White, you will get alot of people telling you to stuff a BBC, oe even a SMC in it.. the engien your dealing with is the first gen. AMC engine, not a whole lot of go fast goodies for those engines out there, But i do have a buddy up in Mi. that has been able to get some goodies.. I thought i read somewhere this one at least has the 4 BBL carb and intake. That is a good thing! also if you take off the rocker shafts be careful about where the bolts came from, as i THINK 2 of them are hollow to allow oil to lube the rockers and valve springs. if you dont have any oil coming up , might pull 1 bolt at a time, to see if the hollow portion may have gotten sludged up. That seems to be a problem area with that engien design.. Good luck,and like i said, if i can lend a hand or help out in anyway, give me a shout. Mike

Yes Scotty, Believe it or not, it is a AMC engine in there.. 430CI. a 4.25 bore with a 3.80 stroke crankshaft, a set of Indy sr cyl. heads with a little 1150 dominator carb (i did say ALL MOTOR right) with a Jerico 4 spd. I was leaving at th esame rpm as last year 6800.. shift about 8K... but fridays outing wasn't very impresive for us.. Last time out last fall 9.37 @ 141 mph.

we enjoyed ourselves as normal. yuo guys (gals) are a Great bunch to go to the track with. The starting line was in wonderful shape, but IMO from about 150 feet on out, the track didnt seem to want to hold my piece of shit. Personally only made 2 runs down the track. the first pass the car left good with the front wheels up about 2 feet, but when i shifted into 3 rd gear (before the 1/8 the car was loose) I aborted that pass. the 2nd time up, the car did a HUGE wheelstand witht he front wheels up about 4 feet, ya no shit, the wheels came up over the wall and then some, Guess i panicked and it came down hard, that pass also aborted.. was very disapointed the track didnt bother to clean up all the OIL that was down up by the tower for the left lane side. It apeared to me it was just getting worse as time went by, it was being drug all over the place, and persoanlly a low 9 sec. car and oil on the tires doesnt mix. So that is when i decided that was enough for the day.. this was our first time out with the piece of shit this year, all in all a good first outing i guess,, just need to get ride of the spring in the wheely bars so it doesnt do any more 4 foot wheelies. freshend the engine over the winter and we found a extra 30 horse from last year. againe we had a Great time, thats for the get togther! but if it shakes with out the brakes, it isn't becouse of your bad rotors. And Ditto a broken sway bar link won't cause a vibration. If the shop rotated and balanced and aligned it. Id take it back to them, also Cupped tires will cause a vibration, and also a noise..

Ford had a tap and wiggle test. Or maybe bootleg test, but has worked for me here and there. with car idleing. tap lightly with the handle of a screw driver on each sensor ( does it have a mass air flow, or Map sensor?) I'f mass system i would suspect the mass air flow sensor... If the tap test does not show any bad sensors, the lightly pull on the conectors of each sensor.. Might also have a issue with the pick up in the dist. (thats what the module goes into.) just a couple places to start to look. Mike

T8, Thanks for posting the link!! that is high quality too!!! too bad that wasn't the 9.59 pass tho. I was just seating the new clutch that day.. The next time we went out, we turned the launch rpm and shift rpm's back up to normal. 9.37 @ 141 mph.. 1.30 60 foot, and 5.93 @ the 1/8 mile.. N/A (all motor) and a 4 spd! Mike

don't know of a dentist other then OSU that might be open today.. a few things i have tried or done,,, Orajel... and beleive it or not, Have her hold a ice cube in her hand. That will take away the pain for alittle while for some reason it works.. also mouthwash will also take the pain away for alittle while.. Hope some of these helps her/you out. Mike

No Problem DF, hell i probably have a extra one in my tool box.. Antwon needed a battery in May, hell i had one of those with me in the trailor. While we cant fix everything, it sure is worth a try, and did i mention my parts suppliers will also deliever to the track.. Oh and also a note for everyone to know.. AAA doesn't cover towing when you break at the track, but we also have several tow co's we deal with, that we call them directly..Don't call AAA directly, or if you do, tell them you are on 40 by the race track.. Its all in how you play the game!-) Mike
