  1. Those guys are just plain crazy. Human ballast. The IOMTT is just amazing. It takes another level of rider to do that. There are so many places where laying it down means you'll go 100+mph into a brick wall or off a mountain. There was a great article in Evo Magazine. They took two super cars to the Isle of Man for a test drive. I believe it was the Porsche GT2 and Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. While there, they were passed by a motorcyclist and decided to try and keep up with him. In the open sections on the mountain they could just barely keep up because of the long straights. But they said that he left a perfect black pencil line out of every corner. When the road really got tight, the motorcycle just disappeared. On their way back home they ran into a guy who asked them if they were driving up on the mountain the day before. When they said yes, the guy said he had heard about the two white sports cars from his 65 year old co-worker that was riding to work that day on his motorcycle.
  2. While I wouldn't complain about a RS200 in my garage, I'd rather have this: http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/classic-car-page.php/carno/128070
  3. A friend of a friend had a great idea. The Gov will pay you $25,000 to get sterilized. Think about it. Who would jump on this without a second thought? And how much money in welfare and public services would that save in the long run? Win-fucking-win. EDIT: fuck, should have finished reading the thread. Well, I see it's not an uncommon idea.
  4. I went from terrible credit to no credit then used the method I posted above to get to good credit. Started in 07 with no credit at all, but I haven't been working on my credit this whole time. I think you need to put in 3 good years to get a good score.
  5. The wake-up at the proper point in your sleep cycle thing sounds good. If they get it right, that'd rock.
  6. FreeCreditReport.com does a great job of pointing out issues and common ways to fix them. They also explain how things impact your score and ways to use them to your best advantage. Like credit cards. They're good to have, bad to max out. All credit cards will help if used responsibly. I started with Gas cards. They're easier to get into since they don't have huge limits, and you can't go wild with them since they're only good at gas stations. Use them then pay them off each month. Store credit cards work too. I have a Best Buy card and carry a balance that I pay down making at least double the minimum payment each month. And Best Buy usually has "Same as Cash" deals with their card where if you pay off before a certain date it's 0% interest. Just be SURE to pay off by that date, or they'll hit you with ALL the interest you skipped. If you think you can be faithful and not fall behind, get a car loan. Even if your credit is bad, most dealerships will be able to find SOMEONE to give you a loan. It'll be at a really poor rate, and you'll have trouble sitting down for a while, but next to a house loan it's one of the best things for your credit. My score is getting up there, but my report says I'm being hampered by my lack of big credit cards. So I picked up a card from my bank that I'm going to use like my Best Buy card. Once I start using that, I hope to get close to or crack 800. All of this advice is worthless if you don't keep on top of your payments, however. Good bill paying history is essential.
  7. I'll put my room of infinite monkeys to work on that.
  8. BF3 Campaign? Bah! I buy BF3 for MP. Freakin' awesome. Amazing graphics too.
  9. I can't hear you over the "DUNdun DUN dun-dun"
  10. Yeah, I saw it. It was when Hamilton and Massa had yet another incident. It was all Massa this time, IMO. Though my recording of the race was cut short so I don't know who the stewards penalized.
  11. This had me laughing. At this point, I think his "act" is his natural mode now.
  12. Another option; you could start with a cheap RWD junker and come out to learn some low-traction car control until you can afford to build your dream drifter. Mustangs are inexpensive to get and repair. I've been thinking of picking one up for a change of pace at the regional events.
  13. I have one cable throttle and two DBW cars. There's very little differnce between them. One interesting thing about DBW cars is that you can change the throttle map like any other fueling map. On my Legacy I have the Subaru I-drive which switches between three different throttle maps. The weakest doesn't open the butterfly beyond 50% and the best is as responsive as my STI and WRX. A tuner can even modify each of the three maps if I wanted.
  14. New Jersey? Really? New Jersey is going to have world-class facilities on par with other F1 tracks around the world? I'll believe it when I see it. It'll never get built on time and Bernie will drop it like a dead fish. They have no idea about the level of corruption in local "contractors" in NJ. This will only make us look bad.
  15. Pretty sure this is a repost. Yup. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94701&highlight=ariel+atom I remember all the comments about how the guy looks like this: :gabe:
  16. reminds me of an old Helicopter game called Steel Talons. The arcade version had a mallet that would strike the seat under you whenever you got hit. Scared the crap out of me the first time it happened. :lolguy:
  17. If I ever move back east, I'm going to pay my friend's water bill here so I can keep my cars registered here. It'd be a lot cheaper than paying Excise Tax and dealing with yearly inspections.
  18. 4+ bars (inside my place) and 4G near Tuttle.
  19. I don't think climbing over a counter and going at someone is just "being aggressive."
  20. That's Lucia Rijker, a woman, and a champion in both boxing and kickboxing. My point is that when someone comes at you, you have no idea what kind of training they've had. If someone attacks me, man or woman, I'd look for the closest thing I can turn into a weapon to end the fight a quickly and safely (for myself) as possible. Pride be damned.
  21. So you'd square off against this woman: http://home.versatel.nl/j.antonisse/HillyBits/image/portreten/R_luciar%20ijker.jpg

    Whatsit?

It runs on house current. So maybe a dryer motor or vacuum? Not sure about the size.
