Disconnect it and don't touch it for a while. Friend of my dads had one blow up in his face when he tried to pull it out of the car. Just let it cool down for a while before u try and remove it. But definately replace it -

Oh and wheels were 17x11 zr1's.

My old 98 had them on it. I cut out the bump stops and used a BFH on parts of the fender well. Also slightly curled the fender edges up so they wouldn't cut into the tire. It was lowered as well for a long time with Eibach Pro-Kit springs.
