So basically i joined up on some w body/3800 page on facebook and posted a video of one of my runs at trails. A little while later, i have a few comments on it, one of which was this gem, "If it is a 3.8 the front end was replaced or the engine was swapped as the lt1 nose only had the 3.4 except the 1995 california cars. They had the 3.8 but only with obd 1.5 so tuning would be a beotch" Now maybe its just me, but i read that as saying all lt1 style cars 93-97, got the 3.4 except a rare few 95's. The funny part is, is just how dumb this kid is. I tried to correct him, just to have him get pissy and tried to tell me he works on these cars all the time, so he would know... Me and another guy on there asked said kid why he thinks they all came with the 3.4 minus the 95's and his responses were, "because they did" and you cant read lol. Now he has a buddy on there trying to cover his ass, everytime you try to prove kid wrong he just gets pissy and starts calling me an idiot and saying i cant read lol It still amazes me how stupid some people can be.

its all in who you have install it. i know several people that have them and have never had problems. Now on the other hand, i just had mine installed by best buy and they fucked up my dash lights. they tried to tell me i had to buy a new one. i dont think their coorperate office willl agree lol (or at least i hope)

I dont believe so. I dont know exactly what chassis the dts's were on, but im pretty sure the lucerne was an H body, which is like the bonnevilles. Older chassis, but they ride and handle amazing for a big ass boat lol. Not to mention they indistructable 3.8, and my bonneville gets 22/32 mpg.

Buick lucerne (sp?). Pretty nice cars and could still be had with the series 3 3800.

so i got a deal from best buy that i couldnt pass up. its a $300 compustar keyless entry/ remote start kit, but the package was geek squad installed it for a total of $199+ tax. after picking up the car, i realized why they knocked $100 off to have their guys install it. the top part of my tach, lower part of my speedo, volt gauge and half my radio are all dimmed. Not the the point where you cant see, but deffinately darker than the rest. also the radio has this neat little trick where when on, the numbers for the channel selects light up, and when turned off, the rewind, fast forward, and so on light up instead. any one have any idea if this is something i might be able to fix on my own, or am i gonna have lose my car for another day while geek squad attempts to fix it? of and this is on my bonneville if it matters.

like adam said, go up to the tinder box at easton. we went there after my buddy had his baby and just asked them what they recommended. very knowledgeable guys and will point you in the right direction.

This. Honestly, for a DD, you cant beat the 3.8 cars. Ive owned mine for almost 7 years and never really had a problem with it. The car pretty much immediately got a CAI, full exaust and posi with 3.73 gears. No it still wasnt very fast, but it wasnt bad and it got like 34 mpg on the highway (its a lightweight base model stripped down no options car). Hell even with the with how its currently set up and 4.10's out back, it still gets around 30 mpg. Not to mention you can get them for next to nothing, and add turbo kit for within your budget.

One id like to do myself one day, GN turbo 3800 in an FD.

Well damn, im starting to think im going about modding cars the wrong way. This guy and some kid that runs around main st in reynoldsburg in a red v6 99-04 mustang both went with upgraded badging (ss badges on camaro and cobra bumbers and badges on stang) and their cars are appearantely quick as shit lol.
