    Aviation

My brother is a commercial pilot. Just left republic for a new job at Atlas where he'll be flying cargo 747's across the globe and he's only 29. If you want to seriously get started in aviation, you needed to start about 15 years ago. He has his pilot license before his drivers license. He spent days and days on flight sim with live ATC plugin, simulating flights, learning to talk to ATC, etc. Then he got his bachelors in aviation, started doing private lessons for people, got into commercial... But if you just want to fly planes for the fun of it, its pretty easy to start, just takes a lot of money.
  2. Should be. Call back if you want it, could have been talking to a idiot. If you want some insights about your shit like signal levels, load on your node, etc, pm me your account number or phone number on the account and I'll look it up when I go in on sunday night
  3. Might but I will never recommend one (ubiquiti gear set a new standard for me) PSA: WOW! now has gigabit service available for all of its service area in Ohio...don't get it as you wont ever get more than about 900 due to the CSU/DSUs in place
  4. I use them with RasPlex as a Plex interface for all the TVs. Far better than Plex on any other tv/streaming device.
  5. Do not get a combo/all in one. When it breaks you replace all three.... and most of them are garbage. MODEM: Get a Docsis 3.1 compatible Arris/Motorola surfboard modem. They good. ROUTER: Ubiquiti Unifi Security Gateway ($110) WIRELESS: Any Ubiquiti Unifi AP. There are CHEAP ($30) good Wireless-N units on Ebay, and very very good Wireless-AC units new starting around $100. This setup will shit all over ANY store bought combo unit and last for many years, while allowing you to upgrade or expand one part at a time. If you need a switch, any decent gigabit switch will do, no need to shell out for the ubiquiti unit unless you want advanced monitoring.
  6. Bump. Craigslist lowballers are working their way up in price...
  7. I'm holding out on one for about 2 years. Not buying new, and not getting a first model year.

  9. I got an ordinary walmart cooler with some NASCAR sponsor brand stickers on it $900
  10. Bit overkill for that dont you think? I'd run a little atom powered supermicro machine, but if you're not paying the electric ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  11. Fellate a donkey Guy probably likes the taste of his own splooge.
  12. Yes and no... I'm using it temporarily in place of this piece of shit lenovo/ibm until I get a replacement HBA card in. If I find the time to fuck with it and get the lenovo running without the HBA I'll let you know but otherwise it'll be 3-4 days. The H310 on this thing is my savior.
  13. My '03 Volvo S60 had the original battery in it even when I sold it in 2013, and it still cranked strong. Bigass trunk mounted vented motherfucker, and I believe Interstate was the OEM for Volvo. Next battery I buy will probably be an Interstate just because.
  14. pffft. A few days in the single digits and it's "cold" outside? Maybe having a remote starter has altered my perspective but I don't think it's been any colder this year.
  15. Damn, that's a lot of laptop for the money. Solid desktop replacement. GLWS.
