Well, the time has finally come. Just paid off last month, but decided other things are more pressing than having a toy car. Figured I'd start here before taking it to a dealer or Craigslist. It truly is a huge performance increase. Your GPU looks good, not overkill, I personally would opt for more RAM and a wicked sharp display. That's right, I am bringing back the use of the word "wicked."

Looks good, I think she is a keeper . For just a blaster upper, I would suggest CMMG, Del-Ton, and DoubleStar as good parts. For defensive/heavy work, I would suggest an upper from Bravo Company. They are a true defensive quality upper with a reasonable price tag. I would skip the Chrome BCG unless you want it for looks. Regular M16 BCG should work great, if you really want something special/durable, look at the Fail Zero BCG and Hammer. I know someone who has 2000rds through the FZ BCG both suppressed and unsuppressed in an SBR without cleaning nor malfunction. I would not own an AR that is not chrome lined except for a stainless barrel. For Quad Rails, I would go LaRue, Daniel Defense, or Knights. RAS systems can be had for really cheap used, and while they are not free-floating, they are quite durable. Stay away from Mako and Tapco. For BUIS, MagPul MBUS, YHM, MI are good budget systems. I wouldn't trade my Troy set for the world though, they are awesome.

+1 Hell you order the parts and I will build the lower for you. Check out Dale at Delta Epsilon Engineering in Hilliard. He does the cheapest transfers I know and has good stripped lowers in stock. You lower of choice+BCM upper is the best bang for your buck. PM if you want, I have build 20+ ARs. If you want a right out of the box blaster, check out CMMG Bargin Bin with Dale transferring it for you. It's like $600 plus transfer. I am at work so I can't link but google "CMMG Bargin Bin Rifle" and it should get you in the right place.

I would second the Del-Ton kits for a decent plinker/range beater. They will work for 80% of guys that buy ARs and 99% of people that shoot less than 1000rds a year. Another option in that arena would be the CMMG Bargin Bin rifles http://www.cmmginc.com If you are looking for a rifle that will be reliable enough to stake your life on, I would look at a Bravo Company Manufacturing upper on a decent lower. This is about the low end of a fully true "Mil-Spec" rifle. Another good option would be Daniel Defense. I can say that I have a Double Star Kit rifle (similar to Del-Ton) with the only upgrade being a chrome-lined barrel (a necessary upgrade IMHO, especially if shooting dirty ass Wolf) with about 10,000 rds through it, including 5 really hard use sessions of 1000+ in one day. It works, but it is not my "fighting" rifle.

I don't believe that there is any other way for an individual to have a FA shotgun, only companies/corps. So I got hit by the "Ohioans can't drive during the first couple of snowfalls of the winter" fairy and hit a guardrail on 71 in my Exploder. I am looking for a good body shop for light impact damage on the right front and right rear of my 04 Explorer. Also want to make sure everything is mechanically OK, I have been driving it and not noticed anything. My Ins. Deductable is $1000 so I would like to find a decent shop so I don't have to pay the full $1000. Thanks for any help.

Evan, It is 3rd shift 11p-7a with .5 hour unpaid lunch. Pay starts at 11.50 which aint bad and comes with good benefits and travel. Plus they feed you . Raises are hit and miss, I don't know alot, I've only been there 6 months. Colin

This plus 42. Those things are shit. My wife-to-be grew up the same way, hunters with shotguns/rifles, but not many pistols. I was the first person to really take her pistol shooting. She proceeded to buy a Glock 19 for her first pistol. I will say that she enjoys shooting the G19, a S+W .22LR pistol, my Beretta M92FS, and my Colt M1991A1 from the Custom Shop. The Colt she just ran very successfully at a 3-gun shoot. My suggestion would be to get ahold of as many people that you know/trust with different types of pistols and have her try as many as she can. Umm, no, the vast majority of AR-type rifles are DI, pistons are new and relatively far between. Did you mean piston operated like AKs are? OT: Decent price, I still don't think the cost between 5.45 and 5.56 is different enough to warrant a change for myself.
