  1. welcome. Pretty sure ive seen that car at trails before. Yes trails is still 1/4 mile. They had debated goin to 1/8 but that got shot down pretty hard.
  2. well at least he was being honest lol. I would probably have done the same (without being a prick about it though). It would be my luck that i would tell you some bs story about why i dont have and that im putting it back on when i get home, then run into you again a week later...
  3. I hope this passes. Although at this point it wouldnt help me much seeing as i don drive the firebird on the street much except out to meets every once in a while and to the track.
  4. if you actually knew chad, you would know how funny what he said actually is. He is about the least racist person i know. As for me, old people scare me. I get this one old guy that comes into my work to get gas every once in a while. Every time i have to go out and do everything for him because he appearantly can not read the questions/buttons on the pumps. The thing that scares is the fact that im also sharing the road with people like that.
  5. its cheaper (hence the reason my 383 is being carbed to). Not to mention, from what i have read, LS1's tend to make a little more power with good carb setups over fuel injection.
  6. wanted it back when they were saying AWD turbo V6. Now i just dont care.
  7. depending on what the girl does tonight, ill prolly be there
  8. that thought had crossed my mind. what all is required to run it?
  9. no cam as of yet, basically the motor is a gen 1 350 out of a 95 silverado, 383 crank, forged rods 11.48:1 hypereutectic pistons, the heads im going with are 64 cc 2.02 intake 1.60 exaust 190cc runner and are aluminum. i was planning on getting everything together before calling comp and getting there opinion on the cam. Scott, i did have it figured out for the most part, like i said i had several people telling me 11:5 would be fine as long as i had aluminum heads (got my info from a guy that claimed to be a "pro engine builder"). Not to mention its not a huge deal to me. would i like to have a a car that can run on 93, of course. But if it doesnt work out that way, i wont be heart broken or anything. just attempting to not have to pay $6.50 a gallon if at all possible lol
  10. what kind of compression can i get away with on a 383 stroker with aluminim heads and without going a crazy overlap cam? I currently have 11.5 pistons and was told that would be fine to run 93 in with aluminum heads. Now a buddy is saying no way in hell.
  11. since when does your mustang have 290hp?
  12. firebird- 6 bonneville- 6 mustang- 8 F-150-8 trailblazer-6 about 1300 hp with 34 cylinders
  13. jesse, please read the stickies and try again.
  14. thanks, im hopeing it will be fun anyway lol. a friend of mine is using those pistons in his 409, i do not envy him with having to use race gas.
  15. finally got mine out to and went for a cruise. got it out the other day to wash the dust off of it and got some pics. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj294/pontiacfreak142/DSC02016.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj294/pontiacfreak142/DSC02015.jpg oh and when i said i went on a cruise, i meant i drove it out down to jegs to pick up a few things.... http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj294/pontiacfreak142/DSC02094.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj294/pontiacfreak142/DSC02095.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj294/pontiacfreak142/DSC02096.jpg
  16. yea they look cool, but 13 mpg city and 18 highway is a big turn off.
  17. ^ this. im waiting to hear horror stories about the trannies again since they put a launch system back in the cars.
  18. well maybe nowadays they do, but my buddies uncle had a fox mustang and it did say do not use BP gas right in the manual.
  19. yea, to 60 mph they might beat a veyron. But the vette on drag radials would be good for high 10's.
  20. yea, i never use bp crap in any of my cars for this exact reason. my dad even told me that at least ford and GM both used to say do not use BP gas in there owners manuals.
  21. nissan ftw? umm not. thats why a 70K (normally, dont know why the morons got a fully loaded car for a drag race...) RWD car that had no traction was catching up to a 90K base price car with more power and AWD. on another note, i would really like to see that race again with drag radials on the stang and vette.
  22. thats only for a fully loaded Z06. you can get a basic one for around 70K.
  23. good idea, only problem is, it would cost most businesses more money. for instance, i work for kroger, none of the machines we use can check ID's, we just key in the birthdate. So they would either have to spend thousands of dollars installing new card readers that you slide id's through, or install black lights.
