I think cars should be driven. In general, if a car isn't a piece of automotive history, I think it should be taken out and enjoyed. Otherwise, you're missing out on half of what it is. That said, historic pieces I can see spending most of their time in a garage. It's a shame to hide them away, but I understand it. However, I think they should still see some daylight at events like the mentioned Pebble Beach and Goodwood. They are still cars, and motion is intrinsic to what a car is.

The last two times I brought my car there, I was unhappy. One smelled of smoke and the last time he didn't snap the headliner back in place on my S5 and when I climbed back there to do it I found that he cracked the shroud around the third brake light. Not going back there. Haven't had anything tinted by him, but I met him once. He was driving a civic with the windshield tinted to 5% and came across like a huge douche. I don't think I'd use him. And besides.. The tint "DUDE"? Really?

The problem with the old threads is that Quality Window Tint is often highly recommended. After two unhappy experiences, I won't recommend them to anyone. I'll add another vote for Performance Auto Spa.

Need to know what the wife's car is. But assuming: 1. The wife's car is not up for the chopping block and will be fixed. 2. It's a comfortable family car. Then I'd say since you love your truck, get what you can for the X5 and pick up something fun, sporty, and relatively inexpensive. You'll have two cars you enjoy, but with VERY different driving manners, and you can use the wife's car for when something more comfortable is needed.

I'd like to go. But this is the first year I've had my birthday off, so I'm going on a long drive.

Ha! Figures. We're getting the last few projects done on the house, and the Saturday work schedule is loosening up, so I should be able to make it to more CCCs.

I'll give it a shot, but I don't think it'll measure up. It also bothers me that the tech level makes it look like it should be post-Voyager, not pre-Kirk. The Klingon designs don't look like the right time period either. Hopefully they'll explain it.

I've been keeping an eye on tires for this season because the R888s on the Lotus are DONE. What I've seen, it comes down to two tires for AutoX. The Bridgestone RE-71R, and the BF Goodrich Rival S 1.5. They are close enough that it would come down to setup/driver, with the RE-71R having a slightly better feel. It's looking like I'll be going with the BFGs though since they come in the sizes I want.

Rear seat is only for double amputees. But they do look a lot more usable as a DD than my Exige, even without the cage.

I missed that you picked up a new one too. Do you still have the Spur?
