  1. It's still not fixed? Last I heard they put a giant wedding ring around the well and it stopped putting out.
  2. The people who the NAACP represent need to stand up and smack the leadership around. Stuff like this ruins their credibility and paints them as ignorant extremists that only want attention.
  3. Love to take that to a hedge maze and move it from gap to gap.
  4. That movie is hilariously awful. It's even better if you download the fansubbed version. About halfway through the movie the engrish-english translator gave up and left the japanese-engrish translator to fend for himself. "Send the brightness above!"
  5. You'll be so happy to have that nice smooth tarmac... Until they do what they did at 5th and Dublin RD. They repaved part of the intersection and only a couple months later there are spraypaint marks showing where they plan to cut it up...
  6. True, but we're not discussing warranties. Besides, the drop-dead gorgeous styling makes occasional service call easy to overlook. I don't know what it is, but Aston Martin has put their finger on what makes a car look good.
  7. Best car that I could afford? Got it. Subaru STI. Best car, period? That is much more difficult... I guess this car ticks the most boxes all at once: Aston Martin DBS. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4008/4672523239_bdf73d9af6_b.jpg But it's hard to pick one best since I like a lot of different cars for different reasons.
  8. Well, you said you were free Saturday night, and knew of a little place on the east side.....
  9. I don't think performance is the point of the turbo here. You're going to start seeing more and more small displacement turbocharged engines in the future. The idea is that you get small displacement mileage, with enough "oomph" to merge into highway traffic. OP: It's interesting. If I wasn't so opposed to FWD, I'd consider giving it a test drive. But that's only because I have fun cars to play with. If it were my only car, I wouldn't look twice at it.
  10. Cut the windshield frame off, strip out the rest of the useless stuff, fit some harnesses and racing slicks, and go AutoX it.
  11. The response about it being fake because there would be magma is making my brain hurt. Stupid people shouldn't be allowed to communicate. It's like thought pollution, and should be regulated by the EPA.
  12. Legacy GT Premium Unless you get to keep the difference, then Legacy 2.5I Premium. For a company car, there's no need for a turbo and you can save the cash for your toys.
  13. Love the "Rat". Wish I had the time and money to build one, I have some ideas I'd like to try.
  14. Bad for the transmission? No. No reason why it should be. If anything, it'll be easier on the synchros since the difference in revs between one gear and the next will be less. I don't know what your friend seems to think goes on inside a transmission, but there's nothing that has trouble operating at low speeds. Bad for the engine? Maybe, in a small way, if you are lugging the engine all the time. But I don't think it really matters.. The Colorados at work like to tool around at 1.5K rpms.
  15. The LOL thread is FAIL thread today.
  16. 20mph is laughably slow to take a rotary/roundabout?
  17. Group of car owners who have a proclivity for geometry-abusing suspension setups are renting out a race track.. ..to PARK on it.
  18. Healthy usually means low or no preservatives. This can be an issue since most vending machines are not temperature controlled. Vending machine items are usually impulse buys. You'll have to find things that are appealing and able to be eaten on-the-go.
  19. Great idea.. Rearview mirrors, glasses, and welding helmets have the ability to adjust their opacity according to ambient light conditions. Should be simple to make a helmet visor that does this too. I'd love to have one that can vary the tint slowly like those reactive glasses, but then can bump it up quickly like a welding helmet to counteract turning towards the sun or getting a flash of glare from another car's windshield. There's been a few times where I've come out of a turn straight into the sun and been unable to find the entry for the next turn..
  20. Yes Mandated by SCCA safety rules. Also a very good idea in RallyCross where bumps and ruts can cause big guys like me to clock our heads on the door frame. Not so sold on it for AutoX though... Like: Safety Dislike: Heat, uncomfortable to put on and remove (no comfort issues when on) For the amount of time I wear a helmet, I'm willing to sacrifice features for affordability. Smaller size, easier on/off, and cooler temperatures while in a car might make me step slightly above my price point. But no $400+ helmets for me. Honestly, if there was a way to certify a helmet for use in an enclosed car with no roll cage that was lighter and smaller, I think it would find a lot of popularity in amateur motorsports.
  21. Do what I do: OVR schedules all their events at the beginning of the year. Get the dates and request them all as soon as you can. If hey schedule on a day you request off, just inform them that you had it requested for the past few *months*. Or even work a deal with your boss where you'll work other hours to get that day off.. Most retail places I've worked have been at least reasonable about stuff like that.
  22. FWD.. pass. AWD system in the MS6 is failsauce also.
  23. Papa John's. Any large, even specialty pizzas, $10.
