  2. Your skill level does not matter. Everyone starts somewhere and all are welcome. Just be safe, and you'll have a blast.

Exactly. If you're trying to find a match and register look at this website. https://practiscore.com . My groups runs all of thier matches and post their standings there. Hope that helps.

  3. I've shot both IDPA and USPSA and gravitated more towards IDPA. I started back about two years ago and shoot pretty regularly. I think IDPA would be the better choice given its focusing on good solid defensive habits and real world equipment. I'd always get pissed off when I'd show up at a shoot with my M&P9 + gear and there are 15 guys there with race gear and shooting powder puff loads.

With IDPA I started at the back of the pack of 20 shooter and have worked my way up the list(now sitting between 5-8 typically). One thing I did to practice was purchase an Airsoft version of my pistol that recoils and a bunch of IDPA targets. I set them up in the basement and will practice on occasion. It really helped with shooting on the move.

  4. I'm starting the hunt for my long time "got to have it" car and I'm looking for some advice on buying out of the state. I went to look at one in Mt. Vernon and it was NOT as advertised and in rough in shape. It got me looking and it seems like anything worth a damn is out of state.

I'm looking for a 2001 Dark Highland Green Bullitt Mustang. I've wanted one since they came out new when I was 16. I don't care for the 08' nor the 18'.

Yeah, I know the hype right now around the Bullitt name plate and could careless. I've finally reached a point where it's either "shit or get off the pot" on buying one and I'm he'll bent on getting a nice clean example of one.

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Yeah, the LCPII was just too small for me. I'll get a new carry gun that's a bit bigger, as I never really hip carry (mainly car and then I'll throw it in my back pocket if needed).

Better to have and not need than to need and not have. Shit, I've been looking at sticking a carbine in my trunk as a SHTF backup. Sub 2k,10.5 pistol AR15 or AR9. LOL

  6. Me and Brad actually did a straight trade tonight lol. The LCP II is definitely small, a far cry from the comfortable SR22 for range purposes but I strictly wanted this gun for carry purposes.

Gotcha, good deal. It's a heck of a mouse gun, shoots more like a striker-fire which is what sold me on the gun.

  7. That totally fixed the issue, thanks for the tip. I was chasing my tail last night trying to figure out what the hell the problem was. I tore the thing down and built it several times trying to see if I missed something or where it was catching.

Glad it was a simple fix. Now to get some iron sights on it, mount the optic, and see if it goes click bang.

    Good deal. Post some pics!

AR's are pretty hard to screw up. If you buy name brand stuff your typically in good shape.

  8. The pin is probably backwards. Some of them are profiled differently on either side. One side will stick, the other side won't.

Agreed, likely the issue.I did that on my first build.

Drop the grip and flip the pin. I would suggest placing the lower upside down so you don't lose the spring and pin.

  9. Hard to get out of debt when your income drops. Hope there is a short and long term plan for reducing our national debt.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy to see that money back in my account, but would feel better knowing our debt is being addressed.

  10. Sorry didn't mean to the the Debby Downer :) It's one of those things where they money doesn't matter, sure insurance paid me out fairly for what all was done to the car but none of that replaces a car I made my entire formative adult years in. He literally could have stolen anything else I have and it wouldn't have really mattered... that's just STUFF.

The shit end of this story? I'm STILL going to court with this fucking guy and we are very nearly at the 2 year anniversary of it happening. I'll be there every damn court appearance to make sure he understands what he took from me. That was my car a lot of us car guys dream of, the one we drive to car shows (if they still exist) in our later years and talk about buying it new and every adventure it had been through with us.

I can understand the emotions. Sadly my story is somewhat similar.

My 1998 GT vert. I bought the car my second year of college working my ass off working full time and school full time. Atlantic Blue, 5 spd. I spent many years working on her, it ended up being exactly how I wanted her to be. PI swapped, full suspension, Vortech S trim, sitting on 10th anniversary wheels.

Life happened and I was in need of cash. Money was tight and had to make a decision. She was sold to a friend through work and he took great care of her. A few years went by and he ended up needing to sell her. My wife realized that "Blu" was more than a car. In 2015 she walked in the kitchen with money in an envelope and told me to bring "Blu" home.

6 months later driving home in Blu and get rear ended by a drunk driver at 45 mph while at a stand still. I get out of the car, walk back to see the guy hunched over his wheel. I worked on trying to make sure he's still breathing by forcing his door open and was rewarded to the smell of shit and SoCo. The car was a total loss and I was lucky to have walked away.

    I miss that car...

  11. No yet,

I have been backed up on busy season. Damn these best seller cars...

From website though, he's got trucks that are little over my budget though...

    Thanks !

Gotcha. The website likely doesn't depict what he might have available through company contacts either. Is there a certain make/model your after?
