  1. I read about that. Seems he's a well seasoned rally photographer. He knew about that spot and chose it specifically because he could use the wall to protect himself and get good shots of the crash. Still an awesome sight.
  2. It's like a FWD drag racer.. Yeah, it can be done, but there are far better choices.
  3. Draco-REX

    AT&T Uverse

    DirecTV. Get it. Love it.
  4. Lamborghini hasn't come out with a LP560-4 Superleggera yet, so it's the original. Damned nice car. And if it can't take a little rain, then what good is it? Even nice cars should be driven.
  5. In OH, if it's a state road with 3 digits, it's a good road.
  6. Where did you get the Dry Ice, and do they sell it in bricks?
  7. I'm kicking myself for not rolling my window down and listening to the engine. It very well could have been a V6 with Z28 badges; those tailpipes were on the small side... Then again, it's probably good that I didn't.. Being ~400lbs lighter than a Z28, I could at least give a stock one a run for it's money. If I had heard that it was a V6 ricer I don't think I could have resisted rubbing it in...
  8. Those Infiniti knock-off taillights and chrome tailpipe sleeves are just too intimidating.
  9. I've been kicking around the idea of removing all the stickers and badges from it... He better be careful. I hear that much NAWS will blow the floorpan right out of the car.
  10. It's impressive that the CPD have cracked down on street racing so much that people are going all the way to Mexico to race. That's dedication.....
  11. Yes, you with the V6 aero package, LED taillights, and temp tags. I congratulate you on being the first serious attempt to get me to race. I thought it would have happened sooner, but you were the first to ignore all the evidence to the contrary and attempt to get me to roll race you. I can understand you missing the "Eat, Sleep, Rally" bumper sticker. It's mostly pictographs that can be hard to figure out on the highway at night. And I can understand you maybe missing the "Rally or Die" also, since the writing is smallish. But I figured the large "SCCA RallyCross" across the back window would be a big indicator that I'm not into Highway racing. Also the huge mudflaps and the sides of the car that are covered in mud that looks like it was applied at 100mph should have been dead giveaways. As would the elevated ride height, and large array of lights on the front... Granted, your car was clean, and your chrome exhaust tips oh so shiny. And granted, you picked an import with a big wing and a lot of stickers. But really, did you expect me to give up my greatest advantage by getting into a *roll* race? I'm not dumb. If you want to race so much, come to a RallyX next year and we'll see who's fast then. That's about the same as expecting me to race with you on the highway..
  12. WRX: Swap in V7 STI: Clutch 6-Speed Driveshaft R180 Diff Axles Hubs And 4/2 pot brakes from an 06/07 WRX with GroupN rear rotors Then finish stripping the car including: Radio A/C Door Cards Carpet Sound deadening (anyone know where to get bricks of Dry Ice?) Emissions Crap Front and Rear bumper beams Front crash brace (maybe) Rear door side impact beams (if removeable) I hope to hit 2900lbs or less Oh and get some new tires finally. STI: Nothing. Just keeping it out of the salt. Corolla: Nothing either. Just hoping it doesn't die on me.
  13. This is for slow-speed impacts, such as driving through a congested cty where someone could step out in front of you. The hood pops up like an air-bag and will buckle when a body hits it in order to cushion the impact. It'll be interesting to see if punks start whacking the front bumpers of GTRs at stoplights..
  14. "Rain Fade" is a myth now, really. I have perfect signal in all but the WORST storms. But they usually sweep past in a couple minutes. Worst I ever had was the big snow storm last year and I only had to restort to Recorded shows, DVDs, Games, and the Internet for maybe 40 minutes.. Since getting DirecTV here, I've had signal issues maybe 3 times. Now TW on the other hand, I had signal issues all the time. Spotty pictures, dropped audio. HD On-Demand was painful to watch. And know what? It happened at ANY time, not just when the weather was bad. And no, the techs couldn't fix it. But I guess that's so much better than having a satellite signal drop once, maybe twice a year.
  15. I really don't see this. I had TW then switched to DirecTV. DTV's HD was not only more comprehensive, but clearer. Then the SD channels were 10 times better than TW's SD. TW was definitely borrowing bandwidth from their regular stations to feed their HD and On Demand. I had the *worst* service and channel selection with TW, and will never switch back. This isn't hearsay, but my actual experience.
  16. Frankly, I think anyone who feels that science and faith are mutually exclusive is being closed-minded. Kind of like someone who only votes along party lines. Faith is about the "Why" of the universe, Science is about the "How." Personally, science confirms my faith. The Big Bang, Evolution, even a single cell; "God's" fingerprints are everywhere. What parent doesn't want their children to grow and learn from them, and eventually surpass them?
  17. Yup. As for motor reliability, you don't have anything to worry about. Tune for your mods, and have some mechanical sympathy and it'll last a long time. Again, my WRX that I beat on, has a tune by Thorne and happily sits at an IAM of 16 (No knock, even when racing). There's 124K on the clock and the headgaskets are just fine. The engine the SAAB has is in the sweet spot, especially if it's the 2.5L motor. Get the car, go through Subaru for anything but body/interior parts, and you'll have a great family wagon that can come out an play on trackdays.
  18. I was at Kilkare when Doc took his Renntech out for *his* first ever run at a drag strip. First ever run, left off idle, did an 11.8 Get the Renntech if you want to do 11 secs all day while listening to music, enjoying A/C and having your back massaged at the same time. Damn impressive car.
  19. A friend mine's wife has one. It's a Subaru with SAAB clothes. The downside is that MAG seems to have no clue how to work on it. So approach repairs to it as a Subaru, not as a SAAB. Otherwise, it'll be fine. My WRX has the "glass" transmission (being an early '03) and I'm Stage 2 and race it regularly on very rough surfaces. It isn't crunchy in the least. The "glass" reputation really came from numbskulls who don't know how to drive stick. It should be fine if it hasn't been beaten on already. If you want to really make the transmission happy, put Subaru Extra-S in it. It's tough to get, but worth it in a Subaru.
  20. I'm at the point where I'm content with what I have, but it'd be FUCKING SWEET, to have _______.
