window and start with the same car....i garantee and old school AMC engine can be built to be faster with less money.... If you dont know who i am, you better ask somebody....im the guy that back up what i said last winter and no one on here did.....so tell me who's the bitches.......hell, i put up a add for a month on here that i would pay someone $300 if they come up here and beat our fastest car and they pay nothing when they lose....there were no takers...

Now remeber last winter when i made a callout (who owns your streets) .....not one of those guys that were arguing with me had anything for us, so they had no business being in there either... my old post from then below, saying i wanted your fastest dig cars,.. 99% of the people posting and harassing had nothing.........payback.. Who owns your streets ? Here in the Akron/canton/younstown area we rule the streets, i want to know who your top guys are, and if there interested in coming up here next year to get wooped by THE AMC BOYS, we were going to come down with the Akron racing guys this past summer but heard your cars down there are a bunch of sleds so we did not waste our time. So if you got a few guys that think they own your streets send them to canton next year, and we will run them and see what you C-town boys got. I am looking to see who has the fastest true street car in Ohio and guys that are willing to run on the streets to prove it. not this tow it to the track shit and race.

wipdedodaday 430hp with no good power curve or torque and it wont last for any substantial time...big freaken deal... 135...so what did it ET......yea thats what i thought...lucky if it went 10s...and same as above with its durability....

I would hope no one ever offers me that so i would not be tempted, but i know and so does my wife that it would be against our beliefs, and how could you ever tell your kids where the money come from, and even if you dont have kids now someday you may, and the question will come up from them daddy how are we so rich or how do we have so much money and you don't work...explain that.. Listen work can be a drag sometimes but its what were suppose to do,..anytime you think God i hate working,.....just think how a severly handicap person would love to be normal and get up everyday and go to work......life can be worse for those of us that are healthy and able...enjoy life...
