I think I'm the only person that can't read "tags." I don't know why. Everyone I know can read them, but they're just jumbles of shapes to me. I have no issues reading normally, it's just this type of lettering that looks like gibberish.

Since we've drifted to sigs and such.. One problem I've been having with sigs on CR is the load times on some threads. It's not that the pictures are too big, but that they're hosted on overloaded servers. Hard to fix, I know. Just griping a bit.

Drove 9 years in New England winters with RWD cars. I prefer them to FWD because you can actually get them to turn. A LSD equipped RWD car is even better in the snow.

I had forgotten what they re-branded to. If I remember correctly it's specifically because they are putting more resources into RallyCross. I prefer Stage Rally too, but it's a pain to insure and control in the US. Plus, it's not as fun for live spectators. Euro RallyCross is great for spectators however, which means ticket sales and more money. And it's nothing like X-Games. Some european RallyCross vids: These cars are nasty little purpose-built monsters. Essentially, they're unrestricted stage rally cars. If you look closely, you'll even see that they put the radiators in the back to keep them from being blocked by dirt. I think this has a chance of getting much more attention than Stage Rally because it is so spectator-friendly.

True. Having high profile drivers has helped the exposure of american rally racing. And they are entertaining. But I just think people give him too much credit. Each shot of the gymkhana videos is 5-15 takes. And I know I can pull off a lot of his stunts myself. Rally America has brought European style RallyCross to the US. Six 500+hp cars, door to door, on a mixed tarmac/gravel track with jumps. If they can get that televised on Speed or any major network, I bet you'll see a lot of new interest. As it is, a friend of mine is thinking of building a car for that in the next couple years. Hopefully it catches on and spreads to more than one venue by that time.

Every single dealership I've ever been to has been shady in one way or another. The only reason I can think of is that people EXPECT dealerships to be a bunch of crooks, so they act accordingly. This, in turn, pisses off peopel who are trying to be honest, but are being treated like crooks. So then they start acting the part since they'll be treated like that anyways. And the cycle starts over again in a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy... I haven't had much interaction with the guys at the dealership; the only real repair was my fault and wouldn't have been covered under warranty. So I can't comment on Byers' Subaru. But when it comes down to it, if I set foot inside a dealership's doors, I expect to get screwed, so I make sure it's as little as possible. BTW, what is it with the guys who run the parts departments at dealerships? They always seem to have one guy who knows what he's doing, and 5 monkeys who can't figure out how to pull their thumbs out of their asses. And the guy who does know his shit spends more time at lunch than actually working...

I cruise at an indicated 75 which is actually 72-73mph. (This thread reminds me that I need to calibrate the speedo in the new car) It's fast enough to satisfy the little speed demon inside, but slow enough to stay below the radar of most cops. I just don't speed excessively any more. The hassle with a ticket, let alone insurance getting bumped, just isn't worth it. As for a radar detector, I don't own one. I just keep my speed sensible. But for long trips, just to be sure, I hook up a CB radio. Truckers are better than a radar detector any day. You'll hear about a cop MILES before a fuzzbuster would ever pick up a signal. "Eastbound, you've got a bear looking for customers at mile marker ###" You'll hear about cops AND highway patrol. You can't make an entire cruiser "instant-on."

I just put a Mishimoto radiator and fan shroud in the WRX, and I agree, it's a great radiator for the price. Installation of the radiator was straight forward with no real hitches. The fan shroud on the other hand requires some electrical knowledge since it didn't come with any instructions and Mishimoto never got back to me on my questions. But now that it's in, my coolant needle doesn't budge more than a milimeter. So another :thumbup: for Mishimoto radiators.

If you're upset about slow delivery of aid, and your only solution is to slow it down further, then you deserve what you get. However, I'm thinking that these protesters are less about getting aid to the PEOPLE faster and more about getting aid to THEMSELVES first.
