  1. IMO, you get what you pay for. My thoughts on labor in HD diesel shops:

PM / LOF / A-B-C service- fixed prices

    Brake work-$80-$100 HR

    Suspension/ Steering - $100-$110 HR, $80-100 diag

Engine Diag- $120-$130 HR, $250 diag min

Electrical Diag- $130-$150 HR, $250 diag min

Same can be applied in regular automotive, just tweek the numbers.

  2. I had two friends who committed suicide. One was one meds, and shouldn't have had access to a firearm.

The other got in a bad way with some people and felt the only way to separate himself from it was to eat a bullet. He was a great guy, just didn't know of his inner demons. Felt terrible for his wife and father.

Nothing is worth hurting your loved ones like that.

  3. I had to ship about 1500lbs of steel shelving a year and a half ago. We have a FedEx freight account, and they quoted me about $1,750.

The company that was selling them to me said to ask for a special rate where the product is not insured at such a high rate.

Turns out the first quote was for $100k worth of insurance. With about $10k of insurance on the delivery it only cost my $800.

  4. Look out west. A good friend of mine just bought an 04 Vette FRC with a 416ci LS3 for 13k. 60k mile car, 6 spd. Second choice was a Z06 with 70k or 15k.

The market is flooded with them in AZ

  5. Duh. I’m not that dumb Gerg. A lot of core charges are $10-20, or I typically buy new when I can and those typically don’t have core charges anyway.

This. We have at any given time $40-80k wrapped up in cores at work. Any time I can push a product in to a coreless item, I do it.

Turbos and injectors are my money maker. New Garrett, Holset or Borg Warner for 30% less then a remanfactured CAT, Cummins, Detroit or Navistar product.

  6. Yeah it was my first match so I'm not to upset just wanted to learn from it. Sucks because I would have scored #9 out of #105 for the day on that course (texas star among a few others) I did really good. Would have bumped my standings for the day by 21-25 spots lol!

Been there. I've been having to work on my reloading skills. They are taking WAAAAY to long. I can probably pickup 2-3 spots if I can get that time in half.

  7. 2019 UPSPSA book- Page 59, 10-2-4

"A competitor who fails to comply with a mandatory reload will incur one procedural penalty for each shot fired after the point where the reload was required until a reload is performed."

Ouch. This is why I shoot IDPA.

  8. I feel like this just needed quoted again. He said it hurt like hell.:no::no:

I'm wincing just thinking about this. Breathing tube, whatever. But catheter? Yeeow

  9. I love my Shield. I thought about trying a P365 but decided to just trick out my Shield. Couple mag extensions and a bunch of Apex parts later, this Shield is a badass!
  10. I wasn't sure if this was satire.

I think we should move to a mileage tax on registrations and do away with the fuel tax. More efficient cars use less gas but tear up the road just as much or more than they use to. Only real downside is a registration tax doesn't grab interstate traffic that contributes to messing up the roads. Maybe keep a diesel tax but do away with the gasoline.

I disagree. This would only help those who work in big cities areas. Guys like me, who drive 30-40k a year in state would get screwed. Also a diesel only tax would likely push over the road transportation business out if the state.

I think we need to look at the materials we are using in our infastructure and maintaining them. I use to sell the state their plow blades, and I can tell you that a 1-1/2" thick piece of forged steel dragging across a asphalt road isn't extending the life of our roads.
